Rosey Red

The faster it clicks, The more I follow it.

Waken by a soft breeze, I slowly open my dry, dusty eyes. I blink a few times to take in the light. Or, what I thought was light. When only it was a piece of glass, reflecting in my eyes. I slowly sit up. Pain struck in my head like a bullet.

"Ugh... " I groan. I rub my forehead.

I roughly get up staggering for my balance. I take in my surroundings. Broken glass. Huge trees and sharp bushes. I feel moistness and smell rain. Seems like I'm in a forest. I start to walk slowly for my legs where as jello. They hurt, I looked and saw a gash in my right leg. From my flank to my crest in my knee. I whimper.

I still push forth in this large forest. It was mostly green and brown. The occasional blue or red flower. I thought it was beautiful and majestic. Then, out of the blue, I stopped and listen for a second and heard a faint 'Click' sound up ahead. I try to make my steps quiet as branches break under my hooves. I follow the noise up ahead.

I hoped for it to be Red. I wanted to huddle with him and fall asleep on him while he treats my wounds. A tear slipped through and fell to the forest floor. I decided to sit down and clean my coat of dry blood. I started to cry again. Tears over flow my eyes.

I walked on forward still looking for the thing that makes the clicking noise. When I came up on this river. I put my hoof in it and shot it back in a millisecond. It was freezing cold. Not fit for walking through.

I ran around the side of the river bank looking for a way over it. The only way was the three rocks that stuck out of the water in a row.

I shivered and cringed as the water rushed by the rocks, splashing and throwing up in the air. Causing the rocks to become more and more slippery. I thought about what would happen if I feel in the the water and got taken away by the current. How Red would be lost somewhere out here in the forest. If he was IN the forest. Oh, how I hoped he was in the forest. I hope he was the one causing the clicking sound. Thinking about the clicking sound, it had become to grow stronger. Louder. Closer.

I began to encourage myself to hop those rocks, and run to the clicking sound. In hope it is Red. Beside the fact I have an open wound on my hind leg. I still bled, yet not as bad.

I looked at the rocks, then back to the forest from where I came. I slowly turned around and trotted back into the forest... Then whipped around and ran full speed toward the rocks. I came so close to falling in the water as I hopped to the first rock. I stood there trying to maintain balance. Once done, I got in position to hop to the next rock.

I put all my strength in to this jump and barely caught the side of the rock. My hooves cling onto the rock as the strong current pulled and tugged at my legs.

I prayed to Celestia that I live.
