Apple Blossoms: A Blooming Prequel

Princess Flashback

"You said I was meeting you here, did you change your mind or something?" I growl at Diamond before flying down into her room. Eck, too pink and self absorbed for my tastes. I peer at her once more. She's planning something, I can tell. Something's a miss.

"O-Of course!" Diamond stuttered before she composed herself. She murmured to herself. "I haven't changed my mind. Get your blank flank over here." I shrug and do so. There stood at the edge of her pink and purple clad room a giant stack of books. I shrink back. Sweet Celestia, how can ponies make so many books on two princesses?!

"Ha Ha! Your getting old act is getting old, why don't you spice it up a little?" I roll my eyes before shifting. What was she reminding me of? I internally sigh to myself. "Jeez, you say the same things every time you face me, call me when you come up with something new for a change." I can't look her in the eyes, I shift my back legs and my wings tuck behind me.

"Why don't I just call you a flunky?" Diamond Tiara threatened before narrowing her eyes. "You said we should get to work, hadn't you? Well, we are. I'm still going to call you a blank flank no matter what. Deal with it." I look over Diamond Tiara. Same as what happened yesterday-she had such a coy smile. It couldn't have been towards me, by the way she acts. Still, I back off slightly.

"Fine, fine, you must love me. If your insisting that should stay, then you must care for me!" I joke before taking a seat on the floor, grabbing a book in the process. "I wonder what made Princess Luna go crazy in the first place."

Diamond Tiara shrugged, turning away towards a book she chose. "That's right, your a blank flank, you don't realize it yet." I raise an eyebrow towards her.

"Care to explain?" I bet she'll laugh or mock me in some way. She's-

"You won't know anyway," Diamond was actually being SERIOUS. That's a shocker. "You need a cutie mark to know what it feels like." I roll my eyes. It always revolves around a cutie mark.

"How, dare I ask again?" She glared at me, tossing a book she used and didn't like at me.

"You don't know how its like," Diamond mutters to herself, pulling the other book away. Her hoof covered her mouth for a moment. "Her cutie mark is about the night. Think about it, you dodo brain."

"What's that supposed to mean?" She can't be serious. What does that mean?

"Do I need to explain everything to you?" She asked, exasperating. "You can't be this stupid. She was jealous of Princess Celestia, or did you forget how the tale goes? Do I need to explain that too?"

"Hardy har har," I grumble. "Of course I know, everypony hears that at least ONCE. Two ponies rule over Equestria. One ruled the day in which 'ponies played and frolicked' but the other, the youngest sister, dealt with the night as ponies slept. She was jealous of how the ponies were so happy in the day that no matter what her sister said, she declined it and she turned into a wicked mare of the moon. Her sister BANISHED her using the elements of harmony for 1,000 years where they were used to defeat her and rid of her evil when she returned."

"Looks like you know something. Congrats, your at the level of a kindergartner." She was so full of jokes today, wasn't she? "Guess what the sister's cutie mark represented."

"The sun, where--" My eyes grow huge, why didn't I think of that? "Of course, Celestia can do the same as Luna. She can bring up the night if she really wanted to. That would make her cutie mark pointless."

"Not, 'pointless', that's not the right word. 'Redundant' is a better word. When there's another pony with the same meaning cutie mark, you get jealous. You can't help it."

"Is that why you hated Miss.Cheerilee's Cutie Mark lesson so much?" She didn't answer me outright, never looking me in the eye as she had "answered."

"She's a liar, when you get yours, you realize it quickly. Ponies have similar cutie marks, they don't make you special at all. There are exceptions, I guess, but that's typical of anything." She closed her eyes before speaking again. "Luna learned that quickly, her sister has the same abilities. She's a pony, so she needs to sleep. That's the only reason why Luna means anything and doesn't turn again. To learn that what you do means nothing also heightens the pain even more."

"When did you become such an expert in this area?" I floated over to her. When was she so philosophical all of a sudden? I never expected her of all ponies to have such insight. My cheeks burn as I wiped her tears away,. She's pretty insightful-something that makes her cute. I like mares that are that way. Wait, cute? She's a jerk! She's nowhere near CUTE. "You seem to know this awfully well. I didn't see anyponies that have something similar to your talent."

