Chapter 15


After dinner Toby and Starbloom helped Fluttershy clean up the kitchen before Fluttershy sent Toby to bed first. She took Starbloom to the downstairs bathroom and changed the bandage on her shoulder. Checking over the injury to make sure it was healing properly and adding some more of the salve to help keep it from scarring to bad.

"That's looking a lot better Starbloom, it'll be time to remove the stitches soon and we won't have to keep it bandaged." Fluttershy said smiling at Starbloom as she gently worked on her shoulder. "No sign of infection either you're doing very well."

Starbloom smiled at Fluttershy as she listened while she worked on the shoulder. The pain and soreness had gone down a lot as well as her limp. She had been really nervous about corrective surgery but now she was glad she had it. "Thank you Fluttershy, it's feeling a lot better now." Starbloom said smiling.

"I'm glad to hear that Starbloom dear, now time for your medicine then bed alright?" Fluttershy said walking with Starbloom back to the kitchen, she gets the packets with the anti-infection medicine and pain pill. She took out the proper dose of each and gave them to Starbloom before putting the packets away.

"Alright Fluttershy, thank you again." She said smiling at her using her magic to take the pills and put them in her mouth before taking a drink of water. "Good night Fluttershy," She said before making her way up stairs to the bedroom she shared with Toby.

She saw him working on his drawing again and goes over. "What are you working on Toby?" She asked tilting her head smiling. Toby looked up and blushed softly before holding up the picture so she could see.

"It... it's a picture of all of us." He said smiling at her. "It's... not silly is it?" He asked her looking at the picture then back at Starbloom.

"Oh Toby.... of course it's not silly. It's a very sweet drawing I like it." She smiles at him then looks at the picture again. "I'm sure Fluttershy will love it as well."

Toby blushed a little more smiling at her. "Yo.. you think so Starbloom?" he said smiling at her looking at the picture then back at Starbloom.

"No, I don't think so I know she will love it." Starbloom said smiling at him ruffling his hair a bit. She turned her head hearing hoof steps coming up the stairs.

Fluttershy made her way up the stairs and smiled at Toby and Starbloom. "Oh, what are my two little ones up to?" She said walking over to them.

Starbloom looked at Toby who blushed, she gave him a soft nudge with her hoof and nodding at the picture. Toby smiled and held up the picture for Fluttershy. "I... I drew this mama. Do... you like it?" he asked looking up at her.

"Oh my... Toby I love it, thank you very much." Fluttershy said as she took the drawing and found a place on the wall to hang it up. "But it's bed time now, so off to bed with you two."

Starbloom and Toby smiled and nodded. "Okay Fluttershy," Starbloom said using her magic to pull back the covers and climbs in snuggling into the bed.

"Alright mama," Toby said as he got in on his side of the bed.

Fluttershy smiled and went over to the bed tugging the covers and tucking them in, "Would you two like a lullaby?" Fluttershy asked turning the main lights in the room off, leaving a small lamp on so she could see her way to the door.

Toby looked over at Starbloom who was starting to drift off on her own, the pain medicine making her drowsy. "Okay mama, a soothing one would be nice." Toby said smiling at her.

Fluttershy nodded at Toby smiling as she goes over and sits on his side of the bed closing her eyes and starts to sing Hush Now, Quiet Now, softly so not to disturb Starbloom. Toby snuggled into the covers more and slowly started to drift off to sleep himself.

Seeing the two had fallen asleep she smiled and got to her hooves heading down stairs after turning the small lantern off.
