       								             CHAPTER 12
All Just a Shade

A Rainbow beam shot from the six straight into The Key. It lit up, and seemed to destroy King Sombra, he was gone forever leaving behind a small shard of his horn. Everypony around them instantly were released from the curse of the changelings. All of the guards dropped their weapons, and left. Twilight picked up King Sombra’s horn shard, and said “I don’t think this is all that we are going to deal with.” Rarity turned to the other four in their group, and said “we’re all going to miss you while you’re back at Canterlot. When are you leaving us?” Shining Armor turned around while saying one thing they all didn’t want to hear “well considering we have been here for a day, we have to leave tonight.” They all grouped up to build camp when Derpy yelled “OHHHH I forgot, here you go guys a letter from Celestia.” Derpy handed them all a letter each while smiling. Shining Armor gave Twilight a hug before leaving for everyone hugged even Raindrops and Derpy.

“Well that was completely unexpected I’m sorry Celestia your six have been caught by King Sombra.” Cadence said while crying obsessively. Princess Celestia collapsed for she had known that when those six would nearly fail that the whole kingdom of Equestria would fall under darkness. She started to sob herself for she had lost her best student, and her friends. In a flash of a second Shining Armor and the other two appeared through the sundial that was installed in the throne room of Princess Celestia. He walked over to his wife Princess Cadence lifted her head up from the puddle she created, and said “why so sad? Have our defenses fallen? More importantly have our enemies attacked?” Princess Cadence looked up at Shining Armor who couldn’t look better, and asked “why aren’t you sad didn’t Twilight get captured by King Sombra in his ambush?” Shining Armor smiled while shaking his head side to side then said “their friendship wouldn’t let them go down without a fight King Sombra was destroyed by the power of the Elements of Harmony.” Cadence looked up at Shining Armor while saying “He is still alive how is this possible? Are they all ok?” Shining Armor gave a quick nod, and then Cadence gave him a hug as fast as she could for she just heard the best news out of all night. Derpy took care of the new mail she needed to give to Princess Celestia from all of the six letting her know that they were ok. Shining Armor went back to his work of keeping Canterlot safe by casting his defensive spell all around. He finally asked something that he thought would be impossible, but he asked anyways “hey Derpy you mind flying over to see our friends again to give them this letter it’s very important.” Derpy agreed, and started flying toward the last known location of her friends.