"Talent? What talent do you have?" A mareish sounding voice whispered sadistically. Something squirmed. "Being a whorse? Nopony wants to be a whorse, you've got to learn that now. Nopony will love you as much as we do here. Learn that here and you'll be squared off. Don't trust anypony outside our circle. They'll hurt you right off the bat."

"Hmph, figures you don't know," She huffs, fears sliding down her cheek again. I hold her close, even when I'm so jittery and worried. Even when the hug wasn't that tight, I still touch her. I ignore the first thought. That came out of nowhere. "I thought everypony knew by now. Then again, only 'popular' ponies hear of him." I pout-of course she directs everything towards me again. Better ignore that for now.

"Who is it-tell me. Its not like I wouldn't know eventually." It can't be that bad. She must be related to somepony Pirouette had brought home for work or made...never mind.

"You might not realize it, "She grew awkward, I hold her close to me still, my head on her shoulder by now. "But I also have a sister and brother. Sadly, my sister isn't the one that I despise in that category."

"Your brother...?"

"He sells all out diamond accessories. I make jewelry. He just LOVES to one up me at any given time!" She complained. "He's always making me feel.."

"Like you don't mean much?" I shrug off as she looks to me. "Yeah, I figured much. What's his name anyway? Never said I heard of him before."

"Rock Slant," She gave off another huff. "He's a jerk all the time. Mom just allowed him these years, Dad's even worse."

"You won't go no where in life, sis. If your born at the top, you'll stay there. You don't have anything to your name. Me, on the other hoof, happens to be a very different story dear. I got into college free, I'm a top notch lawyer. You, on the one hoof, are just a whorse begging for cash like the whorse you are. Pity, right?"

"I can't say I face the same problem myself," I admit. Pick Pocket's words still ached. "My sister's the same way-a jerk in all the sense of the word. No where close to your brother-she just puts me down like she can, that witch. She's nothing more than a two faced mule. Just watch him fall, begging and you'll just stand there laughing at him. I plan to do the same myself."I spat out, Diamond looked amused by my comment.

"That bad, huh?" She said. "Course, didn't think you had a sister other than that rainbow maned mare-Rainbow Dash, I think." She cuddled in my arms as she laughed, even if by mistake. My cheeks continually burn as she does.

"Course, my mother didn't think 'nothing of what she did. She blames me and puts every ounce of pain on me."

"Humph, I didn't even know you had a mother either," Diamond Tiara replied. I roll my eyes, of course I do. Paint Song must have heard about it earlier, how she managed to get the information astounded me. Only Paint Song had some interest in that-Sweetie Belle lacked interest in her. I'm glad, I didn't want that information to be leaked. She wouldn't know my parents like I didn't know the names of her siblings. When they are on to-never mind that "They put you threw Tarturus, I can see that."

"Hum..?" Why would she get interested in that for? I don't even know why I brought it up. "Of course, many ponies forget I have actual parents." I look away, my eyes drifting towards the stack of books. I let go, flying down to the floor once again. I still want the touch-I wish I had it again for a split second.

"If she does anything to you," A mare with a grey coat and black, sleeked and combed back mane had warned. Her violet eyes were filled with despair. "Tell me, I won't let you stay there a moment longer. I shall never allow her to harm you once more. If you have been hurt again-I'll do everything I can and I won't hold back. I won't allow any pony to do that again. Promise me, okay?"

"You...you won't right?" The response was quiet. "Please don't tell her--I don't want her to know! I-If you try..she'll know and..and..." That mare wiped away the tears.

"Shush, shush," She cooed softly, bringing that poor soul closer. "Your safe with me, your not ever going to be harmed here. I promise you with my life."

"You okay there? Your wings stiffed." I shook my head.

"I..I'm fine, really." My eyes drift. I shouldn't have agreed. Not today. Maybe I should cancel Paint's lesson. No-Rainbow Dash wouldn't do that, she's loyal. I shouldn't either.

"Your okay here," A pink filly cooed. "Come on, don't worry at all. I'll get daddy to get us something to eat. Won't that sound fun?"

"You don't seem to state them much, that I know," Diamond Tiara spoke up before my eyes drifted towards her, my mouth hung down a little. What just happened? She analyzed me, scanning me up and down. Unease was something that I should be used to with her already."Looks like I hit a soft spot."

