//------------------------------// // Prologue // Story: Doctor Whooves Episode 1: Enter The Doctor // by DailyLampoon //------------------------------// The Doctor ran furiously in circles around the Tardis control panel, pushing buttons and pulling levers frantically trying to correct his course. The Tardis shook violently and knocked the Doctor off his feet The Doctor sat up groaning, “You didn’t like that one bit, did you old girl. Let’s see if we can fix this and get you back on track.” The Doctor stood up, dusted himself off he returned to the controls. Somewhere above him he heard a slight popping sound. Then from the depths of the Tardis there was a muted explosion. Another rumble knocked the Doctor from the control platform to the floor below “Oh dear, you really are upset aren't you,” complained the Doctor as he sat up. Moving to the controls again the Doctor said, “Okay trying something new let’s put you down and have a nice long rest sound good old girl?” moving to the display screen the Doctor read off several nasty problems, including a shortage of fuel. A sudden blast at the control panel blasted him into a nearby pillar. The Doctor blinked vigorously in a futile attempt to clear his vision. The blackness slowly engulfed him as a golden mist seemed to leak from his mouth. The Tardis rumbled to an abrupt stop, after a grinding sound a serene, peaceful silence came over the enclosed space as a golden mist filled the control room and the Doctor changed form going from a bipedal “human”-like shape to a quadruped form with an elongated neck and face.  For a long time there was no sound in the Tardis, except for the steady and quiet breathing of the Doctor As he stood up several cracks came from the the Doctor’s back and legs as he moaned, “Ugh boy that was no fun at all. Hmm I seem to be closer to the ground than I remember.” As the Doctor got up to move in the general direction of the controls he  fell face first into the ground. Deciding a full body examination was in order the Doctor rolled over onto his back and looked at his hands, or at least where his hands used to be, “Oh bugger how am I going to hold the sonic with these things?” long brown appendages sat where his arms used to be and the Doctor surmised that they must be hooves. Giggling he sat up and shouted “I’m a pony, a pony, well that’s a new one-” using both his hooves he gently pulled a strand of his mane down to look at “-and nope, still not ginger. Ahh well can’t ask for everything, can you.” Sitting up again the Doctor looked around for a mirror to get a better examination of his body. Not finding one he moved deeper into the Tardis until he encounter a problem he was not ready for... a door. As he gripped the handle in his mouth he turned his entire head to the side and grunted in effort, "ere haff to be an eafier way to do fis," the door slid open and the Doctor slipped in with a triumphant grin on his face. He stepped in front of the full size mirror, he made not of the fact that his head was only slightly above where his waist once was, his clothing that once fit perfectly were now draped roughly around his form and had an odd shape around his flank area. Stripping out of his cloths he examined his full body in the mirror his body was the same neutral brown as his hooves were, his mane and tail were a darker brown. On his flank there was an hourglass, "Hmm I've always wanted a tattoo, I wonder if this counts." Stepping away with one last wiggle of his flank the Doctor said, "I make a fairly attractive pony, I think," and with many new thoughts to ponder he stepped out of the room tying a green tie around his neck. Returning to the control center the Doctor examined the screen again and sighed, "Oh dear, I really did it this time didn't I. All I can do at this point is let you fix yourself old girl," gently patting the panel he moved to the front door of the Tardis, and braced himself for what the outside world would look like. Opening the door the first thing that struck the Doctor were the bright pastel colors that met his eyes, the next thing was as domed castle coming out of a mountain, and the third was the hundreds of ponies milling around the streets outside of the alley that the Tardis had parked itself in. Trotting out of the alley the Doctor laughed to himself, "Let's go make some friends and possibly find out some new things." Stopping in his tracks the Doctor stood in middle of a, slightly crowded, street to ponder his goals "Well they are quiet lofty but we'll make them work. First stop the Library!"
