//------------------------------// // Advice // Story: My Daughters // by ThunderCracker //------------------------------// Dennis woke up with both Celestia and Luna with their arms wrapped around him trapping him in a tight hug. He squirmed to get out, but they had the tightest grip on him. He chuckled and wrapped his arms around them and held them close. It was the warmest thing he's ever felt...well, other than when he first found them and the all laid on top of him. But this was just as warm. They both snuggled closer with Dennis letting out sighs. Celestia rested her head on Dennis' chest while Luna rested her's on his bicep. Dennis, as much as he loved this moment, managed to squeeze his way out of their imprisoning hug. He tip-toed over to the door and reached for the doorknob but then looked back at the bed. He smiled at his daughters sleeping cutely and walked over to them. He leaned down and kissed both of them on the head. He walked back over to the door and quietly opened it. He quietly closed the door behind him then walked into the living room and sat on the couch. These past years, Dennis has felt very, lonely. He's never been in a relationship before. And the girls could use a mom. If that mom wouldn't freak out when she saw four ponies before her eyes. He heard the door open and Luna peaked her head past the wall. Dennis looked at her and she walked over to him and sat down next to him. "What's wrong?" She whispered. "Loneliness..." Dennis whispered back. Luna sighed and wrapped her father in a tight embrace. "It's okay. You'll find someone." She replied trying to get Dennis' hopes up. "Luna, this city is dead, I doubt I'll find the right woman. Or any woman to be exact." He replied. "Oh come on Dad. You just have to look." Luna retorted. That seemed to do the trick because a small grin spread across Dennis' face. He wrapped his arms around Luna and returned the embrace. "Thanks Luna, really helps." Dennis whispered. "Anything for you Dad." Luna replied with a giggle. "I'll start tomorrow." Dennis said. Dennis was getting ready for his search. He took a shower, put a fresh pair of clothes on then grabbed his coat and walked out the door. They all looked at the door. "Wheres he going?" Cadence asked. "He's looking for that special someone." Luna said. They all smiled and walked into the kitchen. Dennis looked around for a girl. He went to his favorite store, fast food place, even his favorite spot to just, sit down and relax. It was a lost cause. There weren't any people around. The only girls he tried to talk to either looked at him weird, or didn't look at all. They just kept walking. Dennis sat down on the bench and sulked. Well, at least you tried. Heh, not like that would mean any-oh my god... He thought. There she was. The most beautiful woman he's ever seen. I've never seen her before. Did she just move here? Nah, can't be. Why would she move to this shit hole of a city? She probably lived here before, I've just never came across her until now. (How many people do I come across everyday?) He thought. He stood up and casually walked over to her with a confident smile on his face. She saw him approaching and returned the smile. Dennis almost melted at her smile. It was gorgeous. He sat down on the bench next to her. "Uh, hey. Whats up?" He asked. "Ah nothing, just reading." She replied. "Hmm. What're you reading?" He asked. "Infinity." She answered. "Ah. The name's Dennis by the way." Dennis said rubbing the back of his neck. She giggled. "My name's Denise. Nice to meet you, Dennis." She replied looking back down at her book. Dennis chuckled and inspected her more. She had straight black hair with red highlights on the left side. She had deep red eyes, in front of them were black glasses. He couldn't see the brand because it hid behind her hair. "So, what do you like to do?" He asked. "Read, and write. I like to sing a bit also." Denise replied, "What do you like to do?" "Uh, games, reading, writing, playing guitar and bass. I can sing a bit too." Dennis replied. "Really? Can you play for me?" She asked. "I would, but I don't have my Acoustic with me right now. Sorry." He replied. "It's alright. How about you bring it here tomorrow, so I can hear you play." She said. "Tomorrow. When?" Dennis asked. "8:00" She replied. "It's a date then." Dennis said. She looked down at her book and the closed it. "I uh, sorry... Denise." "No, no it's okay really just uh..." She couldn't finish. They both stood up and looked around awkwardly. Dennis rubbed the back of his neck and Denise held her book close to her chest. "Yeeeaaahhh..." Dennis said, "Tomorrow then?" Denise nodded then walked off. Dennis did the same and walked home with his spirits lifted. He unlocked the door and walked in closing the door behind him. He spotted them sitting on the couch waiting for him. Luna was the first to walk over to him. "Well? How did it go?" She asked. "Perfect. Thank you Luna." Dennis answered hugging Luna tightly. "Anything for you Dad." She replied returning the hug. "So. Who'd you meet?" Celestia asked. "Her name, is Denise," Dennis replied with a smile, "and we're meeting at the same spot that we met tomorrow." "That's great!" Cadence said jumping up and down then hugging Dennis. "I'm happy for you Dad. We all are." Celestia said joining the hug. "Great job Dad." Shining said joining the group hug. "Thank you. All of you. For helping me get off my lazy bum and looking for a girl." Dennis said. They all giggled and hugged each other. "Hey Dad?" Luna asked. "Hmm?" "Whats for dinner?" They laughed and then walked into the kitchen.
