Memories: Rainbow Dash

Interview

I arrive at Rainbow Dash's home. Without hesitation, I knock on the front door, it didn't take long for the "legendary" Rainbow Dash to reveal herself. She looked tired, but full of confidence, you'd expect that from a old mare who's had quite a life story. I explained why I was there; to interview the fastest pegasus in Equestria for the Equestria Daily paper. It hadn't been long since news were invented, though it has been helpful for ponies all over. Though this job hadn't been as...exciting as I thought. It's a living isn't it?

She politely invites me in and we settle ourselves in the living room. The place was filled with photos of herself and other mares, some as a wonder bolt, some with five other mares and other sorts of memorable times.

"So, Mrs. Dash-"

"You can call me Rainbow Dash."

[I cough to correct my misunderstanding]

"Rainbow Dash, how would you describe your life in a brief description?"

"My life? Well, as you probably know, I'm the fastest flyer in all of Equestria. At least, I used to be. Anyways, I would consider my life to be full of training, practicing, and preparing. Ever since I was a filly, I always dreamed of joining the Wonderbolts, being a pegasus with the most endurance. With the inspiration from Spitfire- who was my favorite Wonderbolt out the rest-, I always motivated myself to do better, I strive perfection in my flying. Always had ever since.

"How was school like as a filly?"

"It wasn't easy, that's of sure. I lived in Cloudsdale my entire childhood. Flight school was piece of cake, I was practically born to be fast. Always was first when a race came to me. Had a good friend beside me too, Gilda. [She chuckles]. She and I were considered the cool ones in the school. That until bullies came along, what were their names? Oh, Dumb-bell and Hoops, yeah, they thought different of us when we cool. Gilda always protected me when colts or fillies acted like that to me.

Gilda was one to be a troublemaker as well. I believe she was kicked out of Flight School for a prank we did, I honestly don't remember. After, I was left alone, not for long though. A new filly came to school, Fluttershy. She was known to be shy, she didn't have any friends, at all. I decieded to change that, ever since then me and her have been best friends.

I remember the day I pulled off the mythical Sonic Rainboom. It started when I saw Fluttershy being bullied by Dumb-bell and Hoops. I swooped in to save her, "Hey leave her alone!" I think I said, darn this old brain. I protected her, won a race, and did the Sonic Rainboom, that's pretty much all that happened. After that, school was easy for me.

"What was it like when you were mid-age?"

"Awesome. Had a good job as a weather pegasus, it didn't pay, that was alright with me. I still kept flying, kept training to become a Wonderbolt."

"Did you have friends to support you on pursuing your dream?"

"Sure did, try the Elements of Harmony!"

[I mimick a "Wow" in amazement]

"They were all my best friends, well of course we had to be, we were the ones who stopped Nightmare Moon and Discord! We always had epic adventures, or as my friend Twilight Sparkle used to say "Friendship is already big enough to be an adventure". I actually liked that. We always learned something new about Fiendship, a lesson of it. We'd write letters to Princess Celestia herself of our discoveries.

Not to be picky but I had my favorite best friend, Pinky Pie. Me and her were very close, we pulled pranks, had lots of fun together. I always liked the nickname she gave me, Dashie, it was catchy, in a way. And she sure knew how bake. [She laughs].

Rarity, also known as the Element of Genurosity, was such a fashionista, she did make dresses so what do you expect. I never liked when she expected me to try some of her dresses out. And wow, was she a drama queen. it actually entertained me when she acted like that.

Applejack, the Element of Honesty, colt, was she an athletic pony. I remember me and always competed against each other, sometimes for fun, and sometimes were serious. She sure does make good apples.

Twilight Sparkle, the most important Element, the Element of Magic. She's an egghead. That is honestly the only thing I could say about her. Though, we would've never defeated or know about Nightmare Moon, we couldn't even had been friends, also with the rest of the Elements.

Fluttershy, I mentioned her before, she was the Element of Kindness, indeed she was. It bothered me sometimes, her shyness sometimes stopped us fom continuing our journeys. What a modest heart she had.

"Did you have any big events other than stopping Nightmare Moon and Discord?"

"Yeah I did. There's the time I went to the Galoping Gala, first time there ever! While I was there I tried to um... Impress the Wonderbolts with my awesomeness! Didn't go as planned. I did my best to make sure they saw that I was meant to become a Wonderbolt. Heck, I threw somepony in the air- on purpose- to get their attention. It all ended up to be a big disaster. It's a long story.

There's the time I attended the competition for flyers. Weird, I wasn't the only one joining, Rarity joined to. Even though she's a unicorn, Twilight gave her wings! Well...I sort of cowarded in that competition. I went in with Rarity, I did my usual routine and sadly failed at it. My last trick was the...Sonic Rainboom. I doubted myself, but still went for it. Well, change of plans occurred, Rarity's wings burned up, she went falling, the Wonderbolts went to save her. I don't know why, but they ended up unconcsious. I saw the scene and flew down to help my friend.

Well, I didn't expect to go so fast! The Sonic Rainboom was made by me once again. I saved them all. The entire crowd cheered for me, it was an exciting feeling. The best part was at the end of the competition, the Wonderbolts actually talked to me, never thought it would happen, but it did.

That's is all the moments that were big, to me. Atleast thats what i thought,The happiest thing happened to me three years later.

Well, I woke up and grabbed my mail and I saw one I never thought I'd see. It had a Wonderbolt symbol on it. That intrigued me, a lot. I read the letter and apparently Spitfire was retiring from the Wonderbolts and offered me her spot, as captain of the team! I literally cried in joy. I never been that happy before.

The next day Spitfire herself came to my front door. She gave the Wonderbolt official uniform. Fit me perfectly. Ever since then I've been happily leading a team of the fastest flyers in Equestria.

"Now that you lived the dream, what do you have to say now?"

"Nothing. I'm glad I made it to be a Wonderbolt, but..." [She looked at a glass cage with the Wonderbolt suit she used to wear, she started to tear]

"Atleast I know I'll be known as a legend"

"Do you have any advice?"

"I'll tell you what my inspiration told me; "Always follow your dreams" ~Spitfire"

"Thank you for your time, Rainbow Dash"
