Chopin's "Raindrops" Prelude, Op 28, No. 15

The light, it grows brighter and brighter with each day, within each moment its gentle warmth graced the entirety of her body. The road has been paved, and the world is as it should be, the shining resolution of peace and harmony. Twilight's only goal in life was to become the greatest pony she could be, but with experience becomes a new hope entirely. Friendship, that's what pushed her forward, what kept her denizen forever tied in an eternal glow, and kept a smile to remain upon her face to the final decree. But Twilight knew, she wasn't a fool.

Soon, death would envelop her mortal self, and slowly embrace her in a slumber that nopony can return, that nopony can call out from the dark. But with the grim truth came the heartening facts: This world with her own hoof, had become what it remains today.

These faces, these faces that will never disappear, that will never fade. Illness had befallen her friends, and to her own melancholy she would bear the guilt of life, when so many before her are stripped of it's transcendence all too soon. The burden of friendship pays it's due only in it's final goodbyes. Through heart and mind do we weep for an unavoidable loss, that only our will can persevere through. Only the strong can move on, to dwindle only leads to an somber end to a somber existence.

Twilight would learn, of years come pass; Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity. The names of ponies and the hearts of angels, to bear a single witness to their abrupt end. Tears can only stain the coat, but the aching of the heart can only stain the soul. The experience of change, of death, would only strengthen Twilight to the bitter end. There were no more tears to be shed, no more hate, or pain, or sadness to plague her mind. Only the kindness of her memory can happiness, joy, and an ultimate hope paint it's mark back into Twilight's vision.

Twilight lay comfortably upon the hospital bed of Ponyville Hospital as mornings' early rays glistened upon her face. The gentle beeping of medical monitors added almost an unearthly peace to her conscience. Her health was slowly deteriorating, and while the many doctors would constantly reassure her, Twilight could only sense her impending doom and await it's final encounter.

Stationary upon the frame of the window lie a glass vase, and inside some of the most beautiful yellow roses Twilight had ever seen. It reminded her of her old friend, Fluttershy, whose own life she had watch deteriorate from the tragedy of Alzheimer's. Twilight worked her mind to uncover the friendship that the two shared. Her kindness, equal to her shyness, had brought each other a balance of friendship and happiness. Twilight could only faintly recall the final set of words Fluttershy had muttered to her, the day she began to lose it all:

"Sometimes, we all just need to be shown a little kindness... and if the whole world can show that bit of kindness, can we all life a happy life."

Twilight etched a faint smile across her aged face. The Elements of Harmony... the entities that bound their friendship in an eternal truth. With them, led a grand tale of adventure and mystery, through the plight of Nightmare Moon, to the insanity of Discord's magic. However, the escapades of adventure are best left to the young and naive, to which on the eve of Rarity's passing, had the Elements moved on to new suitors, a new collage of friends and to history they would paint their own futures. She would often reminiscence those days as she spent the passing weeks bound to her ill-stricken bedding, but alas, with the power of harmony requires the livelihood of it's providers, to which Twilight and the remaining Mane 6 would graciously step down.

Each of the ponies lived life to the fullest. Each of them founded their special talent, and a lovable husband in to which they could share the rest of their existing lives with one another:

Rarity's clothing became the leading brand of clothes for both Canterlot and Ponyville citizens alike. Her name and vision passed down from tailor to tailor.

Rainbow Dash finally met her match within the ranks of the Wonderbolts, to which she had eventually led them to become the leading force of speed in Equestria, garnering her own name as a national legend.

Pinkie Pie in all of her random and bubbly nature, opened up her own bakery and party shop, to which anypony who should exit the store would be left with a smile on their face, and a delicious and exciting treat in their bag.

Applejack's interest in the apple business led her apple-bucking days to the big times as she spent the remainder of her days traveling the land, growing her apple orchards all across Equestria.

Fluttershy, who's kindness and love of animals, led to the creation of a wildlife program in which forged a special bond among the animals of the forest and the ponies of civilizations future.

Spike, the dragon of a thousand years, a brother of unbridled love; Set out on the course for adventure, and on the course for and ultimate truth that only he could discover.

But finally, we rest with Twilight Sparkle, the element of magic and sole apprentice to the ever-young Princess Celestia. Unlike her friends, she led no business, nor team, nor organization. Merely, the rest of time she spent in the tranquility of Ponyville, to which it's constant reminder of a once careless and fun-loving past stood to this day. Left to her study, she formed a book of her own, a collection rather, that has been appraised and carried down by ponies everywhere.

The Magic of Friendship: By Twilight Sparkle

***

In the final moments of Twilight Sparkle, an old friend bears her final goodbyes, and with it the sanctity of the afterlife, of an eternal slumber to which her mind and soul could wonder in oblivious happiness till the end of time. A single tear would creep gently down the cheek of the divine goddess, not even her power can stop the motions of fate. On that day, no words signified her final passing, but the connection of their eyes that met with an unbridled sadness.

Twilight Sparkle had existed in the grand scheme of life as a beacon of hope, love, and peace, which ultimately inspired the lives of a million others. With her life and others that kept the light shining brightly upon the world. Celestia had beared witness to a thousand lives come and go. Yet all throughout, the shear emotion she felt for her student, no her family; had been so powerful that she would cast her own life away if the gracefulness of death would spare her.

Ultimately however, nothing can stop the flow of time, and within each of us lies a clock, that slowly ticks away until it reaches midnight, it's own final judgment day.

The bells of the school rang in the distance, as Twilight met eye-to-eye with her former teacher. Celestia's own commitment graced Twilight's final passing with a final witness, and to which Celestia would hold her hoof tightly and smile. The monitor that accompanied Twilight began a change of pace and tempo, as the aggressions of life began to fade from her bright-purple, round eyes. With the few counts of breath that Twilight had remained, she uttered her final words:

“You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

The monitor glided its lines to a single stretch, the sounds of the machine only faded as Celestia's final goodbye met with a turn of grief. Never before had Celestia wept as much as she had on that day, and never again shall she weep once more, for there is no pain and no sadness to be felt beyond that day. Celestia would continue to rule over the land of Equestria for a hundred generations more, but with a small locket to be forever draped upon her neck, contained a picture of an old student, friend, and family that would accompany her to ends of time.

"Goodnight, my dear little Sparkle..." she muttered, as a single yellow rose she would place enclosed in her hoof.
