As Princess Celstia's sun began to rise, Fluttershy was making her way upstairs to wake Lightning Twister. She opened her bedroom door and walked over to her sleeping son. Fluttershy gently smiled at her son as she watched his chest slowly rise and fall.
After a minute, Fluttershy kissed him on the forehead and said softly, "Lightning, It's time wake up sweetheart."
Hearing his mother's gentle voice, Lightning sat up in the bed and let out a tired yawn. He rubbed his eyes with his hooves before smiling at his mother.
"Good morning Momma!" Lightning said softly as he rubbed one of his eyes one more time with his hoof.
"Good morning sweetheart, do you sleep okay last night?" Fluttershy asked him
Lightning smiled and said, "Yes I did Momma."
"That's good, would you like some breakfast before you go to school?" Fluttershy asked gently
Lightning was a bit nervous about going to school because he feared running into Diamond Tiara again. However he remembered last night when they eating dinner, Fluttershy had told him that Diamond Tiara was going to be home schooled from now on, so he wouldn't have to worry about her bullying him anymore. Remembering all this made Lightning much more comfortable with going to school.
Remembering Fluttershy's question Lightning answered politely, "Yes please Momma."
Fluttershy nodded and went her way downstairs with Lightning following her. She quickly made Lightning some toast with zap apple jam to eat for breakfast. When Lightning finished eating, he heard a knock on the door, and he went to open it. When he opened the door he saw Applebloom standing in front of him before she gasped and tackled him into a hug.
"Thank Celestia your alright Lightning. Me and the other girls were worried sick about you after what happened yesterday." Applebloom said happily.
Lightning wrapped a foreleg around Applebloom's neck and returned the hug while saying, "Don't worry Applebloom, I'm okay. I'm sorry I worried all of you."
The two finally broke the hug and smiled at each other before Fluttershy came into the room and approached them.
"Good Morning Applebloom." Fluttershy said cheerfully. "Are you here to take Lightning to school?"
Applebloom nodded her head and said, "Yep! But I have to get Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle first. Is it okay if Lightning comes with me Fluttershy?"
Fluttershy smiled gently at the filly and said, "Of course it is Applebloom!"
Lightning and Applebloom both smiled as Lightning went up to his mother and hugged her. Fluttershy wrapped her forelegs around her son and held him for a moment in her loving embrace.
"Thank you Momma!" Lightning said happily.
Fluttershy broke the hug and put her hooves on Lightning's shoulders while smiling at him.
"Your welcome sweetheart." Fluttershy said gently. "You be good and remember what I told you about dealing with bullies."
Lightning nodded his head and hugged his mother once again and Fluttershy did the same.
"Bye Momma I'll see you tonight." Lightning said softly before kissing Fluttershy on the cheek. "I love you!"
Fluttershy watched as Lightning and Applebloom ran off towards Ponyville. and smiled at them
"I love you too!" Fluttershy shouted before going back inside. When she closed the door, she smiled and thought of a wonderful idea.
After about thirty minutes, Applebloom and Lightning Twister had finally gathered their friends. Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo did the same thing as Applebloom did when she first saw lightning this morning, and Lightning reassured them both that he was okay. With all four friends together again they ran to school not wanting to be late. When they arrived they saw Miss Cheerilee standing at the door to greet them. Cheerilee smiled warmly at the four and trotted up to them. Lightning was a bit nervous about facing Cheerilee. He didn't know if she was mad at him for Running away yesterday.
"Hello Lightning!" Cheerilee said warmly to Lightning Twister. "I'm so glad to see your alright. When the girls told me what happened yesterday, I was so worried about you."
Lightning lowered his head and sadness and said, "I'm sorry I ran away Miss Cheerilee. Please don't be mad at me."
Cheerilee put her hoof under Lightnings chin and gently lifted his head.
She gave him a caring smile and said, "I'm not mad at you dear. I'm just glad to see your safe. But next time when somepony is bothering you just come see me."
Lightning smiled at Cheerilee as she said the exact same words his mother had told him last night. Lightning nodded his head as Cheerilee stroked his mane.
