//------------------------------// // Princess Celestia Meets Her Maker // Story: The God of Two Worlds // by Brian Jacko //------------------------------// Princess Celestia sighed and began writing a letter. "Dear, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Fluttershy and Applejack. I need your help to fix something terrible. I need you to drop everything that you are doing and come to my palace now." She made six copies of the letters and sent them off to each pony. Sure enough, within an hour, all of ponies showed up and bowed to the Princess who was now sitting on her royal throne. Even though it was so very hard for Fluttershy to come see the Princess after what she had done to her, something in her heart told her that she needed to be there. Twilight picked herself up from the floor and asked, "What is the emergency, Princess? We got here as soon as we possibly could." The Princess took out the special chest that held the elements of harmony. She opened it up and placed each element on the proper pony. "I need you to work with me and put an end to something that I thought could be turned to good." "Is it Discord?" Twilight asked. "Yes," the Princess said. "He needs to go." Fluttershy gasped and said, "But I worked so hard to change his ways and he's good now. We can trust him, right?" Twilight Sparkle sighed and said, "I knew that he wouldn't be able to be trusted again. His very name implies something that is not good. I get the intuition that he's just Satan trying to fool us, and the Bible says that Satan will not repent and that his future will be of eternal torment with all of the fallen angels and non-believers." Celestia sighed and humbled herself before the girls. "I have been here for thousands of years and have made the same stupid sinful mistakes even though I knew better." "This kind of reminds me of the book I read in the Bible called Habakkuk." "We need to do this now," the Princess said as she got up. The sounds of many hooves striking against the tiled palace floors echoed throughout the hallway. They all paused when Princess Celestia got to a golden door filled with precious jewels. The Princess opened the door and walked inside. There, Discord was in his luxurious room that he had the Princess build for him. "Well, well, well," he said. "It looks like you have finally come to your senses. I know you came here to turn me back to stone. It's too bad you know that you'll miss the powers that I have given you and the fun we've had together. I know that I will break free in the future because ponies will turn to hate and bitterness and I will be free to roam again!" Twilight stared angrily at the creature and said, "You may have caused much damage and confusion, but you can only do things that God allows and not even you can understand His ways. I don't know if you'll ever be free to run around Ponyville again. It is a disgrace that you had your own room here in the palace, but you will be turning back into stone now and there will be a time when you will be casted into the lake of fire for all eternity." The six pony's elements came together and they turned him back to stone. Princess Celestia looked down at the floor in sadness. "What's the matter, Princess?" Pinkie Pie asked. "Discord is defeated and now we can live in peace." "It's just that he used his magic for me and made me feel..." the Princess paused for a moment and then finished her sentence. "Good. He had magic that was pleasurable to me and he could do some things that I couldn't." "I know it is hard, Princess," Twilight said. "But you did the right thing." "Come with me girls," Celestia said. "We need to check on the human world once more." Celestia and the girls walked back to that room where the magic mirror was. "I don't think it's a good idea that we go back, Princess," Twilight said. "Yeah!" Rainbow Dash added. "The last time I went there, there were a bunch of perverted jerks taking snap shots of my parts." “I have to go back,” Celestia said. Twilight objected, “But Princess, I don't think you’re supposed to be in that world.” Celestia looked down. “I shouldn’t have gone the first time, but now, you see that it is in chaos.” She turned and looked Twilight in the eyes. “I am responsible for the state of their world, so I must be the one to correct it. As an element bearer, you must watch over Equestria while I am gone.” “Won’t you be back soon?” Twilight asked. “I hope so, Twilight,” Celestia said, turning toward the portal. Then she was gone. “Wait, don’t go alone!” Twilight said, but Celestia had put a spell on the mirror to prevent the others from passing through. All that Twilight could do was watch her Princess through the mirror. Celestia’s appearance in front of the converging tanks brought the Brony armies to an awed standstill. She used her magic to turn the vehicles upside down so that they were immobilized. “Go home!” she ordered, and teleported to the next location. Within a matter of hours, she visited the capitols of the major nations of the world. At first it seemed that she would end the fighting, and some leaders even supported her moral crusade. After a while, however, it became clear that only half of the world was on her side. Politicians had made frantic phone calls, and two global coalitions had emerged. The world had already been on the brink of war. Celestia’s appearance and the shifting