It was a short walk back to our room after the meeting with the Princess of the Sun and I was slightly confused about the matter. ‘Why did I need to go down there?’ I like it up here, It is quiet and the beds are comfortable. I look over to my first companion Sam and see her looking at me.
“What?....” Is all I ask while she continues to stare. “No seriously, what is it? Have I got something on my face?” at this point she decides to reply before I become frantic.
“It is nothing….. but about earlier",
"What of it?"
"What I did was rather stupid. From the get go I could tell you were uncomfortable but I persisted. I know you allowed me in the end but I still followed you in.” She gave me a slightly downcast look as I look at her slightly confused and worried at seeing her sad a lot lately. I stop and lean down to her, giving her a quick hug and kiss on the head. (I think i’ll get used to this).
“Don’t you fret at all okay. What you did was not a problem but might I add, please watch where you sit down in the future.” This makes her giggle in amusement and lightly punch me in the arm.
“I’ll be more careful *giggle* but i’d have to feel it first to know where I was sitting.” I blush madly and take a swing at her head -which she dodges easily- for such a terrible joke.
“Hardy har har, Shut it you! You just wish your breasts were bigger.” I reply angrily and don’t notice when I cop a punch straight to the stomach making me bend over in pain. “Totally worth it!” I wheeze out breathlessly as I try to catch my breath. “Okay, I think we’re done with jokes now. Lets just get back to our room to pack for tomorrow don’t you think.”
“Yeah, Yeah. Might as well and after we can go for a walk around get to see the sights before we leave.” Sam added as we head back toward our room both blushing and me still holding my stomach in pain. After a few minutes of boring walking back to our room we walk inside to see the room the same as usual with Mawile sitting on the bed having a chat with Bane about something but looking back at Sam noting her shuffle awkwardly I can see the blush on her face.
“Mawile, Bane. What are you up to?” They both jump at not noticing us walk in and turn around to us sheepishly.
“Uh, umm, Nothing at all.” Mawile says quickly.
“Really?” I ask knowing he was lying through his teeth. This time Sam adds something.
“Really now! Well then why were you discussing about Rob and I?” Mawile Just stares at us shiftily and puts on a brave face.
“I was discussing with bane whether the idea of master and you being together is a bad idea.” He admits causing me stare at him angrily and Him and Bane to shuffle worriedly.
“That doesn’t matter at this point. We are going to Ponyville tomorrow and so I need you all to pack your things.” Grumbling slightly they all obliged in doing so. They didn’t really have anything of their own so they helped pack ours. It took only a few minutes to do so and that left us with nothing to do. We sat around bored with nothing to do. “Well…. This is a drag.” I state simply sitting back in my bed.
Bane comes over and sit on me and stares into my face with adorable puppy-dog eyes. “We could outside and play, we’ve been stuck inside for ages. I’m starting to think we’re being neglected by you.”
“I’d never neglect you guys, I’ve just been busy with things.” I answer.
“Like. What?”
“Ummm, preparing. Actually let’s go outside. It’s boring in here anyways, maybe we can have you guys spar a bit. How does that sound?” Everyone looks at me with smiles and nods. “Good, let’s go and have some fun until we have to go tomorrow.” We all get up happily and rush for the door and out into the hall making a nearby maid faint from fright. We ignored her from all our excitement and race for the ways to the outside. We make it outside with me huffing a little from all the running and rush to the area we showed off our abilities four days ago.
We make it to our area and quickly set up for sparring. “Ok first will be Bane and Sam, seeing as Dark types are immune to psychics, Bane will have the advantage. Are you good with this?” Sam instantly glares at me.
“How am I gonna beat her then if she’s immune?”
“Do what you did to save me from the pack. Use the environment to your advantage. Are you good for this?”
“I guess so.” She replies.
“Great, let’s begin.” By this point a few of the off duty castle guard have appeared to watch us as well as a few castle staff. I set Sam at one end of the field and Bane on the other, I then stand on the side lines to call for the beginning. “Alright, here goes.” I then pick up my voice so all that are here can hear me. “Today we have a sparring match between the Kirlia, Sam and the Poochyena, Bane. Are you ready?” I call out but the last part for the crowd and the opponents. I get a round of nods in my direction. “Great, Let the battle begin……. NOW!”
At that call the fun began with Bane going in for a tackle with Sam uses psychic to pick up nearby items and throw them at her. The crowd stares in amazement as the debris are sent at Bane but to be instantly dodged and returned with a bite attack but is effortlessly dodged by Sam. Sam returns the offensive with more psychically thrown objects and scores a hit to Banes side knocking her over. The crowd ooed at the attack into Banes side but sigh in relief at seeing her get up and ready for more. Bane counter-attacked with another bite and scores a hit on Sam’s arm causing her to screech in pain and threw her off, Bane lands easily and stands back at the beginning awaiting Sam’s next move. Sam uses psychic again and throws rocks and wood at Bane and scores a hit to the pup making her topple over. Just as i’m about to call out Sam’s victory Bane begins to glow, the crowd stares in amazement at what is beginning to unfold.
