A bright and sunny day in Canterlot brought upon by Princess Celestia was only half over. The sun beamed on all the ponies all around Equestria, Pegasi more than others. The day was going great for . . . most. For others however, it was not so great.

In the castle that holds the Royal family was no more noise than normal. "Ah! C'mon Prince Blueblood! Let me go!" yelled a gray coated colt with a white ring around his left eye.
"What are you going to do about it?" the snobby prince snickered. "After all you're only a normal pony," he saw others laugh along with the bully prince.

Water Ink saw as his father walked by the hall. "Dad!" Water Ink saw his father poke his head around the corner.
Water Ink's father came up to him. "Is everything alright Prince?" he asked paying no mind to his dangling son.
"Dad, why aren't you stopping him?" Water asked his unicorn father.
A hoof brushed along the father's deep black mane. "I'm sorry son, he's one of the ponies I have to protect, along with: Princess Celestia, Princess Cadence, and this new foal in the castle," he pat his son's upside down deep black mane.

As soon as Water's father walked off Princess Celestia came up. "Is everything alright?" she asked in her natural serine voice.
With that Prince Blueblood dropped the young foal. "Yeah, everything's fine," he gulped and followed the Princess.
Water sighed as he saw the pinkish filly snicker. "Sorry about that, Prince Blueblood likes to bully," the Princess shrugged her shoulders and walked off.

Water Ink sighed heavily as rose to his hooves. "I hate Canterlot," he muttered to himself reminding him of how many times Prince Blueblood has risen him to the air. He began walking, seeing many ponies either flying or using their magic. "I wish I can use magic, or even fly!" he crossed his forearms. He pouted with a 'this is unfair' kind of look. "Why can't all ponies just be kind to one another?" he looked out of the castle's window. Water Ink always walks to the castle after he goes to school; his Mom never was home, she's lives in Ponyville.

Water Ink saw his older brother walk up to him. "Hey champ, how's it going?" he asked, his armor reflecting the sunlight.
"Not good Water Steam, not good at all," Water frowned. "I hate Canterlot," he grumbled again.
Water Steam soon saw the magic marks on his left hind leg. "Whoa, did Prince Blueblood do that again?" Steam asked he always was protective of his little brother.
Water Ink nodded his gray head. Water Ink brushed a hoof along the white mark on his left eye. "Yeah, he did bring me upside down . . . again," he grumbled. "You going to do anything about it?" he smiled sheepishly at him.
"What do you think Ink? I can't, I'm a Royal Guard, from 9:00 AM to 6 or 7: PM I am a guard," he hated telling his brother 'no', but he wants to help provide for his dad and brother.

Water frowned and crossed his forearms. "It's no fair," he grumbled. "You're a unicorn, Dad's a unicorn, why can't I be?!" he flailed his arms in anger.
Water's brother shrugged. "I know Ink," he pat the dark brown eyed colt. "I'll see you later," he smiled as he began walking away.

Water Ink sighed. "At least let me bucking find my talent!" he grumbled catching a random Royal Guard off guard. Water rolled his eyes. "Every-pony bullies me," he continued to walk around the castle. Most of the time he can say the names of all the Royal Guards by name just by his coat color.

Ink sat down near another hall. "Why must all ponies be so darn mean to earth ponies?" he pondered as he shifted seats.
After a while he sighed and looked to the sun for a mere moment. Water Ink heard something. It sounded like a young filly. "Come back here Smarty Pants!" she gave a laugh. She seemed to have thrown it to the air. Suddenly the lost doll landed straight on Water Ink's hoof.
"Whoa!" he chuckled almost laughing at the shock he got.
The filly came over. "There you are Smarty Pants," she giggled.
Water Ink rolled his eyes. Great, another unicorn, bet she's going to pick up her doll with her magic. Water Ink was shocked when the filly picked it up with her hoof.

Ink was gap-jawed at the sight of the unicorn not using her powers. "Hehe, um . . . I'm Water Ink," he smiled at the filly.
"I'm Twilight Sparkle," she smiled happily at Ink.
He closed his eyes tightly waiting for her to do something horrible to him. Nothing came except a strange look from Twilight Sparkle. "Aren't you going to do something bad to me?" he rose an eyebrow.
Twilight shook her head. "Oh no, why would I?" she scratched her head lightly.
Ink smiled at her. "Because of me being an earth pony," he looked to his head. "Or because I'm a blank flank," he added as he pointed to his flank.

Suddenly he was thrown aback when Twilight gave him a light kiss. "You're funny," she giggled smiling he looked up to see both his brother and father.
"That's cute," his brother giggled behind his father.

Fourteen years later . . .

"She was always special, now every-pony knows," he smiled as he watched the newly crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle fly off. He smiled looking to his talent of writing. Water however, became a Royal Guard hoping to do the same as his brother and father. He as well heard his mother died years ago. That didn't disturb him because he was a big colt then.
"I hope to see you soon Princess Twilight Sparkle," he muttered to himself as he put on his golden armor in front of every-pony.
