//------------------------------// // Training At Will // Story: Getting Up // by mlp4pegasister //------------------------------// "Now come on, we need to get you some training." The commander said while wiping Estate's last tear. "B-But what if I'm not good enough?" Estate asked in her soft voice. "You will be, don't worry." The commander replied while trying to keep Estate calm. The commander placed Estate on the floor gently and got off her chair. "Now follow me, ill show you to training." She said while grabbing her hoof and walking slowly out. "What's going to happen to my brother?" Estate asked not knowing the answer. "He'll be safe. I promise you'll see him again." She said before walking through the training room door. They walked in quietly with out any pony noticing them. "Sargent!" The commander said in her loud voice which scared Estate. "Commander!" The sergeants said while stiffening up in a straight position. The sergeant was the one who trained the new recruits for up coming battles against the army who took over Equestria. He was tough but would do anything to avoid facing his fears. He would also get wimpy if the commander had seen him do something bad our wrong. "What is it it commander?" His voice boomed in the silent room filled with fillys, colts, mares, and stallions. "New recruit. Filly, Estate."The commander said in a straight voice. "We only train specialized ponies for battles. The others for different reasons. She's got good skills I think. Let's train her for class Eye In The Sky." He said grabbing Estate then pushing her over to a small group. "Umm w- what's eye in t- the sky?" Estate asked stuttering from the loudness of his voice and how scary he looked as well as burrowing herself down to the floor. "Eye in the sky is where you will watch a certain warrior when the battle comes up and you tell them there obstacles as well as who there facing and where they should go." The sergeant said as he raised Estate back up with his strong hoof. "o- ok." She said in a soft scared voice. After the commander left the sergeant stood infringement of the little groups of ponies. "Ok this is war! Not play!" He said in a loud voice that if you stood close enough you'd think he would've lost his voice from how loud it was. "When I say split, you go to your stations. When I say formation, you all gather back here. Got it?" The sergeant asked all the ponies. They nodded and when he said split they went to there stations. Estate didn't think of herself as a warrior so she too thought this was a good station. All the other ponies seemed to be doing something but her. It was her first day and no one told her what to do. Suddenly she got worried and sweat dripped from her forehead. She thought it could've been a test and if she doesn't do it she'll fail. She quickly started pressing buttons repeatedly when she accidentally hit a button labeled Alarm and the bell started ringing very loudly, even a bit louder then the sergeants voice. "Oh no." She said to herself. "Everyone exit in a calm and orderly fashion!" The sergeant yelled but of course everyone did the opposite and screamed and panicked and booked it. As everyone ran in different directions Estate just remained seated as a tear rolled down her cheek. She burst into tears as the commander came in to check that no pony was left behind. She spotted Estate in tears sitting on the stool. "What's wrong, you know you have to get out." The commander said in a nice, calm voice. "No, it's all my fault. I didn't know what to do and I, I panicked. I started pushing every button I could and I hit the alarm button. Why am I here? I'm not good at anything." Estate said sniffing while rubbing her eyes. "You know what, you won't have to be an Eye In The Sky anymore. Just leave it to me." The commander said in a sweet calm voice. "R- really?" Estate asked in her soft voice. "Yes." Replied the commander replied before stroking her mane and walking off. As every pony walked back in Estate remained seated until a hoof grabbed her and pulled her out of an emergency door. Before she knew it, she saw the warrior and the commander smiling at her with wide grins. "W- What??" Estate said in a shy voice but still confused. "I'm here to train you! The commander asked me to!" The warrior said in a Rather happy tone. She decided not to ask but just rolled with it. Before Estate knew it she was jumping in and out of cart wheels and dodging pebbles though she got a bit bruised. "You did good kid, I gotta cut you some slack!" The warrior said in a cheerful tone. "You two need some rest, go hit the bunkers and we can call it a day." The commander said before shaving them a bit and gesturing to the bunkers. As they walked through the halls they chatted for a bit and knew that they could trust each other and the other could always help out. When they finally reached their bunker the warrior held the door open for Estate to walk in and choose a bunk. "I'll take top." The warrior said climbing the ladder then waiting for Estate to get in bed and fall asleep. "Ok! I don't think I know your name, everyone calls you warrior." She replied in curiosity. "My name, FrostBite." The warrior said.