“Bane’s evolving, finally, it has taken nearly too long.” I continue to look and watch as Bane begins to grow and change shape. The transformation takes no time and the glow disappears leaving a refreshed and slightly angry Bane behind. “Bane! You look awesome.” I call over. “But we still have a battle to finish. Seeing as you’re evolved and now refreshed I may as well give you more to fight, come on in Mawile.” Mawile look up and smirks slightly and runs in and stands by Sam. The Instant Mawile is in he begins the attack with Vice-grip and runs into Bane and chomps down with his horn/jaws holding and steadily crushing Bane, she smacks him off and scores him with bite knocking him back. The crowd is still watching and steadily growing, wanting to watch the battle unfold before them. Sam then throws a large barrage of projectiles at the Mightyena causing many direct hits and throwing her back to the other end of the field. I see that Bane has nearly had enough and decide to end the battle before she snaps. “Ok, I think this is done.” Mawile stares at me in disbelief, he didn’t even get much to do with the battle. I notice his annoyance “Mawile, you have plenty of time to battle but I think we can end it here, Bane looks like shes getting angry from being teamed up on. We can practice more down in Ponyville, is that ok?” I get a reluctant nod in agreement and I turn away to congratulate Bane and Sam. I grab out some pokeblocks I had stashed in the bag and passed them out to them all. “That was a really good battle today, Bane evolved and now looks badass and we all had some fun right?” They all nodded in agreement and then chowed down on their treats. “All in all a good day.” I look over to the crowd and see them looking at us questioningly. “You can all leave now. The show is over.” They all let out a groan in disappointment and walked off. We spent the next hour just hanging out in the field and playing together but we all stopped when we saw a carriage stop just beside us and a familiar purple pony hops out. She sees me and runs over but stops at seeing the intimidating Mightyena beside me.
“Rob. What is that thing beside you?” Twilight asks warily.
“That… thing is Bane, no more and an hour or so ago she had evolved while we were sparring.”
“Evolved? How is that possible. Evolution takes millions of years.” She states incredulously. I just shrug.
“Dunno, they just do. Why are you seeing me?”
“How do you not know? Nevermind, Don’t you remember? We agreed that I’d come back today and ask you questions and find out more about you.” I just stare blankly at her and Twilight facehooves herself. “You don’t remember do you?” I just shake my head and Twilight just smacks herself in the head again. “Are all your species this forgetful?”
“Nope” I answer simply, not really caring to abbreviate. She takes this as a good enough reason to continue.
“How old are you? How old can your species live? What is the technology in your world? What do you like to read? Are there many different types of Pokemon in your world?”..... at this point I stick my hand in her mouth to shut her up making Sam, Bane and Mawile laugh uncontrollably.
“That’s enough. I am 15 years old, We can live for about 80-95 years, our technology is advanced compared to yours. I like to read Sci-Fi and Fantasies. There are at last count about 350-400 different species of pokemon. If there are any more?” I get a nod in response, I shake my head in annoyance. “Fine a few more.” Taking my hand out of her mouth I give her time to speak.
“What’s your world like? Do you have many family?” I stop her there not wanting to answer more.
“I can’t really explain my world. The only way to know how it is is too see it yourself and I don't think you can do that can you?” She shakes her head. “And as for family, I only have my Dad.”
“What happened to your mother?”
“She died.” She looks at me pained in her stare.
“That must be hard?”
“I got over it but at times it can hurt.” ‘Why am I even telling her this?’ “But enough with all this depressing stuff can I ask something of you?”
“Sure, go right ahead.”
“Do you know any permanent translation spells?”
“I don’t know but I can always look and I might have one for you when you come down tomorrow.”
“Awesome.” I notice it is about lunch.
“Say, we are about to go for lunch. You wanna join us?”
“I’d love too. I know just the place in the city.” With that we all follow Twilight out of the castle not even being stopped by the guards and into the city. We walked for a few minutes while being gawked at by civilians and nobles alike. We continue to walk to a place called ‘The Princesses Brunch’ and sit at a table outside. Everyone sitting near us get up and move away.
“Well that is just rude.” Giving said ponies a glare making them uncomfortable.
“Rob, there is nothing to worry about.” Sam says to me getting agreement from Bane and Mawile.
“Well sure. There isn't anything to worry about NOW but……. ugh never mind.” I say in a huff and cross my arms. By this point a waiter has come out to see us to take our orders. WIth everyone getting a salad and Bane and I getting Pasta and wheatballs. Lunch was rather uneventful and after paying for the food we leave to go back to the castle for the afternoon. We make it back into the grounds and go back to our rooms for a nap, I sure as hell wanted one.
I lay in my bed with Sam curled up next to me sleeping soundly, I look down at her and smile. Happy with what I have.
