A Certain Railgun in Canterlot

Bits and vandals

Fancy and Misaka walked around Canterlot, stopping every now and then so Fancy could make small talk with other seemingly upper class ponies. Misaka had to stifle a laugh the first couple times this occurred. This is almost no different from Academy City, you have to put on a face around people who matter to get ahead. I guess this place has more than just vandalism wrong with it. For some reason this made her feel a little more at ease. When a pony commented on her presence, which happened with surprising infrequency, he would simply tell them that she was new to Canterlot and he was showing her around. So it wasn't exactly a lie, she was glad she didn't have to talk to them herself, most of them seemed somehow, less sincere than Fancy pants. No matter the pony though his word seemed to carry allot of clout. I guess he really is somepony imp-Someone! Someone important!

"So tell me about where you are from? Japan was it? Is it far?" Misaka had been hoping to avoid this topic, knowing that anything she would say would make her sound crazy and anything her would say would make her feel crazy. All she could do was shrug for the thousandth time that morning and answer it anyway.

"I'm not just from a different country, I'm from another world! There are no ponies, well at least none that can talk. There is definitely no magic and people, humans are the dominant species! I have no idea how i ended up here, or how to get back. Which is why I want to see this Princess"

“So you're saying where you come from ponies don't talk, there is no such thing as magic and beings called humans rule the world?” Fancy Pants inquired incredulously, to which Misaka merely nodded.

Fancy gave a hardy, good natured laugh. “Surely you must understand how preposterous that sounds.”
The pair made they're way through the city, attracting suspicious looks from ponies as they passed.

She sighed. She had given up trying to convince herself that this was all some sort of illusion shortly after her meeting with Fancy pants, but was still working on giving up on logic. Several responses came to mind but she had been talking in circles about where she came from for tens of minutes to the... Ugh, unicorn. She rolled her eyes.

“If you think I'm crazy then why are you still walking with me? Don't you have anything better to do than follow around a crazy pon-Person! Crazy person!” She mentally kicked herself for almost referring to herself as a pony. Don't let this place get to you Mikoto.

Fancy smiled, adjusting his monocle again before replying. “I'm a gentlecolt!” He said proudly. “I could never leave a young mare alone when there are ruffians on the loose. Besides, I find you to be quite fascinating. Also I never said I thought you were crazy.” Misaka gave a snide laugh.

“If someone told me they were from a wold of talking ponies I wouldn’t think they were crazy. I would know it.” She stared at the ground with a distant look, her tone of voice became somewhat cynical. At least until today that is.

“Well my dear, that's the benefit of knowing magic is real.” His horn began to glow. “The most amazing things can happen, and you don't think to yourself This is impossible. Instead you think, This is amazing!” A blue flash of light of light from Fancy's horn made Misaka shut her eyes, once she opened them they were no longer standing in the same street. They now stood on soft grass, the sound of running water trickled nearby. Flowers adorned the perimeter of the garden, The busy streets and bustling shops stood a short distance away. They had teleported into a park.

“This is one of my favorite places in all of Canterlot! The Canterlot public gardens!” Misaka looked up at Fancy Pants, his normal smooth smile of a socialite had been replaced by a more fond, natural smile. He clearly had cherished memories of this place. Misaka couldn’t help but smile in kind.

“Ah, and of course there's the old fountain.” He began to turn around. “When ever I come here I always throw a bit...” He froze, and as soon as Misaka's eyes met the fountain she saw why.

“Oh Celestia. Those vandals have defaced the fountain!” Indeed, it had been. In the center of the fountain was a statue of a very regal unicorn, well sort of a unicorn. It had wings to, what would that make it? Regardless! It's had been painted like a clown and it's front left leg had been broken off. Also, Misaka noticed that all the coins in the fountain were missing. She looked over to Fancy Pants, who for only a brief moment had a look of anguish. He took a deep breath, and his normal demeanor returned.

“Those vandals you mentioned earlier, they're the ones who did this?” Misaka stood, glaring at the fountain, a spark arced across her bangs. Fancy Interjected once he saw this.

“Ah, not to worry Ms. Misaka. I'm sure the Princess and the royal guard will have this solved in no time at all. Now come, we shall alert the guard then we may proceed to enjoy our day.” Fancy pants began walking away from the scene, but Misaka lingered for a moment longer, staring at the fountain.
“Hey Fancy Pants!” He turned upon hearing his name, Misaka turned from the fountain and faced him with a devilish smile.

“Yes?”

“You mentioned bits earlier, I wanted to ask you something about them.” Fancy raised an eye brow, but nodded for her to finish. Electricity crackled through the air, arcing from her tail and mane, ozone permeating through the air.

“Do they make any in steel?”
