Rainbow Dash was having fun, playing with Angel, Tank and surprisingly Trixie, at first she thought Trixie would cheat or complain or even worst start boasting about how great and powerful she is but she's actually been pretty good sport, she played fair and most importantly she didn't boast...most of the time.
Right now they were in the middle of hide and seek with Rainbow hiding under a bush and Trixie trying to find her, she had caught Angel and Tank who were now sitting on the grass watching as Trixie looked for Dash.
Angel looked away for a minute to see three very familiar mares coming right towards them, "This cant be good." he said.
Tank looked over to see what the rabbit was talking about and he winced when he saw the pink one "Should we warn Rainbow and Trixie?" he asked
"Do you want to be the one to face those three when if it comes to that." Angel replied pointing to the approaching mares.
Tank thought about it for a second, then shook his head.
"Trixie, Rainbow come here for a minute." Twilight called, Trixie crawled to Twilight and Rainbow popped out of the bush she was in and crawled along with Trixie, when they got in front of Twilight, they noticed that she wasn't alone.
"Hey Twilight why is Pinkie here?" Rainbow asked.
But it was Pinkie who answered, "Oh I'm here for, the playdate." she said sinisterly.
"ITS A TWAP!!" Trixie yelled and both her and Rainbow tried to crawl away, only for both to be caught in Twilight's magic.
"Oh come on girls it'll be fun." Twilight in courage.
"Yeah it'll be tons of fun, all are friends will be here, there'll be a picnic and look I brought the cake twins." Pinkie said, then she turned around to show the two foals Pound and Pumpkin cakes in the carrier.
Rainbow looked at Fluttershy, who had been quiet this whole time with a sad expression, "Fwuttewshy you told me that this didn't have anything to do with Pinkie pie." she wined.
Fluttershy winced at Rainbow's wyning, she didn't like lying but she knew Rainbow wouldn't come if she told her about the playdate, "Umm I'm sorry Dashie but they made me do it." she said pointing to the two mares beside her.
"Twiwight you knew about this too!?" Trixie yelled more mad than worried.
Twilight nodded "Yes, I thought it would help you become more friendly with other ponies." she said flatly.
"Hey it'll be alright okay, this'll be fun." Pinkie said pouncing in place.
Rainbow and Trixie just crossed their arms.
"Okay all we have to do now is wait for Applejack and Rarity with the other part of the plan." Pinkie said then spreading a picnic blanket on the ground from out of no were.
Both Foals looked at her questionably "Appwejack and Warity, there coming too why!?" Rainbow said.
Pinkie pie smiled "You'll see." she giggled
"So what now?" asked Trixie, still suspended in the air with Rainbow by Twilights magic.
"Well until Applejack and Rarity come back you girls can keep playing by yourselves." Twilight replied
"Yeah because this playdate's all about fun," Pinkie said while pouncing, "and we just came over here to tell you and drop of the cakes and play with you." she then started unstrapping the twins from the foal carrier and dropping the to the ground.
The Twins looked at Trixie and Rainbow hovering in the air and giggled Then they started crawling to them.
Both Trixie and Rainbow look at Twilight with a pleading look.
Twilight smirked, she knew they didn't wanted to be treated like baby's and play with other foals but they didn't have a choice and she had to admit watching Trixie suffer like this is was really cute and she could learn a bit about friendship from this so, she then lowered the two foals back to the ground and too there fate and she and the other mares left to prepare for the others.
When they reached the ground, Rainbow looked at the Twins who were now sitting right in front of them, she wasn't sure what to do other than her and Trixie these two foals where actually foals, how could this end, what will this do to her mind, it was all ready shriveling enough like Angel said.
"Hi Twixie." said one of the cake twins, Pumpkin.
Rainbow jaw dropped "Did I just hear her talk and say your name!?" she said and pointed to Trixie.
She nodded "Yes I pwayed with the cakes once before and yes they can tawk to us because if you haven't forgotten, where foals too." Trixie said.
"Yep that's right nun of the aduwts can understand us weww except you two it seems but we can understand each other." Pound cake said.
Rainbow nodded "Okay that makes sense, I guess."
"Sooo," Pumpkin said changing the subject, "what do you guys wanna do?" she asked
All of them thought for a moment.
"Hey would any of you like to race!?" Pound asked.
Rainbow's eyes widened in excitement "Race!"