"Its nothing, really, at all." My voice hitches forward. "Don't worry at all, nothing here to hit." I'm a huge idiot, I just jumped into her-

"Your lying, quite bluntly. It takes an idiot to not see that." Diamond frowned at me. "Just go on, tell. You will eventually."I eyed her. What was she up to?

"Why do you want to know?" I glare at her."Why tell you in the first place? Its not that interesting." Diamond Tiara paused as she placed a book she merely glanced at before down to answer.

"I told you my problem," She spat. "Least you could do is tell me yours." She had me there, but no. She can't know.

"I told you to not trust ponies, didn't I?"

Where did that come from? "I can only say so much, you know?" I giggle nervously, moving back with unease. She'll hurt me, I know she will. I care for her, even if I hate it. When she sees that-- I don't want to do that-being in love makes you do that, right? I have to show my love that way. I don't...want to go through that. She's a jerk, but I-

"Why are you covering it?" Diamond snapped. I have never seen her so curious or angry at me for this reason. "Your covering your bucking tracks. You wouldn't cause a commotion if you didn't have anything to hide." I thought that was normal? Its not?

"I can't tell you, its a secret," My lips curl up. Fear is something high right now-smiling isn't helping me right now. I shouldn't be smiling. "I..rather not get in trouble, okay?"

"Remember Auntie Crystal Wave?" That mare brushed that drowsy soul in a place where they aren't supposed to. That thing that was molded to care for that mare allowed her. She loved her, still does deeply. "We've been consulting with eachother as of late and carefully chose to let her drop off Sleek Finish here, you know, her precious colt that she just adopted?" Anything was better than reliving that event. Sleek was much different than she was-when she was called alone, didn't need to be forced. He took everything in stride, whatever the mare had made them do together, he was glad to do. Sleek was just that fanatic-not that that soul felt violated by Sleek's other attempts. Still, she loved Sleek Finish. Sleek Finish cared too, just more so than her preference zone. Only the mare was allowed to love her that much.

"Ummmhumm..." She mumbled, drowsy and tired. Her fur showed signs of rough housing as the mare, fuzzy in her vision, rubbed her midsection contently and occasionally brushing much closer.

"He wanted to show you lots of love too, sweetie." The mare was content with nuzzling and lightly brushing away the leg. "He doesn't need you to give him your full love. Remember, its exclusive to only me, you and your sister. Even if he shows...too much for his own good." She gave tiny kisses before she pinned her down. When she had, she kissed her with a passion never to be shared with a child. The soul, by now, didn't see it as off. The soul deeply knew it was off, not supposed to be, but why question? She knew best anyway. She was touching somewhere she didn't need to be touching-she was playing a tongue war with a pony much younger.

"Do you know how much I love you? Your sister doesn't appreciate it much. She cries too much." The mare moaned quietly. "Tell, how much do you care about me?" The filly was uncomfortable with that line, knowing if she didn't answer with the correct answer, the end result would wound her more than anything.

"Of course I love you!" Her whispers were so soft. Tear dripped down her tiny cheeks. She agreed, her thoughts telling her never to. But love was love. She accepted the love, no matter if she didn't like the love. Anything for the mare. "Je t'aime."

"Why would you keep your family a secret?"

"Oh, that I can't tell you!" I frown as fast as I smiled. I whimper at her.How come everything bad happens with Diamond Tiara present? Did she know the trigger to pull and project my damn memories? I don't want her to realize. I don't want anypony to realize. I shook my head, ignoring the throbbing legs as I forced myself down into the corner. "I...just can't. Its a...upper class type thing...you know.."

"If you don't tell me here and now, Blank Flank, I will tell somepony else and MAKE them tell me." She threatened, yanking me on her bed away from my corner, pulling me up and pinning me down. "Because, I still care for you. No matter what way I act, blank flank. Now tell me, what the buck's the matter?" She gave me a kiss like she had earlier, but it wasn't the same. My chest heaved as she tried going further with me. She wanted it too-I'm punished. She's punishing me.

