Legends Of The Everfree:
Prologue:
It is said that a hybrid race known as the Bat Pony’s, allegedly disappeared over two hundred years ago from existence within Equestria, and nopony knows why for sure. Only one out of ten Bat Ponies were able to successfully reproduce within their populous during their existence, which played a crucial factor in their survival. Many of them were not appreciated, some of them obviously and notoriously known for making noises within the night. However they tend to stay around the caves and forested regions all across the kingdom. When they realized that their race was being threatened by extinction, they did not know what to do. When things seemed critical to the dwindling race, one of the males of a nearby colony approached Princess Celestia at nightfall. The male bat pony (or pony) came from an ancient cave now lost to the ages. He begged her for assistance for the aid he asked of her, she sadly declined; Knowing that some of their race was notorious for thievery…a few bad apples spoiled the bunch. 

After the male had returned, and with much of the colony anticipating the good news, he stated to them that they needed to continue to sustain themselves as best as they could. Many of the colony asked him why she declined, he did not answer.
So as the decades passed on, less and less of them were being seen and heard at night. The screeching and other noises they did had come to a mute within the chilly night air. Then one day, after realizing how long it had been since Celestia had even heard anypony breath a word about them, she grew a little concerned now. She sent scouts to scan as many of the caves and forests as they possibly could within Equestria. They came back to her after months of searching, not a single soul could be found after all of those decades passing by. After another twenty years had passed, it was then let known that they were no longer an existing race of Equestria anymore, and were therefore declared extinct.
So from that day on, nopony has seemed to have ever heard them since then, but rumors however carry on the legend, claiming that if you go into the Everfree Forest at night, you can hear the faint noises of a distinct screech coming from a Bat Pony within the forest. Some accounts of explorers even suggest they still live deep within the Everfree Forest as the last rumored place to contain such a hybrid.

So the story now takes place within present day Equestria, as two Earth Pony explorers who have been the best of friends since they were little, are currently on an expedition to determine whether or not the rumors about the Everfree Forest are true. Could it really sustain such a race anymore? If so, how have they managed? A stallion by the name of Geronimo, who has been studying the Bat Pony phenomenon for over a decade, as well as his best friend, Dr. Terra…or as she’s known by Geronimo as, “Pris” from her full name Prismatic Terra.  The two of them stumble upon something that will change the meaning of the word “hope” forever. Will their search finally come to an end after ten years?
