The Diary

It was just another day in the castle. It was early in the morning, and I had some business to attend to like I did every day. But before I did, I needed to clean my room. It's easy for your room to become a mess when you have almost no time to clean it. But that's why I had gotten up so early; I had every intention of cleaning that room.

It took me a while, but I had finally managed to put the majority of the things where they belonged. I was almost done.

“Tia! It’s time for breakfast!” Luna called from outside my door, knocking on it as well.

“Hold on!” I called over my shoulder.

I gathered up the rest of the things and shoved them under the bed. I then began to make my way toward the door, but remembered that I was supposed to take a letter to one of the guards. I sighed when I realized that it must have been one of the things I put under the bed. I quickly got on my stomach and started to search around for it.

My hoof bumped something hard. That was odd, considering that I had only put old papers down there.

I reached in and grabbed it. It was a book! How in Equestria had a book gotten under my bed? I dragged it out. It was very dusty.

“Tia!”

“Hold on for a minute!”

I held the book and looked at it curiously. I honestly had no idea what it was. After blowing the dust off of the cover, I opened it.

Goodness, the pages were just as dusty as the cover. Tears instantly came to my eyes after I blew the first page off.

I saw a picture I had drawn long ago. It was a big, orange sun with a big happy face. There was a hoofprint on the bottom half of the page, and I put my hoof up to it. It was a little bit smaller than mine right now, but it was definitely mine from a long time ago. I chuckled as I thought how silly it looked, and how silly I was when I made it. This must have been at least five hundred years old.

I flipped the page after just fanning the book around to clear the dust off of the rest of the pages. I put my hoof to my mouth in surprise as I remembered exactly what this was.

It was one of the happiest days of my life.

I was taken back in time as I remembered what happened that day. I’m pretty sure that Luna called my name again, but I didn’t care. How had I forgotten about this diary?

All I knew was that I was going to sit there and make sure I never forgot again.
