Not so Friendly Prank

That's a joke?

Walking down the hallways of the castle, Princess Luna silently made her way towards her office as she prepared for the days workload. So far she was already scheduled for the usual meetings that were to occur in the afternoon with some of the other nobles of the land to discuss some of the different things that needed changes ranging from taxes to the building of new facilities. Before all that was to happen though, she had to work on a mountain of paperwork that had built up on her desk.

That was the part she hated most about the position she had; she could handle the talking, the acting proper when necessary. But that paperwork... That bucking paper work was the worst thing ever for her.

Every time she tried to sit down and begin writing, her mind felt like it was going to fry up in an instant from thinking like this. Even if she took a break to relax, the moment she returned back to it, the same annoying feeling would come in. 'Why couldn't it be more like a game?' She would always say to herself, All those bright colors and awesome scenes just kept entranced. This stuff however... She would just look at a piece of paper and the killing boredom was already settling in. Whatever she felt about it though, she knew she had to do it.

Entering her office, Luna trotted over to her desk and sat down in her chair. Levitating the paper over to herself, the numbing pain already began to take over her senses as she read the title to the page. "Permit to annual Canterlot parade. Oh wonderful, now I have to go over all of the different rules and forums to post along with this sheet." She scoffed at herself.

Taking a breath, she picked up the quill and ink next to her and began to write along the lines. The black ink sunk into the page as the small feather swiped across the surface and-

"Hehehe!"

"Huh?" Luna perked her ears up at the sudden sound of laughter in the room. Looking around, she tried to find the source of it, but after seeing nothing she figured it was her imagination. Shrugging her shoulders, she went back to writing on the page. She stopped when she noticed her ink was now a light blue coloring instead of black. "What the...?"

Dabbing the quill back into the ink jar, Luna took it out and wrote again. Only to find the color had been changed to a moss green. "What's going on?"

"Hahaha!"

The laughter grew loud as a purple flash appeared in the center, with Twilight giggling to herself. "Gotcha! Changing color ink on you!"

As the young alicorn laughed to herself, Luna cocked an eyebrow up in confusion. 'What just happened?' She thought to herself. "Twilight, you put this ink here?"

"Yeah, I switched it out with your normal jar before you came in here, and You fell for it!"

The lunar princess had to resist the urge to let her chin hang open in utter disbelief in Twilight's idea of a prank. She figured that Twilight had heard about what happened in the past few weeks and has tried to hop into the idea. While she knew her sisters pupil was never the best at jokes, yet she didn't realize she was this dense. Despite that fact, Luna didn't want to hurt her feelings and make her feel bad. Forcing a grin, she half chuckled to nothing. "That was a good one, Twilight. Wow, you sure got me."

"Uh... Yeah, it was pretty good. Took me a little to think of that one." Twilight said with a smirk."

"Mm hmm." Luna grumbled. 'It took a while to think of that?'

"Takes a smart mind to think of that kind of joke."

'Or no sense of humor.'

"Here..." Twilight summoned a glass of water and levitated it over to Luna. "You look a little thirsty. Here."

Luna lifted her eyebrows in delight. "Actually, water does sound good." Taking the water in her grasp, she brought it up and took a small sip. To her excitement, there was a small touch of-

"Haha! Gotcha again!" Twilight burst out into giggles once again."you thought it was just water, but I squeezed a lemon in there!" And in a flash, she disappeared.

Luna just stared blankly at the wall behind where Twilight was at what she just heard. "The lemon actually makes it taste better..." She quietly said to herself. She once thought Pinkie Pie was a dunce, but this pony took it to a new level. "Rainbow is right... She is an egghead."

Smiling at her success, Twilight was happily trotting down towards the royal kitchen for a snack. As she past the small dining room to her right, she stopped when she heard the sound of something bouncing up and a down. Curious, she trotted up to the door and pushed it open. "Hello? Somepony in-

She stopped at the sight before her; Discord had set up a ping pong table and instead of a ball, he was using his right eye! The yellow orb was bouncing across the table and against the half of the table stood up before returning to him. While he was smacking his eyeball back with his paddle, he glanced over to Twilight and grinned. "Oh hello Twiley! So nice to see you."

Twilight shook her head to clear her shock, remembering she was talking to the spirit of chaos. "H-hello Discord. How have you been?"

"Oh I've been well. Playing some wonderful ping pong." Catching the eye in his paw, both he and that eye looked at her and blinked. "Wanna play?"

"Uh... No."

"Oh phooey." The spirit tossed the eye back into his head me snapping his talons, causing the table to disappear. In his claws, a small chalkboard appeared as he began stretching whatever he was drawing. "So what brings you here?"

"I was just grabbing a snack from the kitchen and-

"I mean what brings you to the castle?" Discord interrupted.

"Oh... I just returned from Saddle Arabia from a meeting. I came to discuss some of the details with the princess."

"Ah, so fulfilling your duties as a princess, how cute..." Discord chuckled. "How do you enjoy being a princess for a week?"

Frowning, Twilight sat her rump on the ground to get comfortable. "Actually, I became a princess over a month ago. But you probably don't know since you weren't there."

The spirit sarcastically dropped his chalk piece and gasped. "I wasn't? Oh my goodness..." He placed his talons on the surface of the chalkboard. "Oh I feel soooo awful for that."

SCREEAAAAAAAACH!!!!!!!!!

Twilight felt her entire body shutter and twitch at the grinding sound of claws on chalk. After a moment he stopped and shook his claws with a grin. "Must have slipped my mind."

Getting rid of her shudders, Twilight glared at the deviant spirit. "Anyway... I heard how you started the princesses into doing pranks."

"Oh isn't it wonderful!? It is so much more entertaining now. You should do one and try it out."

A smile crept across Twilights face. "Actually, I did."

"Really?" Discord tossed the board up into the air, which turned into dust before hitting the ground. "What did you do?"

5 minutes later

"And that's what I did!"

Discord's face had turned into perhaps the blankest expression in the history of all of Equestria. "Twilight, can I be honest with you?"

"Sure." Perking up, Twilight waited for the good news.

Sighing, Discord sat down in a large red chair and crossed his legs. Putting his talons and paw together, he shut his eyes and sat still for a moment. "Let me just explain my reaction to this...."
