//------------------------------// // Chapter 2 // Story: Enlightenment // by boochy1997 //------------------------------// Enlighten was looking through the books that he had in his room. Nothing seemed interesting at that time. All he could really think about was the spell he worked so hard on for two years with no luck. Nothing seemed to come together. He had been missing just something. Something that needed to be there. Something needed to come into his head. Why was he thinking about this now? The spell was bugging him for a while. Like there was some kind of sign that it would all come together if he had just focused on the one tiny thing. Still, a spell to turn any pony into an alicorn? How was that supposed to happen? It was just some dream that he had after he heard about how princesses cadenza had became one. Later princess twilight did the same thing. They both ascended into being an alicorn. It’s what it sounded like anyways. ‘Maybe if I just find one last book in Twilights library, I will finally be able to get this out of my head.’ Enlighten thought. It had to work. Just to get this annoying thought out. He gathered the books Enlighten had gotten the last time he went there. After putting them in the cutie mark bag, which had his cutie mark on it, Enlighten headed straight downstairs. “Mom, I’m going to the library. Be back later.” Enlighten shouted to his mom right before he went right out the door. “If only you would let me respond first.” Dream Maker said. Enlightens mother just sat in the living room thinking about her son. “When will you realize that others do care about you?” Enlighten was running at full speed toward the Twilights library. On the way there, he was thinking about another spell he was working on. This one he was calling the Wings of Wind. A spell that allowed the user to set a waypoint at any location they are at. Later that pony would be able to teleport back to there at any given point in time. The only problem, he couldn’t get it to figure out where to teleport you. Everything else worked fine. Then there’s that. The spell was focused on a symbol that you would place right underneath you with your manna. The circle would react to any point in space you think about. Getting that point to move with the ground in was on, easy. Getting the spell to know to bring you somewhere else, simple enough. At Least, when you're not trying to use certain symbols on the circle that is. Symbols that meant go to. If that were all easy, then why that one thing? ‘Maybe it’s the fact that I am using a simple mark. Maybe I need to remake the thing to have the area you want to go to be marked with a whole different circle.’ Enlighten was thinking. Its seemed to work. He just wasn’t for sure. Once he got to the library, he open the door and stepped right in. Apparently Twilight was in the other room. Spike was in the main room cleaning and rearranging books. “That’s good.” Enlighten said under his breath. He wasn’t really comfortable with a princess being near him. That high of authority just didn’t seem that great around Enlighten. “What is?” Spike asked. The colt just ignored him and put the books he had on the table that was left in the middle on the room. ‘Why does everypony always listen in when I’m talking under my breath. Don't they realize that only causes trouble.’ Enlighten thought as he looked for different ones that can hopefully answer his question for once. “You didn’t answer you know.” Spike said as he got down and looked at the books that Enlighten just put down and ignored. “Honestly, why are you always like this?” “Because if I answer it will only make you angry.” Enlighten replied. “Sorry.” Spike said trying to get the thought out of his mind. “Anything you are looking for?” “Nothing much.” Enlighten answered. “How are you always able to find those books? I can’t even figure out what section they are under.” “They’re in one sectioned off spot.” Enlighten pointed to the one spot off in a corner where everything about the type of magic he uses is. “I just can’t figure out how you can levitate them the way you do.” Spike rolled his eyes and went back to work. “Sorry personal.” Enlighten said going back to looking for the one book he needs. Twilight walked into the room with curiosity on her face. “What’s going on in here?” She said looking right at spike. “Nothing just some random pony.” Spike replied. ‘Another living thing wishing I were dead.’ Enlighten thought. Twilight look at the table then to the colt that was looking carefully at the books in the back corner. “I’ll just check those off as back in ok.” The princess said. ‘Please. Just. Leave.’ The young colt was thinking. He really didn’t like being in the same room with her. “Spike are you almost finished?” Twilight asked Spike while he was getting the M section organized. “Just about.” Spike had said climbing down the ladder he used for organizing. Enlighten had just been looking at one book he was getting a good feeling about. He didn’t know why, just.. there… was… a… good… feeling. . . “I’ll take this and go.” Enlighten said pulling the book out with his mouth. Twilight was putting the books he had brought back where they belonged. “Alright I just need to see its number.” Twilight said. “Couldn’t you jus-” Spike said before being cut off by Enlighten right when he dropped the book while he was putting it in his bags. “You can-” Spike tried again just to be cut off more. “I’m not great at magic. I haven’t exactly grown into it yet.” Twilight stepped in to try and break this up. “Don’t cut Spike off like that!” Twilight just snapped at Enlighten out of nowhere.“Also Spike I’m sure he can’t pick the spell up with his magic. He’s ten.” She had said more calmly. “The number is three seven two point five eight.” Enlighten said. “Thank you.” Twilight replied. She wrote the book down as out and went back to what she was doing beforehand. Enlighten just left the building and went back home. The colt opened the door to his home and started to go up stairs. He opened his door, then took out the book he had just gotten from the library. He opened it up to a random page and saw a six pointed star around some generic pony. Enlighten had saw this before. It was a merkaba. It wouldn’t exactly help here. He started to read the text. He did however find what he was looking for with a different spell. “Finally!” I can get the Wings of Wind spell to work!” Enlighten shouted over joyed. He had just caught himself. “Glad nopony heard that.” He said relieved. All he needed to do was just use the users merkaba in the spell to transport them to the desired location. It was so simple. He reached for the pages he should left right in his cutie mark page. “They aren't here. Where did I leave them!?” Enlighten start to freak out over the loss of these few pieces of paper. He started to look all through his bag without any luck. “If anypony finds them it’s over for me!” “Well, what do they say?” Silver Spoon had asked? “How am I supposed to know? I can’t read this nonsense. It’s not even equestrian. Also why is there this weird circle on it?” Diamond Tiara had said. “Well any ideas?” Silver had said trying to figure out how to know what it says. “I asked my dad and he said something about it being used for making a magic spell. You have any?” Diamond replied. “Why don’t we ask a unicorn then?” Sliver had responded. “How are we supposed to find one?” Diamond asked rather confused. “Twilight probably knows something.” Silver answered. ‘Oh yes we are supposed to ask a princess what a piece of paper means.” “She’s only working in her library right now.” “Fine lets go ask.” Enlighten was looking through the book. Things were getting interesting. without the Wings of Wind spell he might as well work on the other spell he had going on. All he needed was just to figure how the ascension into all three ponies works. Everything else was done. The spell was designed for the any parts of the body that would be added to be made of energy. That way it would be easier to turn back. “This could be it.” Enlighten said to himself when he read one line. “The characteristics of all three ponies come into one. The one doesn’t become all three. The pony understands the three that make up this world. They also understand what goes through their mind and how they think.” He didn’t understand the last part, but what he had was enough. ‘Maybe all I need is this.’ Enlighten thought as he started to draw a picture that could explain everything. If the three come to the pony, then maybe I just have to recreate that in whoever uses this spell.’ He thought. Enlighten was about to make history. He added the last touches to the spell and decided it was time to test it out. Enlighten looked himself in the mirror that he had in his room setting on the floor. He had it there for the spell that he makes. This time however, it would be used to see his new self. He stood there looking himself over. A white coated colt with bright weirdly colored blue eyes. He had a blond mane with looked like a perfect color. It was rare to be born with that. It also matched his manna color. A darker than usual yellow. “Here goes nothing.” He closed his eyes and casted the spell.
