Chapter 6

*Swoosh* All of the windows blew open as a suspicious gust of wind blasted its way through the library. All of the candles blew out and the only remaining light came from the full moon shining brightly above. The initial gust had spooked everypony, minus Rainbow and Millennium who continued floating about as if nothing had happened. " You there Celestia?!" The drake yelled off into the night. There was no response just another cold gust of wind. " Im here waiting for you! I've just been dyyying to speak with you." He somehow managed to keep the same face hes had all night, even in such a tense moment as now. Twilight's voice started as a whisper but grew in volume. " C-Celestia? Are you there?" The wind blew again, except this time something was different. It sounded like something was speaking through the air, A low humming voice echoed through the entire building. " ...All of you leave. Get out of this building. All of you except HIM..." The voice trailed off and eventually died out. Everypony looked at each other with fear. Rarity spoke first. " Um well I don't know about you girls... but I think im going to go wait outside." She gave a weak smile and trotted off to the door. Twilight nodded in agreement and got up. " Whatever just spoke to us, well i don't think it wants us here when things go down. And really, Id rather just watch from the sidelines." She and Rarity moved to the door when they were stopped by a rather angry sounding voice. " YA, You would leave Twilight." The purple mare spun around. "Excuse me?" Rainbow glared at her. " You know what I mean. When the going gets tough you take the first ride out. Im not leaving." A small grin grew on the drakes face. Quite the opposite of Twilights mood. Her eyes narrowed and she began speaking. " Look Rainbow, Somepony dosn't want us here. Im guessing this is Celestias doing and, well I trust her judgment on this one. If you want to stay thats fine with me, Fluttershy lets go." Her face was hidden behind her mane but her words carried flowed through the air with ease. "..No.." 

The response shocked them all, even Millennium whose straight face hes kept melted into a confused look. There was a simultaneous response from everypony. "What?!" The shy mare looked up. " I've just met Millennium, but he's still my friend. Im not going to leave him here alone." Everyponys mouth hung open. Rainbow Dash flew over to her friend and stood beside her. " If you two are willing to leave your friend alone when he needs us then we are telling you GO." Both of the pegasi stood with a look of absolute seriousness. " I-I cant believe it. You two are siding with him. HE'S the enemy here. And he is far from my friend, hes the son of that monster that tried to tear all of us apart! And you're backing him up!?" We're going outside to wait this out!" Rainbows narrowed her gaze. " Your still here?" The stare between the two burned for a few more seconds but broke when The two unicorns stormed through the door. Both the pegisi looked up drake. " Don't worry dude we got your back." She gave him a whack on his patchwork shoulder. A small tear formed in his eye. " T-thank you, both of you... This means...a lot." They all smiled at each other, and Fluttershy finally got her hug. The moment didn't last long as another more booming voice echoed through the walls. " LEAVE NOW, OR SUFFER THE SAME FATE AS HIM." Rainbow jumped up. "We're not leaving! You hear us?! He's our friend and we will not leave him!" The house grew silent. Then the voice came back, cold and threatening. " So be it, Join this monsters side. Burn like his father." They all flinched at those words. It made them cringe. Suddenly every window slammed shut. Rainbow quickly flew to the nearest one and rammed into it. It didn't budge. " Um, guys. the windows are kinda stuck. Around each one was a faint pink glow. Fluttershy rose up. " Um, Rainbow sorry to interrupt but do you smell that?" They all sniffed the air. All of their faces turned pale. Smoke. It slowly began to seep through the bottom of the door, from the top bedroom, form the windows even. That last one confused them all. Panic set in immediately. Fluttershy began to run around the building, even Rainbow had began to lose her cool. But Millennium stood unfazed. He was floating in the air standing straight up, he was looking toward the ground. words began to flow from somewhere deep within him. 

" Dear Princess Celestia." The two panicking ponies stopped running at the sound of those words. " Today ive learned something form two of your former subjects." The two walked closer to him. " Ive learned that all it takes to change ones being is a bit of kindness. And when in the face of danger a show of loyalty." The two now stood next to him as the fire began to slowly consume the room. " When I came here all I had were thoughts revenge, get you out of the picture and free my father." He paused for a moment and looked down at the two by his side. " But these two... they have shown me something, That no matter what everponys worth giving a second chance. So I ask you one time, let us go and free my father, and I promise you no harm will come to you, or your kingdom." The fire continued to burn for a moment, but something stopped it. The fire slowly retreated back to the walls and doors leaving ashes in its wake. They all opened their eyes to see close the fire had came to them. Just inches from where they were standing was a solid sea of grey ash forming a circle around them. " W-were ok."
