Chapter 5: Bidding his Thanks

It was now a new day in Equestria. The weather was still bad, yet it was getting better. It's Tesla second day in Equestria, and since the machine incident yesterday, he's managed to get it back to top condition. And as of his second day, he's trying to construct the electrical pulse that's transported him to Equestria in the first place, though with Equestria current technology, which is all over the place, he's finding it rather difficult to do so.

Twilight has thought more about Tesla and his invention, thinking of how much this could advance Equestria's technology. His demeanor and intelligence is also something Twilight thought, so much so that she thinks he might be unstable, though she isn't too sure.

Twilight was still trying to write her letter to Celestia, though she had changed some of the words in the letter,

Dear Princess Celestia,

I do regret to inform you, but neither me or my
friends have learnt anything about friendship, but instead, we've seem
to have found a strange pony who says he is from an alternate world,
he is a very eccentric individual who is a bit ou a very
intelligent individual as well. And with his intelligence, he has done
something truly spectacular, he has managed to make an object transport
from one place to another, without magic. Yes, I'm fully aware that it seems,
well, unreal but let me assure you, Your Highness, it's real, and I have my
friends to back me up on that. I believe this could bring Equestia up to an
outstanding technological height, but I just want you to see for yourself

Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.

Twilight then heard a knock at the door from her desk, with her knowing that Spike was closer to the door, she asked him from her desk,

"Spike, can you get the door please?"
"OK, Twilight" Spike replied.

As Spike went over to see who was at the door, Twilight used her magic to fold over her letter to the Princess and slid the letter into an envelope, whilst she was eavesdropping on who was at the door. As it turns out, it was one of her close friends,

"Oh hi Applejack" Spike greeted.
"Howdy, Spike. Is Twilight home?" Applejack asked.
"Yeah, she is. I'll call her" Spike replied, "Twilight! It's Applejack!" He called out.
"I'll be there in a second" Twilight said from her desk.

Twilight levitated her ballpoint pen and wrote Princess Celestia on the front of it. She then laid the letter on her desk and hoisted herself up from the pillow she sits on whenever she writes a letter and then she trotted over to her front door,

"Oh hey, Applejack" Twilight greeted.
"Howdy Twi" Applejack greeted back, "What were ya doing before ah interrupted ya, sorry about that, by tha way" The country mare apologized.
"Oh no, it's OK, Applejack, I was just finishing off a letter to Princess Celestia" She explained.
"Do you want me to send it, Twilight?" Spike asked.
"Please Spike" Twilight replied.

Spike nodded and went over towards her desk so he could transport the letter through his magical flame to Equestria's highest authority, whilst Twilight let Applejack inside her home and closed the front door behind her,

"Brr" Applejack said as she shrugged off the cold from the outside, "So, what subject of friendship were ya learning about that ya had ta send ta Princess Celestia?" Applejack asked with curiosity.
"Well, to be truly honest, Applejack. It wasn't about friendship. It was about..." Twilight paused, "It was about Nikola"
"Oh, right" Applejack replied, "What did ya say about 'im? Ah think that is a good idea to tell the Princess about him, considering that he comes from a different world. Did ya mention the incident yesterday?"
"Yes" Twilight nodded, "She has to know about these things"
"Ah agree" Applejack said.
"Anyways, are you wanting a coffee, a drink, maybe?" Twilight changed the subject.
"Nah, thanks though. I just wanted to come around and talk" Applejack said.
"What do you want to talk about then?" Twilight asked.
"Well, did ya hear about the big snow storm heading this way?" Applejack asked.
"No, but that doesn't surprise me, despite all the bad weather we've been having already" Twilight replied, "Don't you have like apples to buck before some deadlock? You told us about it last week, do you need any help at all?" Twilight asked.
"Nah, ah'm pretty sure me and Big MacIntosh can finish by the time the storm rolls around" Applejack told her friend.
"Horseapples, Applejack." Twilight sighed, "Don't start this thing again, last time this happened you barely held on, we can help you. Don't let your pride get the better of you again"
Applejack sighed, "Fine, Twi. Yer right, ah need help, ah keep thinking ah don't, but ah do. Thanks"
"It's not a problem" Twilight smiled, "We'll try and get Nikola out to help as well, he needs out of the house"
"Yeah, the more, the merrier" Applejack replied.

Meanwhile, Tesla was continuing to work on the electrical pulse to upgrade his machine, he had wires that he was carefully connecting to the small sockets, he had to be even more careful since he is in his pony form. Tesla stopped working on it and took a short rest, and at this point, he heard a knock on the door,

"Come in" He said.

Applejack entered, much to Tesla's surprise, he was expecting either Twilight or Spike to be the one who knocks,

"Oh, hello Applejack" Tesla greeted.
"Howdy, Nikola" She greeted back.
"How are you doing?" He asked.
"Ah'm doing fine, what about yerself?" She asked back.
"I'm OK. I never got to thank you for passing that rubber ball yesterday, you helped save the machine pretty much" Tesla said, "And for that, I bid you my thanks"
"We all tried to help" Applejack smiled.
"You did the best though" Tesla said, "But anyways, is there anything else you want to say to me?"
"Actually, ah was hoping to ask ya something" Applejack told him.
"Go ahead" Tesla replied.
"Well, there's an nasty snow storm heading for Ponyville, and ah work for ma family's business, we buck apples, sell them off in pies, fritters, all that good stuff. We have to get our apples packaged, baked, sliced and sold off to all corners of Equestria by a deadlock. And ah would have been doing all the work with ma brother but Twilight insisted to help, and she's getting the others to help as well. She also told me to tell you, that you have to help" Applejack told him.
"Really? Well, I guess since you were the one who actually did something to save my machine, the least I can do for you is to help you" Tesla said before coming with an idea.

Tesla thought to himself for a little bit about his idea, he looked down at the pulse and then to his main machine and back at Applejack, he then sighed and said to her,

"You know what, since this damned pulse to my machine will take me a while to complete, I'll come round to your home tomorrow and build you a machine that can help you with your business, it'll be much quicker" Tesla offered.
"No, it's fine, thank you though" Applejack declined.
"No, you saved my machine, I'm going to help you in return by making you a machine, OK?" Tesla made clear.
"Well, since ya insist" Applejack chuckled.
"OK, I'll have to build the machine over at your home, considering the fact it would be too big to build in here and an even bigger chore to move it out, so I'll have to build it there, sorry" Tesla apologized.
"No, that's fine" Applejack accepted, "Thanks for doing this" Applejack thanked as she extended her foreleg.

Tesla looked down at her foreleg and then looked back at her,

"Miss Applejack, remember, I don't like to shake hooves" He reminded her.
"Oh yeah" Applejack remembered as she placed her foreleg back on the ground, "Sorry"
"It's OK" Tesla replied, "Also before you go, what's the name of your address?" Tesla asked.
"It's a farm called Sweet Apple Acres, ya can't miss it" Applejack told him.