"Alright my little ponies let's go inside." Cheerilee said before going inside. Lightning and his friends followed her ready to start the day."
When recess came, Lightning was asked to stay inside to discuss what he had missed yesterday. This gave the Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo the opportunity to discuss something. After a few minutes, Lightning was finished talking with Cheerilee and went outside to play with his friends. He looked around and saw Sweetie Belle waving her hooves in the air wildly while shouting his name. Lightning went over to his friends and sat down with them at a table.
They all smiled at Lightning as Scootaloo said, "Hey Lightning, we want to ask you something."
"The girls and I were talking while you were inside and we wanted to know if you would like to become a member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders." Applebloom said happily
Lightning said nothing and looked at them curiously. He remembered them telling him that they were the CMC together but he didn't know what the CMC actually was.
Sweetie Belle noticed his confusion and giggled before she explained to Lightning what the CMC was.
"The Cutie Mark Crusaders is a club for ponies that are trying to get their cutie mark. Since you didn't have a cutie mark and since your also our friend we were thinking we thought it would be fun if you joined the crusaders and we can all earn our cutie marks together."
Lightning smiled and said, "I would like that girls. I would love to be part of the Cutie Mark Crusaders."
The three fillies cheered as they wrapped Lightning in a group hug. As they broke the hug, the school bell rang and the group of friends went inside. About an hour later. the bell rang once more and the school day came to an end.
"Alright my little ponies have a great weekend." Miss Cheerilee said happily as the students left the school.
Lightning and his friends were making their way down the street as Scootaloo bounced around happily.
"What an awesome way to start a weekend!" she cheered. "We're finally free of Diamond Tiara, Lightning's going to be a member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, and tomorrow Lightning and I have our first flying lesson with Rainbow Dash!"
the group smiled at scootaloo as Sweetie Belle spoke up.
"Come on girls, let's take Lightning over to the clubhouse!"
The fillies and Lightning smiled as they ran towards the clubhouse. However when they reached halfway they ran into Applejack.
"Hi Auntie Applejack!" Lightning said cheerfully as he went up to the country mare and hugged her.
"Hey there Lightning, I've been looking all over for ya sugarcube." Applejack said as she returned Lightning's hug.
"Hey Sis guess what, Lightning's going to be New member of the Cutie Mark Crusaders!" Applebloom cheered to her sister
Applejack smiled and said, "Well ain't that nice. you just be careful Lightning, those three fillies know how to cause trouble."
Lightning let out a small giggle and said, "I will Auntie Applejack!"
"We were just on our way to show Lightning the clubhouse." Sweetie Belle said cheerfully
Applejack smiled at Sweetie Belle as she gently rubbed lightning's shoulder with her hoof.
"Well that sounds fine and dandy sugarcube, but that may have to wait until tomorrow." Applejack said before looking at Lightning. "Your Momma's got a special surprise for ya Lightning, and she wants ya to come home."
"Really a surprise for me?" Lightning said curiously.
Applejack laughed and said, "That's right sugarcube, she asked me to come find ya so I can take ya home."
Lightning nodded his head and looked at his friends who all smiled at him.
"We'll show you the clubhouse tomorrow after our flying lesson Lightning." Scootaloo said
Lightning nodded his head once more and said, "Bye girls, I'll see you tomorrow." Lightning smiled and turned to face Applejack. "I'm ready to go home now Auntie Applejack."
Applejack smiled at the colt and picked him up.
She put him and on her back and said, "Alright, hold on tight sugarcube."
With that said, Appljack quickly made her way towards Fluttershy's cottage with the CMC shouting goodbye to Lightning. The sun was beginning to set by the time Applejack arrived at Fluttershy's house. Applejack let Lightning off of her back, and the little colt turned around to look at her.
"Alright Lightning I have to go." Applejack said before she gave Lightning a hug and nuzzled his cheek. "You tell your Momma I said hi okay?"
