//------------------------------// // Ace Survivor(unfinished) // Story: Friendship is Survival // by Shrpsho0ter //------------------------------//         The force of Bill’s boot forced the door to fall off of its hinges, revealing a dark and empty street. The entire street ran for around ten blocks, as far as Bill could tell. If the streetlights had been functioning correctly and if “traffic” wasn’t such a hassle, he would have been able to see that this street could go from one end of the city to the other in a straight line. The only thing about the street that Bill found weird was that there wasn’t any zombies. Nor could he hear any in the close proximity. He did hear gunshots in the distance that seemed to increase in intensity as time went along. “We better take this time to get our bearings. If my memory doesn’t fail me, the place we’re looking for should be about ten blocks East, and then a couple blocks North from there. You know what I mean by North and East, right?” Rainbow Dash was offended by Bill’s remark. “Who do you think we are, babies??” “Of course not. You’re a bunch of magical ponies from the land of Equestria. Why would I be mistaken that you’re a bunch of little babies that don’t know the basic cardinal directions?” Bill replied in a sarcastic tone. The ponies shut up at that. Bill led the group Eastward down a still abandoned street. Rainbow Dash was growing impatient as Bill checked every crevice and corner. She held her tongue as best as she could, doubting his behavior, until he did find spoils. Next to a burning taxi Bill had pulled away a garbage can to reveal a dead man in a blue suit and red tie. The dead man’s hair was all ruffled and messed up, but four weeks previous it had been spiky as a porcupine. Next to the dead man, however, was a bottle of pills and an Uzi submachine gun. “Whatever this guy’s job was, it doesn’t seem like he was an ace at surviving. But he is an ace at leaving us things to survive off of.” Bill seemed relieved, being left with nothing but a pistol previously. He grabbed the Uzi and the pill bottle, and checked the contents of both. The Uzi had a full clip, but that was only fifty rounds worth. The bottle had enough painkillers to help deal with a temporary injury, but anything else would require a first aid kit. Speaking of which... Bill had seen an ambulance back the other way, but had thought not to open it for fear of a zombie hiding inside and would tear him apart limb from limb, due to the lack of a firearm. The ponies did have weapons, but they were inexperienced and would most likely have failed to defend him in that situation. With a gun, however, he felt more confident in their abilities. “Hey, ponies. We’re going to backtrack a bit to that ambulance.” Bill cocked his head back in the direction that they had just came from. “What do you mean backtrack? We need to hurry up so we can get back to Equestria!” “Rainbow Dash, to me you seem bit saddlesore. You just don’t see what Bill’s trying I’d rather survive long enough to get that far than end up zombie bait because we rushed ahead. Unless you want to get eaten by zombies,” Applejack said in an annoyed tone.
