The unthinkable happened next. Her eyes closed, her wings folded to her sides, and she fell towards the small town below.
In The End: Triple Rainbow

Twilight finished cleaning the library and decided to see how Rainbow's results turned out. She walked out of the library and took a look at the sky above. It was very beautiful. Twilight was turning to go back to her studies when something caught her attention. Right in the sky above the center of Ponyville, a cyan Pegasus was falling from the sky. Twilight panicked. She could only watch in horror as he friend hit the ground. Her body was slow to respond. She ran as fast as she could to where Rainbow hit. When she arrived, lying in a heap on the ground was Rainbow Dash. Twilight’s heart stopped. She walked over, a crowd forming behind her. She nudged her friend. No response. "R-Rainbow Dash? Are you ok?" Twilight Said.
Nothing. Tears were forming in her eyes as she tried again and again. She checked her pulse, her breathing, and lastly, her heartbeat. No rhythm of a beat at all. "No, no, No, NO, NO! Rainbow please! Wake up, please!" Twilight cried out. An emergency team came over to take Rainbow. "Please. Don't go...."

"She was the best friend I ever had." Twilight said, tears falling to the ground. She walked back to her seat, looking down the whole way. When she sat down, Applejack put a comforting hoof around her neck. "It's ok Twilight; ya don't need to worry none." Applejack knew it might not have helped, be Twilight settled down some. A pair of unicorns stood on both sides of the casket that held their friend. They took hold of the handles with their magic and walked out of the room where Rainbow's funeral took place.
The five friends followed to the cemetery and watched their one ambitious friend go. Twilight stayed behind and sat at the grave. “I’m sorry, Rainbow. I wish I could’ve helped, you know? I wish I could have saved you before you hit the ground.” Twilight stood up and walked away. She looked behind her once more, saying, “Good bye, featherbrain.”

Twilight sat in her library, reading a book and studying. She was about to turn the page when Fluttershy opened the door and quickly shut it behind her, her legs spread out as if she were trying to keep something out, a panicked look on her face. “What’s wrong Fluttershy?” Twilight asked.
“I saw Rainbow Dash.” She said.
“What?”
“I was out feeding my little ducks and otters and when I turned around, Rainbow Dash was walking along the tree line to the Everfree Forest.” Fluttershy said.
“But Rainbow is dead,” Twilight remarked, “how could she be there?” Fluttershy continued standing in front of the door.
“That’s what I thought, but she was there.” Fluttershy said, tears forming in her eyes.
Twilight walked over to the door and opened it after Fluttershy calmed down. “Let’s go see.” When they walked outside a surprise was waiting. The rest of their friends were standing at the door and in the sky, a triple rainbow shown proudly. “Twilight! We all just saw Rainbow Dash!” Pinkie Pie said.
"It was a bit scary, but how the hay was she walkin' around?" Applejack asked. "Ain't she dead?"
"And explain the new triple rainbow!" Pinkie chirped.
"While we were all goin' about our business, we heard a crash in the center of town and boom, new triple rainbow. Funny thing is, nothing was wrong in the center of town at all." Applejack said, taking a deep breath. Twilight took time to take in all that she had heard. It was strange that all her friends had seen Rainbow Dash, but Applejack is right. Isn’t Rainbow, dead?
After talking for a few minutes, the group decided to visit Rainbow’s grave. When they got there, everything was normal. The dirt was tightly packed on it and nothing was out of place. Upon walking back, Twilight looked behind her. Sitting by the grave, was there friend. Twilight was about to say something when Rainbow took off, leaving the area as if she was never there. “Twilight? You ok sugarcube?” Applejack asked.
Twilight sighed and nodded. “Yes, just my brain playing tricks on me.”

Twilight sat at her study table, reading her book. She was a good length in, when a letter appeared on her desk. It was from, RD? Twilight opened it and began reading.
Twilight,
Thanks for not stopping me for creating a triple rainbow. I thought it was interesting how one was made. (Don’t tell our friends I said that.) Anyways, it hopefully will be amazing. Thanks for having that book.

Twilight closed up the letter. This was before Rainbow died and it got here now? Twilight looked around, now catching a small glance of a rainbow out her window. Twilight shook her head. ‘Stop it Twilight! Rainbow isn't living anymore.
BOOM!
Twilight nearly touch the ceiling when she jump. She ran towards her window, seeing a rainboom in the sky. She rubbed her eyes, hoping it wouldn't be there anymore. Sure enough, it was starting to dissipate, meaning it really just happened. She couldn't stand it anymore. It was time to tell the Princess.

Twilight rolled the letter up and was calling Spike to come send it. Before realizing Spike was helping Rarity. She just decided to wait until he came home, so she set the letter aside and began reading again. After a few hours, Spike came home and the letter was ready to be sent. Spike took a deep breath in when the door opened and closed. Both Spike and Twilight looked over to the door, both pairs of eyes going wide.
“Hi Twilight.” Rainbow said.
