A Lunestia Story

by Bakmah Genesis

End: Lose of a love

Two hundred and eighty years. Two hundred eighty years of love, pain, and, of course, the occasional sex session. After all two hundred and eighty years, her love for Luna never changed. She loved her more than anything. And yet, here she sat. Lying in her bed, refusing to look up at the moon and see the image that was now imprinted on its surface.

It has only been a few hours after the banishment of Nightmare Moon and Luna. She felt so stupid and guilty. She was with Luna so much over the years and not once has she seen the pain well up inside the indigo mare. It wasn't until she turned into Nightmare Moon and attempted to kill her did she see the hate. She didn't know wether it was the nightmare or Luna, but it still made her guilty. The only love she had ever expirenced sent to be banished on the moon.

Two hundred and eighty years this has built up. And now it burst. Bringing darkness and chaos with it. The Luna she loved was gone, replaced by an evil figure that hated her to the core and would love nothing more than her head upon a platter. How could something like this ever happen? How COULD she let it happen?

Celestia buried her head into the pillows and sobbed into the soft object. Her body racked with each sob, crying out her pain, guilt, and self-hatred. It was tearing her apart and she knew it. She stopped and sat up.

No. She had to keep strong. She knew that the real Luna would have wanted her to keep strong. Not crumble and shrivel up in self-hatred and guilt. She would want her to move on.

She took a shaky breath and got off the bed and walked onto the balcony. She looked over the remains of the once beautiful castle. It stood in ruins after the battle with Nightmare Moon. Bending at the knees, Celestia leaped forward and into the air. She guided herself to the familiar spot by the lake. The spot where they confessed and would spend every evening, enjoying each others company as the sun set beyond the horizon.

She landed by a single oak tree just off the shore where the two would sometimes lay. Celestia's horn glowed and something started to etch itself into the tree. After placing multiple spells around it, she stepped back and admired her work.

Luna X Celestia
Forever and always. Until the sun and moon are no more

She smiled and took off into the air. She looked up at the moon as it reached its zenith. She stared at the image of Nightmare Moon imprinted on the surface.

"Good bye, my love. I will always love you."
