//------------------------------// // Chaos Theory // Story: The Return of Disharmony // by RachWrites //------------------------------// Twilight groaned as she looked at the grayish versions of what her friends had become. They definitely weren't too happy right now, she noticed, but she didn't care. "I don't believe this..." Twilight said. Her friends all looked at her with sour expressions on their faces and she sighed. "I can't believe all my friends... Have turned into complete JERKS!" she shouted. Pinkie, Fluttershy, Applejack and Rarity all smiled at her smugly and Twilight sighed again, scrapping the dirt on the ground. "Well, this means that... Discord's won." Her friends looked at Twilight with unconcerned expressions, expressions that showed they probably didn't even care. Which is the case, it seemed. Spike was now in view of Twilight with Rainbow Dash's element necklace on when he asked, "Wait Twilight, what about Rainbow Dash?" Twilight looked at Spike with the element on and jingling as he walked a little closer to her. "Rainbow Dash is gone, Spike. They're all gone," she replied in a hushed voice. Twilight had the saddest look planted on her face which seemed to stab Spike right in the heart. "But Twilight, don't just want to try to beat Discord?" he asked with sad, big eyes. She shook her head as an answer and sighed once again. She definitely had no idea of how to stop Discord without the elements of harmony; Without her friends. "Ah don't see why we have to, Ponyville looks so much nicer this way!" Applejack lied, biting her lip and widening her eyes afterwards. Twilight groaned. This was most definitely not going well. "We don't have to, guys! Twilight's just a big party pooper!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, folding her hooves in an uncaring at all way. Twilight looked at Pinkie curiously, since when did she start caring? She'd been quiet this whole time! "Yeah, well... Who needs YOU GUYS!" Twilight yelled, hurt by Pinkie's comment. Pinkie smirked and laughed at Twilight's hurt expression, and the rest of the gang followed. Twilight sniffed injured and Spike put his clawed hand on her side, he glared at the girls. The rest of the ponies smirked and walked off, and Twilight's ears drooped. She cried out in frustration and sadness. "With friends like you... Who... needs... Enemies." Twilight whispered as she started to cry. Rainbow Dash flew off in search of Cloudsdale. She was so worried, her home was going to be crushed by Discord's magic! She had to get there as soon as possible. She smiled as she finally reached home. She flapped her wings and called out, and many ponies cheered. She didn't seem to realize that it was all inside her own mind. She sighed out in relief as she flopped down onto the small cloud that she thought was Cloudsdale. Smiling, she decided that this would be the perfect time for a celebratory nap. So she took one. Twilight was still crying. She had been crying for what seemed like hours now. The pain in her heart had not stopped, it felt like the whole thing was being ripped appart. She sobbed as she got up shakily. It was dark out now, but she had no idea what the actual time was, Discord's magic had screwed everything up. Even the fabric of time. Sighing, Twilight walked slowly up the stairs and entered her bedroom. She looked at the purple and green blob on the floor that she knew must be Spike. Her vision was very blurry though, from all her crying. It took awhile for his from to show up clearly. She was right, it was Spike and he was curled up on the fetal position on the floor. Twilight sighed as she cast a healing spell on him and he jumped up in surprise, knocking what looked like letters from the Princess everywhere. "Spike! What are you doing? You should be packing." Twilight ordered. Spike looked at her in confusion, packing? What was Twilight talking about? "Um, why?" Spike asked with a shrug. Twilight groaned and lifted her suit-case from underneath her bed. "Because, Spike. There's nothing left for us here. We have to move somewhere else." Twilight replied. Her idea seemed great in her head, but she actually had no idea where they could go. It seemed like running away. Twilight frowned at Spike who was still confused. "But the Princess sent all these letters, I think she wants you to read them." Spike said smiling. "I don't have time for that, Spike!" Twilight replied. Spike's smile fell and she frowned at him. "Why don't you help me pack up?" Twilight asked briskly. Spike nodded sadly and got her saddle bags out from the drawers. He sighed and looked at Twilight sadly, she was packing tons of books and had a very angry glare on her face. It kind of scared him. "Twilight, don't you care at all!? Equestria could be ruined by Discord!" Spike explained, he was hoping to get Twilight to read all these letters. He sighed as she shook her head in response and sighed sadly. "I'm sorry, Spike. But without my friends what chance does Equestria have?" Twilight replied bitterly. Spike was surprised, he had never seen Twilight so lost and depressed before. She looked hopeless. "So, we're just giving up?" Spike asked, even though he knew what the answer was. Twilight nodded and sighed again. "Yes, Spike... It's over." She replied. Spike's hope shattered, he turned gray just like Twilight and sighed sadly. "Well, what do we do now?" He asked. Twilight smiled sadly at Spike, it looked liked he had finally joined the rest of them. She shook her head as she lifted the Element of Magic crown, she put it into the trash and it hit the bottom with a thump. "I told you, Spike. We're leaving, I don't know where we'll end up though." Twilight reminded him. Spike just nodded absently, Twilight watched as Spike picked up the crown and began to shine it with his claws. "Uh, yeah, that's great.... Hey Twilight? Could I have this since, you know, we're not using it anymore?" He asked. Twilight shrugged, she didn't really care if Spike held on to the crown. She knew she didn't even need it anymore anyways. "Sure, Spike. I don't need it anymore." She replied after a while. Spike chuckled and placed the crown on his head, nothing happened. Not even a little spark. Spike didn't seem to mind though. He smiled as he admired himself in the mirror. "Okay, Spike. You ready to go?" Twilight asked him. Spike nodded and grinned as him. Twilight and Spike walked down the stairs and left the library.
