//------------------------------// // Chapter 9 (Part 2) // Story: Greyscale // by Zoom zoom //------------------------------// Getting the clouds ready was easier said than done thanks to being in the final states of your drug. It was hard to keep up with where anything besides your boss even was in the sea of greys and blacks. Luckily Rainbow was nearly good enough to not need any help so you just had to make sure there wasn't any breaks before bucking the cloud to start it up. Soon enough everything was done and you were heading over to Cheerilee's. "Hold up," cried your boss as she flew up to you. Rain was starting to make both of you soaked so it was getting hard to see anything. "Where are you going?" "Where we agreed," you replied spitting out some water. "We?" "You told Cheerilee we'd be over tonight." "I did?" "Look, I'll be honest. I have no idea where I am right now. Could you just drop me off at my place, it's probably closer." Rainbow took your hoof and lead the way. Seeing only blurs just like your other eye meant all your focus was on the feel of her wet hoof on yours. Though the soaked fur you felt the chilled from the cold skin that still felt soft, a feeling you only were able to feel when cuddling with a girlfriend usually, and was actually a preferable part of a night with them. How Rainbow could have this despite her athletic abilities was astounding. Your focus on her hoof was then as you finally heard her knocking on a door. Within seconds she had released you into the dry home of Cheerilee as you guessed the towel meeting your face so quickly. "Thanks for letting me stay," you called out. "No problem," Rainbow replied. "So ya want a drink or something?" That got you to pause as you looked around without mane in your eye. Cloud walls and floor met you inspection. You were in your bosses house. Rainbow chucked as she came in with two glasses of a dark liquid. "You should see the look on your face. I'll talk to Cheerilee tomorrow about it. I have a pet that I couldn't just leave by himself and I wasn't about to double back just to drop you off so welcome to my humble abode." "This isn't going to help with keeping your friends from teasing you," you said to try and keep your nerves as what this might imply sank in. You took a long sip from the glass... Only to be met with fire in your throat. Scrambling to find water as the sound of your bosses laughter rang in her house was difficult until you finally found relief, only to see a pair of small turtle eyes meet yours and a louder cry of laughter to echo. "This nights gonna be hilarious," Rainbow said though gasps for breath. "Yeah hilarious," you commented as the turtle looked at you with a big apology face.