"You remember your Auntie's line of work?" The mare's voice was a deadly tone at best. It held such anger that was directed in a calm way towards the poor soul. That filly shrank back beneath the softness of the bed. She didn't move her limbs-they couldn't be moved as music filled her ears. Something classical-but she didn't care. The mare talking was fuzzy, too fuzzy to be seen by her much as she pulled something out. It was something cold and hard that slithered through-a cello bow. It was easy, anything sleek, cold and hard was always her way of punishing. "What was her name? Octavia?" She squeaked as it tapped her harshly on the inside.

""P-Please, Mama-Please stop!" She screamed out multiple times, and by a certain time, her voice was raspy from begging. Her aunt promised her something, but lied to her face clearly. "I-I didn't tell her anything-I swear!"

"That's not what she's been telling me," That mare mused at the thought. She scarred the midsection with ease before she pressed down again, still pushing through. "You told us what happened with Pick Pocket. I can't tell you how angry I am to hear you tell her lies." Her stomach was heated and numb as she screamed again, tears falling in trails.

"I never lied!" She cried again, pleading once more. "She was worried and..and.."

"Don't drag your Aunt into this, don't you agree its wrong?" The cycle of touching and pulling away was what she got used to.

"M-Mama--"

"Aw, look, you care now. I told you to say good bye the day you last saw her, I was right, wasn't I? She didn't come back for you. I wonder where she went." She licked the instrument as blood dripped from her spot. That filly cried again and again. The mare fed her so many lies, her spirits instantly fall with them. Even when knowing the true outcome, her spirits were shot. She didn't care even that Sleek entered the picture, having a turn with her disgusting body. No one would want to get involved anyways. Why would they want to help her? Trust was a delicate thing, even when accidental, its torn easy for her. What's trust mean again?

Tears flung carelessly down my cheeks. Why can't she get off me? I don't want that anymore-I don't want anypony to touch me again. My heart races, please get her off me! If she does, I think I'll go crazy! She nuzzles my neck attempting to calm me-I guess. She has the same look of anger and annoyance. She was pinning me down with such force. Her hoof goes down to investigate with a curiosity I wished it lacked. Why can't she see what I don't want?

"D-Diamond..?"

"I care for you, Scootaloo, don't forget that," Diamond whispered, her breath tickling my ear. "If you won't tell me one way, I'll tell you the other."

"I truly love you-don't think I don't," Sleek said, his words hollow. He was much more forceful, pinning her down. She didn't recognize the foreign object he used instead. He cupped her cheek as she cried that night. "I know what's wrong, and I'll fix it. Don't worry at all." A rippling scream pulsed through her throat that night.

"I-I don't love anypony else-I told you this!" She screamed at him as she felt a barrier break, her screams increased as he shoved a pillow in her mouth. She gagged as she cried, biting down.

"You didn't tell me one way, sweetie," His assurance was wrong, she knew this. "So you'll tell me this way."

"G-Get off me!" My breathing worsened. Please get her off-GET HER OFF! Diamond Tiara didn't listen to me. "P-Please-get off..." Diamond Tiara frowns at me once more, studying me again.

"What's wrong?" She whispers before holding me close, tears forming at the base of her eyes. Wait-why is she crying? " You can't see what you have in front of you. Your an idiot, you know that?"

"Diamond..."My voice is lost. I can't find it. Please end everything. Yet, out of her forcefulness, what she said next maybe worsened everything even more.

"I know what your hiding, I shouldn't be the one confessing." Diamond frowned again at me. "I know your mom perfectly. I know everything. I'll show you that you don't need to hide anymore. I'll show you love."

"GET OFF OF ME!" I screamed this time, pushing off immediately. Please make it stop. Please get me away. Why can't I leave? Diamond looked surprised at me and backed off. Pushing her away was step one, darting off from the window was step two.Diamond didn't seem to take too well to that, she raced of her home just to get to me, being that it was long, it must have taken strength. Then, a thought just hit me while I'm darting away:where am I going? Either way, I dart away, only seeing her figure stop and something clouding my vision for a moment: a prismatic thing that disappears like Diamond.

"JUST RUN, YOU FREAK! GET AWAY FROM US-WE DON'T NEED YOU HERE TO KILL US LIKE YOU DID THE OTHERS!" They all are just like that aren't they?
