Chapter 5 

The room was filled tension. The waiting was killing them, Twilight was worried, Rainbow was fidgeting nervously on the couch, and Millennium was standing by the window looking out into the night sky. Everything was silent, with the exception of Spike who had somehow managed to fall asleep in the corner of the room. The anticipation was killing them. Well mainly Twilight, she had began to sweat a little. She muttered to herself. " Come on Celestia. Where are you?" It seemed that no sound could escape the ancient drakes ears. Without turning he said loud enough for everypony to hear. " Yes where are you? Not like you of all ponys to be late. Especially now." His eyes never left the window. He wasn't sure what he was looking at. It wasn't the stars, or the sky. Just up, waiting for her to arrive. 

Minutes began to pass, everypony was getting impatient. When finally the silence was interrupted as Twilight spoke up. " I cant take this anymore!  Spike!" The dragon woke from his sleep. " Im going to go to the castle. I need you to watch these two while im gone." He nodded at her. " Yeah no problem Twi." She had began her teleportation spell when there was a rather distinguishing knock at the door. All of them turned to face the door, Twi, Rainbow and Spike recognized who it was but Millennium misinterpreted the new arrival. He pounced at the door knocking it down reveal two very surprised ponys. (Insert loud sequel). Rainbow poked her head out. " Oh hey Fluttershy, Rarity. Whats up?" Her words went unanswered. " My goodness!" She peaked her head around the drake. " Twilight darling, would you care to explain just what THIS is?" Fluttershy had fled the scene hiding behind a tree not that far away, she edged out. " I-Is it safe?" Twilight sighed in frustration. " Ugh, get in here both of you LONG story. "

For the third time the story had been told. The same the Fluttershy and Rarity shared the same faces Rainbow had when she first heard it. A combination of confusion, pity and in Fluttershy's case concern. " Oh, you poor thing, alone for so long." She attempted to nuzzle and console him but was gently brushed away with his claw. " Thank you for your concern but im ok, truly..... Fluttershy was it? " She blushed and stepped away. " Oh yes, Very nice to meet you. I'm Fluttershy. This is-" She was interrupted. " I Am Rarity." She stepped forward looking as elegant as ever. " Pleasure to meet you both, Mrs. Rarity, Fluttershy." Rarity was reluctant shaking his claw but gave in, where as Fluttershy saw no difference between him and a normal pony now. " I must say, for one as young at heart as you claim to be you have exceptional manners.especially for one of... your kind." Twilight yelled at her. " RARITY!" Millennium laughed at them both. " Well keep in mind Mrs. Rarity I am still from Canterlot, a prince at that. And for the record, as ancient as i may look I am still technically a child. You know by immortal standards." Everyone face was suddenly filled with shock. They all yelled in unison. " IMMORTAL?" He couldn't help but laugh again. " Oh did I not tell you? My kind, or so me and my father are immortal beings. My father existed outside the bounds of reality, hence his unnatural powers." The look remained on all of their faces. Twilight spoke this time. " So you mean not all of your kind had that kind of power?" He was still carrying the same dopey look on his face as he attempted to explain himself. " You see, as my species began to go extinct more and more of the elders began to.... discover hidden powers. My father was one of the oldest of our kind, far beyond the normal life span of the others. So, he then had more time than everyone else to master these new powers. But I have to admit one thing. He had been around so long he was starting to go crazy, you know...just a bit." He cringed at that last sentence. Rarity spoke. " Yes something was a bit off with that fellow." Everypony glared at Rarity. She shrugged and lift her head up. " It's true." Everypony continued their glares, everypony except Him. He just laugh's like he always does. This catches them all by surprise. " Does anything get to you?" Rainbow inquired. He just shrugged an continued floating around the room. " No not really, I mean she is right nothing about my father was, well right. He WAS genuinely insane. But he is still my father, and everything hes ever done was to protect me. So... the very least I owe him is to have him set free." The look of shook returned to their faces. "Wha-*CRASH*"  The noise reverberated through the library startling everypony. Fluttershy hid behind Rarity, Rainbow took her attack position and Twilight sat there smiling knowing who had just arrived. She was here. About time.