"Yeah my brother likes to fly around and mess with Pinkie and have her chase him around like a race." Pumpkin giggle
"Okay are you in or not?" Pound said already getting anxious.
"I'm in!!" Rainbow replied with determination.
"Okay see that tree over there," Pound said pointing to a tree on the other side of the field not to far and close enough that Fluttershy and the others probably wouldn't be worried, "Will race to that tree and back okay."
Everypony nodded, when they where ready Rainbow and Pound where side by side waiting for the starter who was Trixie and Pumpkin cake on the side line.
Trixie and Pumpkin counted down in unison "Ready...Set...Go!!!" they yelled
Rainbow dash and Pound cake took off both hovering there little wings as fast as they can, Rainbow dash was behind Pound but she wasn't going to for long, moving her wings faster she gained the lead.
They were coming up to the tree now and Pound was still behind, Rainbow was confident that she would win, when they flew all around the tree they made the final dash back to Trixie and Pumpkin, Suddenly Pound cake zoomed right past Rainbow.
"Dang it, he most have been saving strength for the final dash!" Rainbow said, flapping faster than she has ever done before she took off after her opponent who was now half way to the finish line, she felt tired now from going that fast with such small wings and little strength it was so much easier when she was big but now, "Oh no I-I cant make it I'm gonna lose!"
"Don't give up!" somepony yelled, Dash looked around to see who said that, she looks to the finish line and see's Fluttershy "Don't give up Rainbow, your the best flyer in Equstria prove it!!" she yelled.
Rainbow felt a boost in confidence and again went into a mad dash for the finish line, she was now next to Pound cake and trying to take the lead but thanks to his reserved strength he kept up.
"Come on Rainbow its now or never." she said to herself then with her last once of strength she blasted right past Pound and closed the gap between her and the goal and winning the race.
Fluttershy and the other foals screamed and clapped for her victory, behind her Pound was just crossing out of breath and breathing heavily "H-Hey g-good...job." he weezed.
Rainbow nodded in response, she was laying on the ground worn out but smiled knowing she's still the best she was then picked up into a tight hug by Fluttershy.
"I'm pround of you Rainbow." she said tightening her hug but not enough to suffocate her.
Rainbow returned the embrace by hugging her neck, knowing she was proud of her made her feel really good inside.
Then just as the embrace began it ended and Fluttershy lowered Rainbow back to the ground with the other foals "Okay I just wanted to check on all of you to see if you needed anything." she said
Rainbow puffed up her cheeks in a little heated anger at that comment, "Come on Fwuttewshy not all of us are baby's you know!" she retorted.
Fluttershy just giggled and left to join back with the other mares.
When she left Pumpkin looked at Rainbow "Your mommy seems nice." she said.
"Huh?" Rainbow said confused.
"Your mommy she's nice." Pumpkin said again
Rainbow waved her hooves, "No, no, no she's not my mom she my friend." she protested.
Pumpkin tilted her head now being the one confused "Wait but you two seemed to show so much love for each other, don't you feel something about her."
Rainbow thought about that for a minute, her and Fluttershy, Mother and Child no way that's impossible there friends but then why does she feel so different around her now, she questioned this for what seemed like forever until it finally dawned on her, the love she was getting from Fluttershy was...the same she felt from her real mother before she past away.
Back over were the mares where Fluttershy, Twilight and Pinkie were waiting for the others, Twilight had her nose in a book that she had so that left Pinkie to talk with Fluttershy.
"So how are you and Rainbow doing with your 'little' problem?" Pinkie asked
Fluttershy shrugged "Good I guess, Rainbow's fine so that's all that matters." she replied
Pinkie looked at her then at the foals who were still just sitting on the grass then back at her "How do you think of Rainbow now." she said in her usual happy way.
Fluttershy looked at her confused "What do you mean?" she asked.
"You know do you think of her as your daughter now?" Pinkie said.
She was shocked "No! I mean I don't think so, maybe?" she rambled then she thought about it for a minute, she didn't know what to think but she also felt like she already knew the answer, she thought and thought until it came to her, in a way she really did feel like Rainbow.
Was her daughter, before she could think about this any further she was interrupted by Pinkie screaming.
"Oh, oh, oh there here, there here" Pinkie screamed.
Coming up the path was Applejack and Rarity along with three small fillies.
Pinkie's smile grew wider if that was possible "The next face of the plan the CMC."
