//------------------------------// // Boiling Anger // Story: My Little Poemy: Diary of a Deity // by Lightning Delight //------------------------------// Boiling Anger And so begins another day In our land of Equestria, As I begin to set my moon To make way for Celestia. The ponies amble out of their homes, Shaking off their dreams. Preparing for the day ahead, The joy with which it teems. My sister and I, we rule this land In perfect harmony. Watching our belov’d subjects, Content and happily. The love and thanks we both receive Is the greatest gift of all. The joy and bliss that fill my heart I return each nightfall. The night is my greatest gift To the ponies down below. My art, a perfect masterpiece, With love that I bestow. But…. I have a feeling I cannot place, Weighing down my thoughts. But nothing’s wrong that I can see. Is there something I forgot? Something’s there, in the back of my mind, Eating away at me. When I raised the moon last night What was it I didn’t see? The night was normal, if I recall. Same as each day before. But now that I stop and give it thought, No ponies were there to adore. Yes, that’s it, that’s what is wrong. There was nopony outside. But why, oh why would that be so? Why would they want to hide? It’s not that they dislike my night. Of this, I am sure. But now I can’t help but recall What Discord’s warnings were. Could it be that they don’t care? What was it that he said? They only love Tia’s day And waste my night in bed? No! It’s false! It cannot be! They surely love my night! But then I go and look outside And see that Discord is right. Look at them, happy ponies laughing, Playing through the day. But when the moon begins to rise, Is outside where they stay? No, of course, it never is. They all will run inside. Shunning and hating my glorious night, From my moon they hide. Tia simply tells me I’m wrong, She says it’s all in my head. But when her sun is in the sky Are the ponies all in bed? She just doesn’t understand, She never will, I bet. Tia only sees the world Before her sun has set. She’s never had to deal with this. She is, after all, the sun The ponies will always love her For everything she’s done. And me, standing next to her, They simply cannot see. Look at all I’ve done for them And they just ignore me. I gave them the moon, the stars in the sky, I protect them in their dreams. And yet they fear me, detest and hate me, A monster is all I seem. I gave them my love, and what do they do? Respond with hate and spite! I’ll make them realize The true glory of night! When I’m through they won’t have time For happiness and fun. I’ll usher in a new regime. Nopony will see the sun! And now the sun begins to set And they all run to bed. If they won’t willingly enjoy my night, I just have to make them instead!
