Lyra slowed down her pace as she entered the Canterlot Square once more.
One reason was because royal guards were searching for her- well they didn't know it was her. For it wasn't the first time she had sneaked in to see all the things Twilight brought back from the human world.

The other reason, to tried. All that running wore her out, so she casually walked near the alleyways, avoiding contact with the guards. She figured since she was already late, there wasn't a reason to run. It wouldn't make a difference. 

What she didn't see, were the two pair of glowing, narrowed, green eyes that followed her cautiously and quietly in the dark alleys. Soon, green magic came from where a unicorn's horn would be. 

The magic was acting like a camera, recording her every move. The display of the 'recording' was playing in another location, a little far off from Canterlot. The watcher chuckled, peering into the trotting figure.

"Yes.... my dear. Better hurry, or your little friends and princesses will be upset." 

The figure stepped into a light, revealing a turquois mane, and black body. "But that's just like Celestia, isn't it? Always worried about little things..... And it was my advantage when I was in Canterlot."  

The evil mare brushed some of her mane aside,while smiling. "However.... since I am no longer welcomed there, this little mare can be a perfect instrument to reaching that portal. You two," she suddenly barked at the two figures following Lyra. "Keep an eye on this little unicorn. We need her if we want to go to that other world."

"Yes..... Queen Chrysalis." The followers said in unison.

Later on, Lyra was being lectured by Twilight.

"Lyra, do you know how embarrassing it is when your group is up in front of a huge class- with Princess Celestia there- saying their the best, top-notch, right-on-the-money group about the study of humans and the main researcher doesn't arrive until the end of the program?"

"Sorry, Twilight. I forgot that was today because I was still researching with Bonbon." Lyra responded dryly.

" Still researching! You said you were done, so that's why we planned this!"

"Well...... nothing we can do about it now."

"Lyra. This is the forth time you've been late. We didn't mind so much when it wasn't a big lecture like this. But this.... it's unacceptable."

"Oh, c'mon Twilight! I was so caught up that I totally forgot. I can try to re-schedule!"

"You can't just 're-schedule.' Ponies may think the same thing will happen and not come."

"Please! One more chance!"

Twilight looked at her for a moment, then sighed. She shook her head as she folded her wings.

"Fine. One more, but that's it." 

"Thanks Twilight!" Lyra said, grinning. She trotted out the door and headed to her hotel room.
