//------------------------------// // Prologue // Story: A shy girl's lament // by ThecynicalGingerpony //------------------------------// Fluttershy woke up with a yawn as she sat up. She moved her long hair away from her face as she looked at the time. She still had plenty of time before school. She never did like feeling rushed. She stretched and got out of bed, straightening her yellow nightgown. She changed her clothes and went to her mirror to deal with her hair. The mess made her sigh. Sometimes the long hair was a bother, but she did prefer it longer. It was fun to play with at times. Her eyes went to her hair ties and she got an idea. Today was a pigtail type day. She fixed herself up before tending to her animals and going downstairs. As usual, her parents weren't home. They were always really busy, since they ran a store by themselves. She didn't blame them for it. Though, she did wish she could get to see them sometimes. She noticed a note from them. It was the usual gone to work note, but there was a small reminder this time. Today was report card day. Fluttershy gulped. Her parents always wanted to see good grades on there, but she did have some troubles in classes. Sometimes it was difficult for her to get things done. And because of that, her parents were threatening to not let her work at the shelter anymore. The pink hair girl shook her head. She didn't want to think about it. Too depressing for this early in the morning, though she didn't feel hungry anymore so she decided no breakfast and went ahead to school. Over all, she wanted to like school, but she couldn't bring herself to. She didn't have any friends. She was the weird shy girl that always had animals with her. No one wanted to talk to her or anything because of it, but she couldn't just abandon the animals. Lately, the only one that would even bother with her in any way was Sunset Shimmer. If she still had her friends, they would help her. They wouldn't let Sunset Shimmer treat her like this. They would let her push her down in anyway or take her homework or anything. Her mind went back to what happened. Everyone fought and wanted Fluttershy to take a side, but she just couldn't. And because of that, she hurt both sides. Now she was alone. She looked at the clouds as she walked. She wanted to be okay. She didn't want to be a bother anyways. In her head, she counted the number of school days left. Maybe afterwards, she wouldn't be alone anymore....
