In The Time Trap

Prologue: The Time Hole

As all of time and space passed by, a blue police box spun through a swirling sly blue vortex. On the dimensionally transcendental inside of the box (bigger on the inside) was a large white console room with circular indentions all over the wall and a silver console in the middle, which was covered in levers and buttons. At the moment, this console was being polished by a man with blue eyes, long curly brown hair, who was dressed in a brown overcoat, a wide-brimmed fedora, and most notably a multi-colored scarf that stretched down to his feet. This was the Doctor, piloting his T.A.R.DI.S.

Standing next to him was a woman with brown eyes and blonde hair, who was wearing a long pink coat, and a white scarf that stretched down to her feet. This was Romana, the Doctor’s companion and best friend.

At their feet was the oddest looking of the three (which was saying something). I was a robotic dog. It was silver and clunky; its head had two clear ears and red glowing lines for eyes. It was K-9, the Doctor’s second companion.

At that moment, the Doctor and Romana were wondering about where the randomizer that had been installed into the T.A.R.DI.S. would take them next. It would take them to a random point in time and space; there was no telling where it would go next. Suddenly, the T.A.R.DI.S.’s famous materialization sound rang through, giving them their answer.

“Check the space-time coordinates, Romana,” said the Doctor.

Romana compiled and went over to the panel where the coordinates of where and when they were. “Well, that odd,” she said in surprise. “According to this, we are at a point where time and space don’t seen to exist!”

“What?” the Doctor said as he walked over to her location. ”That can’t be right!” he looked at the coordinates. “But apparently, it is.”

“Suggestion, Master,” said K-9. “Suggest you turn on the scanner and see what is outside the ship.”

“Well of course I was going to do that next,” the Doctor said in a sheepish tone. Romana rolled her eyes and pressed the appropriate button. Two doors slid away and revealed something they weren’t expecting at all.

They were in deep space, but there was something else there. It was a black hole, but the edges were blue, and the whole thing was pulsating quite wildly.

The Doctor looked shocked. “ But… that’s a-“

“A massive dimensional rift, Master,” said K-9.

“We know what it is K-9!” the Doctor snapped. Then he took a deep breath. “Sorry, K-9. How close are we to that thing?”

We are approximately 7,889 meters from the rift.” His ears rotated slighty. “Correction, Master. Approximately 7,795 meters from the rift.”

Romana’s eyes widened. “We’re being sucked in!” she realized.

“Affirmative, Mistress.” K-9 said.

“We’ve got to dematerialize away from it!” the Doctor declared.

“Negative, Master,” said K-9. “Attempting to dematerialize away from it would likely result in a time jump that would send us directly through the rift

“Its better then the alternative, which is us being sucked into the rift helplessly,” the Doctor said.

“But Doctor, he’s right,” said Romana.

“We have to try something,” he said to Romana. With a worried look, Romana pressed the dematerialization lever. The T.A.R.D.I.S.’s iconic dematerialization sound rang through, but quickly became distorted as the whole T.A.R.D.I.S. began to shake violently, flashing blue at a rapidly quickening pace.

The Doctor simply looked at K-9. “You know, sometimes I really hate it when your right.”

Then, the T.A.R.D.I.S. travelers felt a sensation of being pulled apart, as everything disappeared into a blue haze.
