Luna's Adventures in Time

by Dead Lock

Chapter 3

The Doctor walked out and saw the two princesses standing looking out over Equestria. "Blimley, Luna was right," he muttered. Suddenly the princesses turned around.
"Who are you?" Princess Celestia said suspiciously.
"I uhh," the Doctor stammered, "I'm one of the new gardeners." He finally spit out.
"Alright, well those bushes need trimming, so get to it." Celestia commanded.
"Yes your magesty." The Doctor said bowing, then ran over to the bushes and acted busy. The princesses turned around and continued talking. whew, that was a close one, the Doctor thought. He slipped away toward the castle.
"What could he be doing out there?" Luna thought out loud.
"He's the Doctor, you never know with him." Ditzy said.
"Well he's taking a while." Luna replied.
"You wanna play a game?" Ditzy asked, "I know a few good ones!"
"Alright, what do you want to play?"
"Let's play some checkers!"
"OK, that sounds like fun, could you teach me how to play?"
"You don't know? Alright, it's easy."
The Doctor walked up to the back door of the castle. He saw a group of builders looking over some blueprints. They must be still building the interior, he thought, better check it out. He walked up to one of the builders. "So how's it coming?" The Doctor asked.
"Pretty good." The builder replied without even looking at him. The Doctor walked up to the massive doors. Where are we going to stay? he thought, we can't stay in the castle, but we'll have to go through it if we want to go anywhere else. And we can't risk coming in contact with ourselves from the past, the consequences may be dire. He looked for a way around. no way around. I guess we'll have to sneak through somehow. That will be hard, considering Luna is pretty conspicuous. Better go back and tell them. The Doctor walked back through the garden and saw the two princesses walking toward him. He want over to a nearby bush and started pushing branches around.
"What seems to be the problem?" Celestia asked as they walked by.
"Oh, uhh, I, um, lost my clippers in this bush, and I'm trying to find them." The Doctor stammered. Celestia's horn began to glow, and a pair of hedge clippers rose out of the bushes, surrounded by a yellow aura. "Thank you princess." The Doctor said and began clipping the hedges. The princesses continued walking by him. As soon as they were out of sight, he ran to the spot where the TARDIS was and began feeling for it. When he found the door, him pulled it open, startling Ditzy and Luna, who were enjoying a game of checkers. "I'm back," he said, "And we seem to have a problem."
"What is it Doctor?" Ditzy asked.
"There's no place for us to stay. We could stay in the Ponyville in, but we would have to go through the castle. Me and Ditzy could get through fine, but it's Luna in worried about." The Doctor explained.
"Can't we just stay in the TARDIS?" Ditzy asked.
"We don't have anywhere for Luna to stay."
"Oh."
"So what is your plan?" Luna cut in.
"I think we should find some train or cart that is leaving Canterlot and hide in it." The Doctor told her.
"Sounds good." Ditzy said cheerfully.
"Whoa whoa whoa, slow down," Luna said, "How are we going to find one?"
"Well we can't move the TARDIS, the controls are busted, so we need to figure out when they are bringing in supplies for building, then jump in the cart as it's leaving." The Doctor answered, "Let's get going." They slowly opened the door and snuck out, Luna crouching very low. As the approached the castle, they saw the two princesses. "Shhh, don't let them notice us." The Doctor whispered.
"We already knew that." Luna said, annoyed. They continued to sneak through the bushes until the Doctor stopped them. "What is it?" Luna said.
"Look, a cart full of hay." The Doctor said.
"How convenient!" Retorted Pinkie Pie.
"Alright, so we're gonna... Wait, where did Pinkie come from?"
"That doesn't matter, so what were you saying?" Luna said.
"Oh right, we're gonna wait until they unload all the supplies and then we're gonna hide under the hay." The Doctor said.
"Got it." They snuck up to a bush behind the cart and waited as it was unloaded. When the builders finished, they hopped in the hay.
"Now we wait," the Doctor said, "they should be leaving soon." Just as the Doctor finished, the cart began rumbling and shaking. "Aaand we're off!" Whispered the Doctor.
