                    CHAPTER 44
Nothing Like Home

Shining Armor fell unconscious while falling off of the cliff, when half way down the cliff side he woke up due to the fall, and the last thing he saw before he passed out again was an angel like figure flying down from the cliff. She started to cast something with her horn, and continued to follow him down the cliff until his last thought was “This is it I’m going to die, at least my last thoughts were about this angel…” He fell unconscious, and continued down the cliff. Cadence used all her strength in trying to slow him down enough not to hurt him, but to help him. They both finally reached the bottom, and Cadence decided it was a nice time and place to take a nap. A few hours later Shining Armor woke up next to Cadence who was still curled up in a small ball sleeping. He walked over to her, and kissed her on the hear, he said to himself “In my last seconds my mind generated you as an angel, and you are an angel to me. You’ve not only saved me this time, but back in the Canterlot, and many other time too. What could I ever do to just repay such a beautiful creature?” Cadence woke up in the middle of the sentence, and listened closely to Shining Armor’s statement, she hopped up from her resting place to give him a hug for his generosity in words, and said “You’ve already repaid me, why do you think I’m with you, who could be better than you? You’ve vowed to protect me for the rest of your life, you’ve protected me from countless changelings, and will never take any sort of pain. This is my payment back to you, and you deserve more than just his.” Cadence hugged him harder, and slowly let loose her grip, and backed away. “We have to get going, even though I know we’re both tired, we both know what’s at stake if we don’t hurry up. They need us out there, there’s a lot more than just those changelings about. I heard they just dealt with a dragon.” Shining Armor stood up from the ground, and said “My men The ‘Shadow Legion’ dealt with that dragon, I don’t really know what else they did to it after chaining it up. I saved Wolf Tongue's life from the fires of a dragon. I think we need a little more rest. Yes we do have a lot ahead, but I was just held captive for who knows how long, but we’ve been separated for far too long, we need our time to recover.” Shining Armor plopped down on the ground, and said “Will you join me?”
