Tears kept coming out of Luna's eyes. What purpose do these tears serve? The tears on her face feels warm. Then she felt a tap on her shoulder coming from behind, Luna turned around. Celestia. With her mane all tangled and messy. She looked like she haven't slept well.
"Sorry about before" Celestia apologized, her eyes wide and dreamy.
"How did thy know we're here?" Luna started to wipe her eyes with both her hooves. Luna hates it when other ponies see her cry. Celestia gave a weak smile, "Remember when we were small? You always come here, to this lake when you are sad and I always come and pick you up." Luna still remembers. At that time they weren't alicorns yet, but as sisters they are really close.
"We- I do" Luna said. Adjusting her voice so it stays strong. Right now, Luna just wished things never change. If things never change, she and her sister would still be tightly bonded. They would still be little foals playing around in a small village. But things change.
"At that time, we did everything together. We played together. We bathe together. We also slept together. Just me and you, a happy family" Celestia sighed remembering the good times. "You also cried a lot back then" she smirked, but a playful one.
"No I don't!" Luna exclaimed. Luna knows she did, but admitting would be foolish.
Ignoring Luna, Celestia continued, "We also gave this lake a name"
"Crystal Lake" they said together.
"The water used to be so clear" Luna said thinking back to the old days.
"Yeah..." Celestia agreed. They looked at the lake which is dark and swampy now. The pollution increases over the years and the lake is one of the victim.
"Then we became alicorns" Luna blurted out. The expression on her face changed to a darker one. One that showed loneliness and sadness.
"Yeah, to rule over the other ponies we spend less time together and before we know it, you've became..." She trailed off.
"SO THAT GIVES YOU THE REASON TO PRISON ME INSIDE THE MOON FOR A THOUSAND YEARS HUH?" Luna screamed with her royal Canterlot voice.
"I'm... Really sorry, Luna"
"SORRY? YOU THINK A SORRY CAN SOLVE THE PAIN IN MY HEART? BEING BETRAYED BY MY OWN SISTER. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LONELY I FELT. YOU DIDN'T EVEN CARE AND YOU WOULDN'T EVEN CARE IF I DIED." Luna shouted. The instant Luna finished her sentence she got a hoof to the face.
"Shut up! Never talk about you dying again! You're my only sister and family and I WILL NOT LOSE YOU!" Celestia started to tear too. "You're my reason to be alive." Luna's mouth opened wide.
"S-so you still love me?" Luna whispered to Celestia. She nodded. "No matter what happens, I will always love and care for you Luna."
"B-but why did you prisoned me inside the moon?"
"Because I was scared. If I let Nightmare Moon loose, then I would have to... kill you. The moment I lets that thought into my mind I was scared and afraid to lose you. So even if it means to lock you up for a thousand years, I would do it as long as you stay alive." After Celestia finished, Luna was already putting her hooves around her elder sister and Celestia put hers around Luna too.
For the rest of the night, they spend next to Crystal Lake.
