SNUFF PART 2
BY: BRINGER OF DESPAIR

"It's ok Twilight. Your not alone in this world, for I will keep you company," a mysterious voice echoed throughout the room.

To say Twilight was startled would be an understatement. She was looking around the somewhat bright room looking for where the voice had come from. Finding nothing, she decided to respond to the voice, "Hello, who's there?"

"Why, I think you should have recognized me by now?" the voice asked, feigning hurt.

"What do you mean by that?" Twilight asked, confusion dominating her voice.

"I mean, we have met before. It was just under different circumstances. Also, don't try calling for your guard for I am actually in your head," the voice replied.

Now Twilight was really confused. The voice said they met before and that it was in her head. What had it meant by that? Wanting some answers, Twilight decided to ask the first thing that came to mind, "What do you mean, 'we have met before?'"

"You mean you don't recognize my voice. You were the only one to know who I was when I made my appearance known. You were the one to defeat me that same night," the voice said, irritation clear in its tone.

Recognition finally settling in, Twilight was starting to freak out. "Y-yo-you mean yo-your Nigh-nightmare Moon? How I-is th-that even pos-possible? The Elements of Harmony defeated you, how are you even here?"

"To answer your first question, yes I am Nightmare Moon. Before I answer your other two questions, yes the Elements of Harmony did in fact defeat me. As to why I am here, let me explain. As you know, when Celestia first defated me, she did it with the five known elements, the sixth one was still unknown at that time. When you and your deceased friends defeated me, you all had the full power of the Elements of Harmony.

"When that blast hit me, it actually purged my soul from Luna's body into your element crown. When that happened, I was stripped of my physical form and my magic. After that was done, the metaphysical forms of the Elements of Harmony came to me saying that the only way I would be released would be if either one or all the Elements of Harmony died. Unfortunately for me, when I would be free, I would still be stripped of my magic but given a body of my own."

There was a short pause so Twilight's mind could process what it had just been told. After she fully understood what has been explained to her, she asked the first thing that came to mind, "Alright, I understand what you said to me, but that still doesn't explain why you are here?"

"I was getting to that," Nightmare Moon stated, getting back to her explanation. "As to why I am here, that is very simple. After your friends died, the Elements refused to give me a body, so I decided to fuse into the mind of the pony that was the bearer of the Element I was trapped in. Any other questions?"

Twilight took a moment to process everything she had just been told. After taking a moment, she responded, "So let me get this straight, you weren't defeated just purged. When you were purged, you were placed in my Elements of Harmony crown. Once there, you were stripped of your magic and body and was told the only way you would be free, was when one or all of the Elements had died. Unfortunately when that happened, your were refused a body and decided to latch onto my mind. Did I sum up everything correctly?"

"You are spot on with the details," Nightmare Moon said quite impressed.

"Now answer me this one question; what did you mean by 'I am not alone' and 'You will keep me company?'" Twilight asked. Nightmare was just about to answer before being cut off. "I know I'm not alone because I still have Celestia and Luna. They can keep me company."

Nightmare Moon was quick to respond to this. "You see, that is where you are wrong young Twilight Sparkle. Celestia and Luna maybe with you for eternity, but they have to many responsibilities to keep you company for all that time. Eventually, they will not be able to spend any time with you at all."

"That's not true, Celestia always has time for me. Even when her schedule is full, she always tried to make time to spend with me when I was her student," Twilight retorted, trying to disbelieve and disprove what Nightmare Moon was saying to her. "Even Luna would come to the library or I would come to the castle and I would help her with her speech and she would teach me about the night sky."

"Dear Twilight, how naïve can you be. Yes it may be true that they made time for you in the past, but think about it. You yourself are a princess now with your own responsibilities to Equestria, can you honestly think you'll have time to spend with them now. Albeit, you will see them in the dining hall and around the castle, but you will all be too busy to make time for each other anymore.

"To be honest, I don't think you were ever told what you are the Princess of. Celestia is Princess of the Sun and Luna is Princess of the Night. What are you the Princess of exactly? Before you answer that, let me tell you something that might or might not change everything you know about magic. What if I told you there was a way to save your friends from right here in Canterlot without ever leaving your room? Now what if I told that Celestia and Luna were the ones that organized the disaster that happened in Ponyville?"

If Twilight wasn't shocked before, she sure was now. So many things were going through her head right now, she couldn't keep track of it all. But the main thing that stood out the most to her was that very last question Nightmare Moon asked, 'Now what if I told Celestia and Luna were the ones that organized the disaster that happened in Ponyville?' What had she meant by that? What was she not telling her that was clearly the cause of her friends deaths? How were Celestia and Luna involved in this entire ordeal she went through? These were all questions that she wanted answers to, and she was going to get them no matter the price. One way or the other she was going to get her answers.

"Alright Nightmare Moon, I have some questions that I want answers to now. But before I ask them, I have one simple question if you don't mind?" Twilight said with a serious tone.

"I will answer all of your questions to the best of my ability, my dear Twilight," Nightmare Moon said. "What is this simple question you have?"

"What is the price you want for the answers I seek? I can't guarantee anything, but I will certainly do my best to satisfy you," Twilight said getting straight to the point.

"The only payment I seek is given a body with my magic so that I may help you get closure for what happened to you friends. I will even give you the spell so that you may do so," Nightmare Moon said, honesty and truthfulness all over her voice. "Do you agree with this condition for you answers?"

Twilight didn't even need to think of an answer, because she kind of figured this was going to be the price for her answers. "Yes."