Lightning smiled at and hugged her again her while saying, "I will Auntie Applejack I Love you."
"I love you too sugarcube." Applejack said gently before she returned the hug and a kissed Lightning on the forehead.
The two broke the hug and Lightning quickly kissed Applejack on the cheek before running home. When he went inside he looked around and couldn't find Fluttershy.
"Momma!" Lightning called out.
Fluttershy made her way out of the Kitchen and saw her son. Lightning ran up to her and hugged her. Fluttershy returned the hug and nuzzled Lightning and Lightning did the same.
"Hi sweetheart, how was school toady?" Fluttershy asked sweetly and curiously
"It was great Momma It was a lot better now that Diamond Tiara's gone." Lightning said Happily
"That's great to hear sweetie, now let's go upstairs. I have a special surprise for you." Fluttershy said gently
Lightning smiled and Followed his mother upstairs.
When the reached the top of the staircase Fluttershy turned around and said, "Alright Lightning, I wan't you to close your eyes."
Lightning did as he was told and closed his little eyes. he followed his mothers sweet and gentle voice down the hallway. Lightning opened his eyes a small bit, but he was caught by Fluttershy.
"Ahah! No peeking!" Fluttershy said
Lightning giggled and closed his eyes once again. He continued to follow Fluttershy's voice until she told him to stop. The now stood in front of a door. With Lightning's eyes still closed Fluttershy opened the door gently nudged Lightning to go forward. Lightning took a few small steps until Fluttershy said stop again.
"Alright sweetheart, you can open your eyes now."
Lightning nodded and opened his eyes. When he did his eyes went wide with amazement. He was inside a simple down to earth room that had the same natural wood as Fluttershy's bedroom, but it had a bed and window that had a beautiful view of the sunset.
"W-what is this M-Momma?" Lightning stuttered in amazement.
Fluttershy giggled and sweetly said to her son, "This is your surprise sweetheart, welcome to your new bedroom."
"M-My!?" was all Lightning could say before tears of happiness started to stream down his face. he immediately jumped into his mother and hugged her.
"Th-thank you M-Momma, I-I l-love it!" Lightning cried happily.
Fluttershy's heart melted and she wrapped a soft gentle wing around her son.
"I'm so glad you like sweetheart, I asked Your Auntie Applejack to make it for you." Fluttershy said gently as she rubbed her sons back with her wing.
Lightning said nothing as he continued to cry tears of joy. Fluttershy wrapped her forelegs and both of her wings around Lighting as Lightning's head rested on Fluttershy's neck. The two stayed that way for a while until Fluttershy broke the hug.
"Alright sweetheart, you go take a bath while I make us some dinner."
Lightning nodded his head and kissed his mothers cheek before saying, "Okay Momma! thank you again for my new room! I love it and I love you"
Fluttershy nuzzle Lightning lovingly and said, "I love you to my little one. Now you go take a bath, Dinner will be ready soon."
Lightning nodded his head once again and made his way to the bathroom while Fluttershy made her way downstairs. After Lightning had a bath he went downstairs and went into the kitchen. on the table he saw his mother's delicious soup she made last night as well as her delicious salad. Lightning and Fluttershy ate dinner together, and by the time they were finished, it was dark out and Lightning was tired.
Fluttershy and Lightning went upstairs and went to Lightning's new bedroom. Fluttershy helped Lightning into his bed, and tucked him in. The bed was large and soft like Fluttershy's. Fluttershy then lit a candle that gave the room a nice dim glow so Lightning wouldn't be scared of the dark.
Fluttershy gently smiled at her son and said, "Alright sweetheart, my room is right beside yours and I'll be there if you need me okay?"
Lightning smiled and said, "Okay Momma, I love you!"
Lightning yawned as Fluttershy kissed his forehead and gently strokes his mane with her hoof.
"I love you too my baby boy." Fluttershy said lovingly.
After a minute Lightning fell asleep and Fluttershy gently gave him one more kiss on the forehead. She then very quietly left the room as Princess Luna's beautiful moon shined down on Lightning Twister.
