CHAPTER 33
Canterlot’s Defense
RainFall got up as the small baby drake entered the testing room, and said “This is excellent, exactly what i needed. What shall i call him?” Spike looked to him, and said “You can call me Spike, that is what everypony calls me.” RainFall picked a few objects up, and tossed them to Spike “You will need these eventually, but we need you to get up into size.” RainFall looked over to the guard near the door, and said “We need a whole lot of random objects to give this dragon so he can grow from the size he is now.” The guard and several others left the room, and returned with random goods from furniture to food. They all set them down near RainFall, and stood back at their posts. RainFall looked to Spike, and said “I’m sorry to say, but we need to chain you up for our safety.” Spike looked to the chain on the ground. It was too big for his head, but he knew about the size he would reach. He grabbed the neck chain, and put it around his neck. RainFall looked at him, and said “Good, now we can give you several things, and see how fast you can grow.” RainFall handed Spike a simple mirror. Spike looked at his reflection, and started to grow at a slow rate. RainFall then handed him a small box, and said “You will need to keep your items in organized space.” Spike placed the mirror in the small box, and started to grow a little more faster. RainFall continued this process until the box was full. He searched the objects until he found a bigger container, at this time Spike was already twice his normal size. Spike looked around in greed, and started to walk toward the pile of objects near him. He instantly stopped with a tug at his neck as the chain strangled him. Spike walked back to the middle of the room. Once he got back there RainFall handed him an object, and said “I want you to walk over there, and back.” Spike refused to do so, and stared at the pile of objects that he was cut off from. He finally decided what hurt could it do if he simply walked to the other side of the room. Spike walked to the wall, and looked back at RainFall. As soon as he reached the other side RainFall grabbed a piece of furniture from the pile, and handed it over to Spike.
“A dragon? Why didn’t you tell me this earlier?!?” Twilight screamed a Cadence. “We didn’t know until recently. A dragonologist was rescued from King Sombra’s castle when he got back to us he told us about the dragon. We had no idea up to that point.” Cadence said after backing away from Twilight. Twilight looked up to Cadence, and said “Sorry it’s just how long I’ve been away from home, it’s difficult I really just want to have a day back in ponyville with all my friends having a nice day. This journey has been tearing me apart, I wake up in the middle of the night from nightmares. I mean I don’t even know how my own brother is doing, last time I saw him you two disappeared without a word.” Cadence walked over to Twilight, and hugged her “Don’t worry everything will be fine, we have RainFall working on Spike to train him to defend you, and Canterlot castle.” Twilight retracted from the hug, and said “I hope everything goes fine. We need to continue otherwise where would we be if we stopped, and waited for a few days?” Twilight turned around, and started to walk off into the distance.
