//------------------------------// // CHAPTER 19 // Story: Discorded Humanity // by The Drifting Bard //------------------------------// Dont shoot the messenger Grimm died on the hospital bed. not alot could have been done except makingit easier for him to pass on. "he was a true patriot" Sunny said as he sat beside me. "see you space cowboy" was all i said. as i walked out of the hospital, Celestia was waiting. i spotted a griffin land infront of her. i was about to charge, but quickly stopped myself when the griffin knelt. "the king sends his sincerest apologies," i walked slowly towards the group and simply listened. "had we known that Terrinscore was...insane, we would have sent someone else" "ah... i thought as much," i tapped the griffin on the shoulder, "has he been captured?" the griffin shook his head. "then, i wish to speak to your king in person, a simple request"the griffin looked me up and down. "very well, i shall return wtih the king in a day, be at Canterlot Castle" the griffin flew off. jumping ahead of time, i wound up in the castle, waiting. finally the griffin king walked in. within a few moments, i stood infront of him staring him in the eyes. "you, knight?" i simply nodded, "look, your highness, lets not beat around the bush" he raised an eyebrow at how forward i was being, "you can speak?" "every fucking time- look, i'm simply requesting permission to hunt down Terrinscore and" "kill him? granted" i wasn't shocked to say the least.. "take the youngling with you" "why?" "the fool seeks adventure" i simply flipped him off and then walked into the armoury, "yo, Forge... i think i'll need some better armour" "why exactly?" he hadnt looked at me, concentrating on his work. "well... just look at me" i chuckled. the armour i had on was scratched and dented in some areas. the greaves had deep cuts going through them, barely missing my legs. and the torso protection was now non-existant. "honestly, getting ionvolved with griffins is hard work" i chuckled. he raised an eyebrow, but quickly got to work. "just stay here for now, okay?" i nodded, and promtly sat down. "so, Dave, who are you really?" Forge asked. it was one of those pressing questions which i would never be able to answer. "never took you for a philosipher forge?" "theres alot you can learn by making armour" he answered. i sat there in deep thought. finally i had my answer, "i am who i'm needed to be"* "hmm interesting answer, but thats not what i ment" "oh... i am Sir David Payne, Knight of the wind" he finally clicks. "i wondered... its been five years, but you probably don't remember" "Remember what?" he stopped and looked at me. "you... killed my family while you were that... monster" everything seemed to stop, a silent tear rolled down my cheek. "i'm sorry....i'm so sorry" my voice wavered. "Dave, your forgiven" i sighed. "i dont deserve" "you do, you saved us that day and these things happen" he patted me on the back and continued working. i fell asleep in the armoury. a very bad idea. i heard the sounds of the last peice being imnued with magical energy. "here, try it on" i slung each peice towards me. "i've used my magic to strengthen the steel, and i've added an elemental debuff to it, so basically any elemental magic that gets thrown your way wont have much of an effect on you" i grinned. "so basically its magic armour, strong against elements and sharp or blunt objects, weak against other magics" "pretty much," Forge chuckled. "just try and clean it once in a while" i mock saluted and left for the throne room. "so, wheres the youngling?" i walked in. "right here sir" the griffin answered "good, your coming with me" "where?" he asked another question. "to settle a score" i growled. * the answer is in actual fact my own...