balance of power had only raised the stakes and made the players more desperate. Once Celestia realized what had happened, she tried to unravel the alliances, but it only turned both sides against her. One dictator even threatened to use a nuclear weapon. Princess Celestia was in great distress and her mood turned very dark. She traveled far away to a remote mountaintop. She was going crazy and she was so angry for what had happened. "I have messed up this world so much and I will now destroy it, by bringing down the sun," she said as she channeled the magic through her horn. Something like a flock of birds came over the horizon. It was a squadron of jet fighters sent to kill her. She ignored them, instead focusing on the sun, which slowly became brighter. Twilight watched helplessly. She was somehow able to use her magic to see through this mirror and she watched the chaos and violence happening. As was her nature, she considered the book in her hoof. She said out loud, “If there’s really a God of these two worlds, you have to do something. Please!” The sun had now doubled in brightness, and the grass began to steam around Celestia’s hooves. A few moments more, and it was too bright for the jet pilots to see, even through their special visors. It was too late though—they had already launched a volley of missiles. The Princess turned towards the threat just as the projectiles arrived. To her amazement, a figure appeared in front of her the second before impact. Twenty warheads detonated on the other side of the thing. Celestia found herself enveloped in thick, sooty smoke, face to face with another being. For a moment, all she could see was a fiery blue glow from its eyes. “Wh-who are you?” she stammered. “Why did you do that?” “This back has been scourged before, ”A strong voice calmly replied. “Why have you done this?” “They made me so angry,” Celestia replied indignantly. “I thought that I could help them live in harmony. Then they began to argue and fight. They used my poor ponies for clop. My ponies—they weren’t made for that!” The smoke thinned around them, and she could make out the form of a man because of the golden glow coming from His skin. “You’re right,” He conceded. I didn’t make the humans for that either.” “I tried to fix them, but they only got worse. This world has become so sick and violent. They’re so messed up. I tried to love and them, but I can’t love them anymore,” she said. Surprisingly, the man in front of her bore scars across his body, despite His radiant nature. “I love them anyway.” “But everything’s wrong!” Celestia cried out. “When Discord came to Equestria, I gave you the power to create the Elements of Harmony. When sin came to this world, I shed my own blood so that all who received me could be cleansed and transformed. There is much evil here, but many are being transformed by My love to live in My love.” Princess Celestia wanted to say something, but the words could not escape her mouth. “Tell me,” He demanded. “You have seen yourself in the mirror. Do you wish to be God of these two worlds?” Celestia gulped and looked down when she realized how wrong she was. “I’m so wrong,” she said. “I killed people and hurt my ponies. I thought I could be God for them, but I ruined this world. It’s my fault. I turned them all against each other until everything was in chaos and I was about to murder everyone. I’m like Discord.” She was bowed over in shame. “Do you wish to be God?” He asked again. She could no longer look at the being in front of her. She laid down and put her head between her hooves. “No.” She sobbed. “I hate myself. I wish to be forgiven, but that’s too much to ask. I’m a Princess, I should be better than this.” “And you will be. I forgive you.” Jesus reached out his pierced hand and touched her, filling her with peace. She cried like a little filly. She felt herself being carried. He said to her softly, “When we return to your world, both worlds will be as they were before all of this happened.” She felt herself pass through the mirror, and looked up through her teary eyes at the great golden alicorn that cradled her in his hooves. Luna, Twilight, and her friends were about to enter the portal to visit the human world when they figured out how to break the spell that was put on the mirror by Celestia. They stopped, astonished at the sight. Twilight, though, was less surprised. The Bible was still in her mind, and she said, “Thank you,” but her friends didn’t understand. “How does she remember?” Celestia asked. “I thought everything would be back the way it was.” Jesus answered, “What you both have learned of Me, I will not take away. You should listen to Twilight Sparkle. As it is written, I have made the student wiser than her teachers. I have special plans for you, Celestia, but now is not the time.” He laid her gingerly on the floor and turned away from them. “Are you leaving?” Celestia asked plaintively. “Yes, but I will not be far away. In the meantime, as I have forgiven and loved you, so you should rule.” "What about my memory problems? What if I forget things again?" Celestia asked. "Just remember to focus on Me and you will do fine. I have made it so that you will not forget about this incident." “Please, one more thing,” Celestia begged. He turned a kindly eye upon her. “Will you take the mirror with you?” she asked. He smiled at her and said, “Very good.” The end.
