“Mommy? Why do stories end?” a teary eyed filly asked her mother.

The mare gave her daughter an encouraging smile. “Because the writer didn’t have time to add more.”

“B—but,” the filly sniffed, “what happens to all the ponies in the book?”

“They sleep, until somepony wakes them up again by writing more of their story.”

“So...if...” the filly said while her mother wiped her tears away. “If I write about them, They’ll wake up again?”

“That’s right. Now, time for you to go to sleep.”

The filly smiled as she received a goodnight kiss. “Goodnight, mom.”

“Goodnight, Twilight.”
