//------------------------------// // "Risked With Dragons" // Story: Only In The Rock Slide // by VisionOfLunasty //------------------------------// Journal - Inky Pie - Mental Entry 48 Bah. By Bah, I mean, we've been stuck down here with no help. Blinky has been waking up, though. That is the good news. I can feel in my lower legs now, but it hurts to try to walk. I'm waiting for a pony to come help us, hopefully Trixie. I know Trixie is horrible and thinks that she could do such much more right now. Even after losing to her own battle. I'm rather upset, about her. The only way she could ever make money is by working with us, and she's taking the name of "rock farmers" to a new low. A low I've never known was there. I wonder how rich ponies feel? Could you imagine the delight? Strolling in the bright lights Canterlot at night. Maybe I should write a story about it. I know how it would start; Inky Pie, a pony who went from the lowest of all lows to the greatest pony in Equstria. Though she lived a harsh life of a rock farmer with an abuse father and depressive mother, she managed to climb her way up to the big city, along with her youngest sister, Blinky Pie. The two were on a mission, a mission to bring their sister to tears. Don't get them wrong, though. They aren't the bad guys. Yes. That works perfectly. Though, I might be revealing the plot too quickly? I don't know. I don't like this whole, writing in my mind, thing. I miss my paper. I miss my pencil. I miss the disgusting sight of grey and white everywhere with the calm color of brown to compliment my father's tone. Sigh. I blinked my eyes open. I still see the darkness that I've been flooded with for... How many hours has it been? At least twelve. Twelve hours is a long time, even with sleep. One can only dream for so long, and them some more due to the lack of joy in these caves. I open my mouth slightly. A tiny squeal escaped my mouth and I took in a sharp breath. "Help!" I yelled one more time. My eyes caught a little bit of movement, but I didn't care unless it responded back. The movement got bigger as it started to stand and walk closer to me, my vision was obscured and blurry from the darkness that was in front of me, and my ears flattened as I was deep in fear. I couldn't move, and for all I know it could be one of those "diamond dogs" we were warned about. I felt my heart race as it got closer and soon, it's face was in mine. I shut my eyes and waited for something to happen. Bad or good. "Hey, Inky-" I opened my eyes to see a pair of yellow beams in my face, "-You awake?" I let out a sigh as Blinky pulled herself back. I rolled my eyes and started to get myself up. "I mean, well, are you okay? You look like you're in pain." I scoff slightly. "Blinky, I can't move my back legs too much, if I do, I fall. I may have broken legs." I look down at my limbs that were wobbly. Blinky sighed. "I could... carry you?" She whispered and lifted my front hooves up and put them on her back. "It won't be too bad for me." I let out a chuckle. My violet eyes gleamed brightly as there were minor stone-gems behind Blinky. They greeted my eyes so slightly, I'm surprised I even saw them. "No, No. Blinky- you are going to carry gems. There are some behind you." I moved my front hooves off from Blinky and struggled to stand up by myself. "Wanna go grab them?" Blinky looked behind herself and saw the amber gleams that I had. "Oh, sure! How many?" I tilted my head slightly. What a dumb question. "Well. You know, only one or two-" Blinky nodded and ran towards the gems and only grabbed one in her mouth and started to come back. I let out a sharp scoff, "-All of them. All of them, Blinky." I raged in my sarcasm. "Oh." Blinky went back to the pile and grabbed all of the gems, there was only four or five, but it was enough to get us a house. I was shocked, our family never took in consideration to be miners instead. I'd rather be risked in dragons. That's it. I knew something was wrong when we first fell in here. "Blinky. Blinky, we need to get out." I grumbled violently. I staggered to move towards the hole we came from, though the pressure on my hind legs was sharp. I collapsed. How could I not know that clearings are the worse thing to fall into. Everything is always so safe in Equestria, until you run into the occasional Hydra, Griffon, Manticore, Gorgon and, well, Dragon. It's terrible, really. How you can feel so safe, and then the next minute realize you can probably die. Blinky trotted back over with the amber gems and dropped them by me. "Alright. Climb up my back." I rest my hooves on top of Blinky's back and pushed my back legs. My front legs were filled with pressure as they finally got all my weight lifted onto my sister, the next step was to fit my strength to climb up the stone wall. How my body felt like waste as I tried to get up, but my back legs were not doing me any good. Blinky moved away and got her hooves under my legs- shoving me up into the hole. She passed the gems to me, and I caught them with ease. I lowered my front hooves to grab her, and she did the same. Pulling her up, something caught my eye. Something I didn't want to see. Crawling out from the shadows was a puff of smoke, and following it would be a massive, devilish, murderous creature that would soon devour us whole. My heart racing, I dragged my sister up the rocks as I pulled her into the same spot as me. The dragon hadn't come out yet, so we weren't seen. I ducked my head and pushed Blinky's down, too. The smoke puff got darker, along with the sound of footsteps. Heavy footsteps. Out from the shadows came the monster. Or, maybe, the baby monster. Out from the shadows came a tiny, baby dragon with a dark grey shade for scales. It's eyes were a sweet amber brown color, reminding me of the gems. This had to be an Ambergris Dragon- famous for the ball of grease and mass in their stomachs that was formed from the fuel of the Amber Stone. The amber stones were had in our hands. However, it may be very cute, but following that baby would be the mother. I stand up and throw one of the Amber Stones out towards the baby and started to walk away. "Blinky- we'll be safe. Lets go." I started to walk away, but before I knew it- Blinky was back in the cavern carrying the Baby Dragon with her. "Blinky!" I whisper loudly, turning around. "We do not have time for this. Get back up here!" Blinky chuckled as she trotted back to the hole, putting the baby dragon up beside me and crawling back up. "We'll keep the dragon and sell the Ambergris. We can name him Amby." The baby dragon screeched loudly, and bounced up the path we slid down. "Amb-" I hesitate. I wasn't in the mood for arguing. I was just going to go to the right cavern and get gems from there, too. Then I would go sell them to a pawn shop and get my money. "You know, what? Fine. Let's go 'Amby'." I trotted up, following the dragon, and behind me, was my sister.
