When Life Opinions Differ

"Mistress Windswept it is 0600. Your work begins at 0700 hours. Please wake up."

The maid was nothing more than a normal personal maid. All in a days work, sometimes Windswept envied how poor the girl was. Her own maid had more freedom than she did. School... Flying lessons... Becoming a proper "Aristomare"... This was her old and still continuous life only one thing was new. Work. Her parents had owned the weather factory since the business had been funded and built do to Luna wanting to uphold a certain friend. One who had understood her.

Windswept sighed groggily, she was afraid of this day coming true. The day her parents had finally built there newest "Keep her in our hooves at all times" scheme into real life. She was the head captain in charge of the winds that would flow east of west that day. Starting tornadoes and gauging it was part her job discription, as was CONTROLLING 300 FEATHER BRAINS! She had met every single one of them. The only one she trusted was that Nimbusca chick. Of course that could be misplaced, but hey she was already in the hole that had been dug for her so why not.

Ironic. She fl 2,000 feet in the air and was stuck in this damned bottomless pit. Windswept laughed at the thought, at the truth of it.

Her freedom was Slavery. She was kept inside a box since she had been born. She wanted out so bad she felt like she would kill for it.

Stepping out of her bed and moving to her bathroom Windswept kept muttering a single phrase, "Today is a chance, tomorrow is freedom."

Her lust for freedom was what drove her in the time of day most ponies wanted to do nothing more than close their eyes again, cursing the sun for waking them if they weren't already up.

Her maids like some ponies families woke her up early usually for lessons...

Combing her hair in slow strokes she untangled her hair naturally tangled hair. It slowly pulled backwards as if in preparation for the coming winds the would be put through.

Looking into the large, icy-like mirror the blue and white pigmented mare smiled a bit at her appearance... She looked absolutely hideous. But she would get compliments anyways. Stallions... They always enjoyed complimenting what she didn't want to be true. She guessed she could just get rid of natural beauty, but in truth all she could do was hate her appearance and discourage herself from finding herself "pretty" or "hot", she refused to admit it.

Moving out of the bathroom Windswept made her way across the rug-covered cloud floor. Her door was opened for her by the only butler in the house in which she thanked him. Keeping on her way she began to fly a little as she went down the stairs, keeping just above the ground.

As she reached the bottom she was surrounded by offers of breakfast, being escorted, any and everything in the right mind straight for the morning. She refused them all kindly, it wasn't the staff she hated.

"How is my little wife-to-be this morning?" The voice belonged to the one person she had once crushed on, but now... Stabbing seemed like a great option.

She didn't necessarily name the box her mother and father had put her in until This! happened. Now it wasn't physically or mentally that she hated Floating stone, it was the fact he moved all his affection towards her if he needed or wanted, but he saw her only as a spouse and a good gene pool. She hated this, Good looking, Good mind, His emotions… She wished they were all real, maybe then she could…

Floating Stone smiled and walked over kissing his mare on the forehead, it made her want him, it made her want to stab him in the back because of what he was playing with. Her heart.

"Good Morning Stone." She said. Smiling as best she could, she had no idea how to express the true feelings she had for him. As a Aristomare she saw him as well breed, charming, very manored, and a source she could trust to entertain.

As a mare she saw a handsome stallion she could love, but saw no love being returned, she guessed he and she could act all day long, truth was she could have easily wanted to stab him, or hate him instead of loving Floating Stone. After all why would you marry a "Factory Director of Winds" and "CEO of Avian Architecture". Yep you guessed it she had been a promised bride in exchange for a new building to be built on the Weather Factory. The one she was in charge of.

Hugging the large stallion real quick she pressed down with one hoof she had already been alone with him and they knew everything about each other already. It had been at least a year when they put together. At age 16 Windswept had still been too young to marry, Floating Stone had already turned 18 and they all were awaiting the first day of the first month the year after she turned 18, Except the couple themselves.

Pushing down on ones shoulder while hugging though was a sign that they needed to talk later. Heading off to work she left Floating Stone waiting for her return later that night.

Windswept took off to work.

-----------------------------

Floating Stone was a sensible stallion and had grown up a Aristostallion himself. He knew the pain of being trapped all day everyday. His work was to check for blueprint flaws. Things that could collapse if not carefully planned out and used properly. He couldn't try and stop or risk getting yelled at again. His father and his father, and so on back had been the builders and architects that had been building this cloud city. He wanted to stop and think. He wasn't allowed to dwell on emotions, but he wanted to figure out why he felt his emotions for Windswept being misplaced on her. Maybe it was because he did not know whether or not he loved her. So the relationship was forced. Didn't mean they couldn't develop feelings.

Floating Stone sighed.

-----------------------

Windswept stared at the disaster, stared at HER disaster. The three hundred Pegasi were crumbling as the wind generator that made all the strong winds blew rampant. Fighting the current and struggling herself, Windswept tried to lunge for the switch. She missed. Smashed into the wall a small plan of personal freedom sprinted through her. Purposefully blowing herself into the wall she knocked herself out.

-------------------------

"Master stone?" A gray Pegasi stallion asked. He wore a tie and had that "I'm a butler and always will be" sort of tone.

"Yes, you are?" Floating Stone replied.

"Mistress Windswept's butler There was a accide-"

"Is she okay?" The rock grey stallion asked frantic in the back of his mind.

"She was knocked out and has a minor concussion she is asleep at the moment. or in a coma" he informed, grumbling the last part under his breath.

Floating Stone tore out of the room like you would expect, but still be surprised about. He raced for the hospital there was only one in this town in which they were both trapped. No more he was getting out of this town today. So was she. He was tired of things forced upon him, he knew she hated things forced upon her. Now one of those things had hurt her and with only a little bit of trouble he had snapped. He knew she wouldn't want to go back. So he would take her off somewhere else and they could live freely. No rules, no slavery.

Rushing through the doors of the hospital he didn't bother asking for a room number. The aristomares and Aristostallions had their own section and it was just five or six beds and a lot of experienced staff.

Seeing the large iron door closing for safety. He charged forward he flung himself into the room. Looking around the few beds.

"Sir are you family or a close friend of any of these patients?" The doctor asked. He had a look of annoyance on his face and a bit of surprise were in his eyes.

"Yes my Bride-to-be. She's right here." Floating Stone said going over to where he finally spotted Windswept. She looked a little banged and it upset him a little to see her this way. What was his source of anger was her parents and his own father.

"I'll give you a few minutes, but visiting hours are over."

"Thanks Doc. Hey is that door soundproof?" Floating stone asked.

Suspicious the doctor studied the stallion up and down.

"Yes it is why do you ask?"

"I work as an architect I designed this room my self. Well more of I perfected it to be perfectly safe and soundproof."

The doctor nodded and walked outside the door locking it from the outside and waiting.

This was his only chance to get them away so as he planned improvisation was the only way. Going to each bed with a patent he covered them completely, he proceeded to the large pane window turning around he lifted his back legs off the ground he kicked the glass broke like it was had been shot by a bazooka.

Closing his eyes he was sprinkled in glass shards he didn't waste anymore time rushing over to Windswept's bed he picked her up off the bed. Putting her on his back and going to the window he jumped instantly opening his wings and gliding down past the cloud edge pulling up a bit so he could glide on the air.

Looking back and forth he spotted a small town far off torwards a large dense looking forest. He set off at high speed, Windswept's weight not nearly as heavy as some of the things he had carried.

She smelt nice too.
