55.The heat of battle

The inside of the shop was quiet. Eerily so in fact. Usually around this time of day, the bustle of ponies outside would liven things up, but things were different.

The owner was trying his best not to tremble as he plied his trade. Slowly, carefully, almost frighteningly delicately running a comb and a pair of scissors through his client’s mane.

He’d had a hard time working through her coiffure and the original idea might have been a casualty. Clear Cut just hoped his client was as generous with her opinions as she was rumored to be with everything else.
