"My Little Pony" and all subsequent properties belong to Hasbro The night was calm except for a light drizzle. Everypony in Ponyville all turned out the lights and laid there sleepy heads down to rest except for Rainbow Dash who was still reading “The Adventures of Daring Doo”. Yet in a small boutique in the Carousel district, Rarity and Sweetie Belle had finished their nightly rituals. With her teeth brushed squeaky clean, her puffy mane combed, and wearing a set of vibrant pink pajamas that her sister had made, Sweetie Belle couldn’t have been a happier filly. She climbed into the fairly large pink bed with her purple companion Mr. Snuggles the bear. Rarity tucked her sister in, and placed a glass of water on the nightstand in case her younger sibling got thirsty. To Sweetie Belle’s delight Rarity had brought her favorite story book “The Mare and the seven pups”. Rarity cleared her throat as she lifted her red spectacles onto her muzzle and began to read the sweet tale from the worn out tome. Even though Rarity began with that famous phrase “once upon a time in the magical land of Equestria” Sweetie Belle was not listening to a single word. She was just happy to be sharing this tender moment with her beloved sister. She tried her best to stay wake to listen to the story but the activities from the day had tuckered out this little filly. She gave a final yawn before closing her eyes and silently drifted into dreamland. Before she could read the end Rarity could see that her little sister has fallen fast asleep holding her precious friend. She closed the book and leaned down to kiss her little sister on the cheek. She turned around and with her magic turned on the musical carousel nightlight and turned off the lights as she made her way to the door. She looked back one last time to see if her sister was truly asleep and as she closed the door she whispered in soft tone “Goodnight my dear sister”. Calm had settled in the boutique but outside the light drizzle had manifested into a dark and terrible storm. A crack of thunder and a flash of lightning awoke the sleeping filly to a dimly lit room. The carousel night light danced in the darkness and played its slow waltz while casting ominous shadows across the room. Sweetie Belle raised the covers over head to drown out the musical night light and return to her slumber , but another crack of thunder and flash of lightning put an end to that. The sheer force of the thunder caused the boutique to shake and thus knocking the night light out of the electrical socket. Now Sweetie Belle was encased in total darkness, she held her dear friend tightly as she looked around the room for the light switch. Another flash came and casted a shadow in the form of beast onto the wall. Sweetie Belle raised the covers once more to hide from the terrible apparition. Yet there was no sound of a beast and she lifted her head out of the covers to look for the beast, but another flash brought back the monstrosity and Sweetie Belle returned to the safety of her covers. With her comrade in hoof she began to formulate a plan to escape her room .She thought to herself if she galloped in a straight line from her bed she would reach the door and escape being gobbled up by the beast. She counted to down from three and then she shot out her bed as quick as a flash with her comrade in her jaws. It was a sweet victory for her, but alas it was short lived because she had forgotten that her room was connected to the center of the boutique. The flash came back with vengeance and summoned more shadow beasts and gave Rarity’s mannequins life in the shadows. The cracks of thunder and lightning became too numerous and now Sweetie belle was trapped in the center by these terrible shades. She looked for an escape route but the shadowy apparitions were everywhere. She held her stuffed friend tightly as she felt her impending doom approach her, but ray hope shined through the darkness. The door up the stairs to Rarity’s room was slightly ajar and inside Rarity was combing her mane once again. As she was getting into her silk night gown she heard the sound of small hooves galloping up the stairs. She turned around to see her door swing open and Sweetie Belle gasping for air and her purple bear in hoof. Sweetie was verge of tears as she could feel the warm rays of light and see her big sister. Before Rarity could utter a single word Sweetie Belle lunged onto her sister and knocked her onto the bed. Rarity was dumbfounded as to what had upset her little sister. She looked out the window to see the raging storm and it all came together. She looked down to her crying little sister who had buried her muzzle into her chest and gave a small chuckle as she remembered when she was a filly how these dreadful storms had frightened her. She ran a hoof down the crying filly’s mane and said in a motherly tone “Would you like to sleep here with me”. Sweetie Belle wiped away the tears and looked up to her sister and nodded yes. Rarity still holding her dear sister lifted the sheets over them and gave Sweetie Belle another kiss on the cheek to reassure her everything would be alright. Rarity turned off the lights and kept her younger sibling in her hoofs as she sung a sweet lullaby. The stormed raged on outside still casting its evil shadows but Sweetie Belle was no longer afraid because she knew that her and Mr. Snuggles had conquered those terrible shades and was now in the arms of her big sister where no monster could gobble her up. After being tuckered out again because her terrifying ordeal she finally fell asleep in the hooves of her dear sister. Rarity could smile as she looked at the peaceful face of her sister, but she made a mental note to give Rainbow Dash a stern talking about letting a light drizzle turn into dreadful storm. She let out a small yawn and slowly drifted to sleep with her dear sister. Finally peace had befallen the boutique in the Carousel district.
