//------------------------------// // The New Wonderland // Story: My Daughters // by ThunderCracker //------------------------------// 6 Years Later. Dennis was becoming paranoid. He hadn't seen Nightmare Moon in 6 years, and he was beginning to think that she was up to no good. Whether it was from her coming to earth and either killing Dennis or taking his daughters from him to doing something in the dreamworld. He was watching them play Rock Band 3 with Shining on the drums. He wasn't really watching, just thinking. They had finished up their playlist they put everything away and sat down next to Dennis on the couch. Celestia noticed his expression and patted him on the back. "Something wrong?" She asked. "No, nothings wrong. *yawn* It's 12:30, time for bed." He replied walking over to the bedroom. Dennis remembered that he had a guest room in the house and allowed Shining to sleep in it; just as long as he keeps it in good shape, which he was doing a good job at. He lied down in the bed with the girls, almost falling off the bed from how big they were getting. Half of his body was hanging off the bed, but as long as his girls got some sleep, he was happy. He didn't really need any sleep, but he needed to be there in the dreamworld with Luna. He was so tired that he just slumped out of the bed making a loud thud as he hit the floor. He groaned in pain, but then proceeded to crawl out of the bedroom, closing the door behind him with his foot. He crawled into the living room and onto the couch. He grabbed one of the pillows on it and place it under his head. He closed his eyes and fell asleep fast. Dennis awoke in the dreamland once more, but... something was wrong. There were no longer piles of snowy hills everywhere, it was all burnt grass, and it was no longer snowing, it was just ashes falling from the pitch black sky. And then Dennis saw it. The moon shining brightly above everything else. Dennis looked around for Luna. She might've been having another nightmare like that one night. He walked around trying to look for Luna to help her, trying to save her from Nightmare Moon. Dennis was sweating from how hot it was, he felt like he himself was going to set aflame. After a few minutes he finally found Luna, but she wasn't alone. Sitting next to her was a stallion, with a white coat and a blue and teal mane and tail. He walked over to them and put a hand on Shining's shoulder. He looked up at him and then stared off. Dennis looked to where he was looking and was horrified at the sight. There was a really, REALLY, big crater, along with a giant mushroom cloud. He knew only one person could have done all of this. Nightmare Moon. Dennis sat in between Luna and Shining and wrapped an arm around them then brought them into a hug. He took a deep breath, then sighed. "Luna," Dennis continued, "this is your dreamworld, you can do whatever you want with it. You can't let this get to you. You can make this place like it was before. It's called dream training. My mother taught it to me when I was having nightmares. Make this the dreamworld that was ours to share." He said hugging her close. "I... I don't know if I can." Luna replied choking up. Dennis looked at her. "You have to try." Luna sighed. Then her horn lit up and she began to concentrate. She grunted and then Dennis felt like the ground was shifting underneath them. The crusty old grass beneath them felt soft now. Dennis looked down and saw the grass taking up it's usual lime greenish color. He looked up and saw the skies turning blue again. He also saw that the moon was going down. The moon was replaced by the sun, and it shined brightly over them. "Dad, look!" Luna said happily. Dennis turned around and sighed at the beauty. The abyss that was in front of them was replace by a quarry, and water falls were flowing out of the walls and into the quarry filling it slowly. Dennis marveled at the sight, what made it shine was the rainbow that flowed over the deep quarry. Luna and Shining stood up and Dennis smiled at Luna and she smiled back. Dennis wrapped an arm around Luna and held her tightly. "It's beautiful Luna! Good job!" Dennis said. "Thanks for teaching me Dad." Luna replied hugging him tightly. "D'aw, c'mere you!" Dennis shouted picking her up and hugging her tightly. He spun around and Luna squealed. She laughed and hugged Dennis closely. He set her down and then looked at Shining. He was smiling and Dennis chuckled. He tilted his head to the side gesturing for them to follow him. He walked over to a clear spot and concentrated. A nice little log cabin began to materialize from the ground up. It slowly formed and then they all looked at it. They went inside and it was like a little crib. Dennis had used his imagination well. There was a long white couch in the living room with a rather large coffee table in front of it. The other thing in front of the couch was an 80 in. HD flat screen TV. The kitchen was fancy and sparkling. They walked into the bedroom where Dennis and Luna were going to sleep in. There were two separate queen sized beds next to each other with an HD flat screen TV in front of them. They walked into the guest room where shining was going to sleep. There was a queen sized bed in the middle of the room against the wall. On the right was a relaxing chair next to a fireplace which had already been lit. There was yet another flat screen TV above the fireplace. Dennis clapped his hands together and looked at Shining and Luna. "So, let's have some fun shall we?" Dennis asked. They both nodded their heads smiling brightly. "Well come on!" Dennis shouted. They went out back and looked around. There was nothing but grass and open flatland. "It's kinda like Minecraft." Dennis said. Luna raised an eyebrow at him. "It's a game," he sighed, "all of this, is ours. So what should we do with it?" He asked. Luna began to think. Then her horn lit up and she began to concentrate again. A large castle began to rise from the ground, but the castle looked familiar. It was sitting atop a large mountain and it had a city attached to it. It was Canterlot. Dennis chuckled. "Now how are we gonna get up there?" He asked. "Easy." Luna replied. Dennis smiled brightly. His wings flared and he flew up to Canterlot. "I love this place!" He shouted. They reached Canterlot and began to mess around. There wasn't really anybody/pony around so it was all theirs. They went into the throne room and walked over to the balcony. They all sighed at the beautiful sight. Their log cabin, the large quarry that had already been filled with shallow water, the rainbow that glowed over it. And lastly, the sun, shining brightly over the dreamworld. "Ya know what? I think we should call this place wonderland." Dennis said. "And ya know what Luna? I think your moon would look perfect in the sky." He said hugging Luna tightly. She smiled at him and concentrated again. The sun began to go down and Wonderland was placed in the beautiful Moonlight of Luna's Moon. Dennis smiled and kissed Luna on the head hugging her tightly. He sighed at the beauty. He flared out his wings and flew down to the cabin with Luna and Shining behind him. He walked in and went into the bedroom and Shining went into his guest room. Dennis laid down on the bed and closed his eyes to sleep. Then he felt a tight warm sensation wrap around his body like an anaconda. Dennis turned his head to see Luna snuggling him nuzzling his back. He squirmed and Luna gasped and let go. "O-oh, sorry dad. I didn't-" "Nah it's fine, c'mere." Dennis said hugging Luna close. She smiled and rested her head on his shoulder and wrapped herself around him like she did last time. "Sorry. I just feel safe when I'm with you. You helped me change my dreamworld, you help through tough times... and you've always been there for me," Luna began to choke up and she hugged Dennis closer, "you HAVE, always been there for me... *sniffle* ... like you promised. I love you Dad. Thank you." She said through her tears. Dennis had tears in his eyes also and they began to flow. He hugged Luna closer. "I love you too Luna. Your welcome." He replied.
