~Junior Speedster's Flight Camp~
Giggles sounded from the lower bunk, as the two forms beneath the blankets shifted about. A rainbow-maned head, with a pink-maned head beneath it, rose up from the blankets. The two young mares giggled before engaging in a sweet kiss.
"We're soooo gonna get in trouble for skipping our next activity, Fluttershy!" Rainbow Dash giggled, kissing the yellow mare's face.
Fluttershy giggled in delight, "Oh well...that's too bad. Maybe you shouldn't be so...sexy with your flying, Dashie..."
"Oh yeah? And maybe you shouldn't have been so seductive!" Rainbow snickered, capturing her lips into another kiss.
Their heated makeout session continued for some time, most especially when one of Rainbow's hooves slipped away under the covers. Where it went was anyone's guess, but by Fluttershy's moans, it was easy to tell what she was doing. Their tongues battled, Fluttershy's moans grew between their hot kisses, and it was sure getting warm in there.
That was when their cabin door flew open and an intrusive, huge form came walking in.
"Dash, there you are! Where the heck did you go? You were supposed to show up for flight-" Gilda's eyes went wide at what she saw going on.
Rainbow and Fluttershy both gasped, turning to look at the Griffon who had inadvertently interrupted their intimacy. Neither of them spoke a word as a very awkward silence fell over them. Both pegasi remained frozen on the bunk, making no effort to hide the fact that they were lying on top of each other. Gilda meanwhile stared at the two with a very dumbfounded look.
At least, before her edge returned and she glared.
"Seriously, Dash?! Seriously?! You're actually banging a lame little dweeb like her?!"
Fire in her eyes, Rainbow Dash flew out of bed and over to her teammate. "Hey, you take that back! Fluttershy isn't lame or a dweeb! And for your information, I'm not 'banging' anypony! I was making sweet love to Fluttershy!"
Rolling her eyes, Gilda groaned and faceclawed. "Whatever you want to call it, I can't believe what you're doing. Do you WANT to ruin your reputation?! If everyone else finds out about this, Dash, you're going to be heading in a downward spiral. Nothing will ever save your awesomeness, you'll never live it down! But ya know, if you quit doing this, I might just hold back in telling everyone about what you were doing. Sorry Dash, but it's the way the awesomeness spectrum works. I can't just not tell. But if you try to keep up your awesomeness, you might just make up for it..."
Rainbow looked destroyed before sinking to the floor. Tears pooled in her eyes, but she held them back.
"Well?" Gilda sneered. "What's it gonna be?"
Not even looking at her, Rainbow went over to the bunk. She looked at Fluttershy with an apologetic, sorrowful stare, before giving her a gentle kiss. In her ear, she whispered,
"I love you, Fluttershy...but I can't do this anymore. I need to think of my reputation....my hopes for becoming a Wonderbolt. ...I'm sorry."
Without waiting for an answer, or even looking at the distraught yellow pegasus, Rainbow followed Gilda out the door. The Griffon shot Fluttershy a very smug, satisfied look before closing the door behind them.
~Years later~
"So, ya finally came crawlin' back, Dash?" Gilda smirked, turning around to face the cyan pony.
Rainbow Dash glared, shaking her head. "No! I meant what I said back at Pinkie's party, Gilda! I am never coming crawling back to you! I don't need you to make me cool! I can make my own reputation, one that doesn't involve leaving my friends behind just because they're not like me! I made that mistake once. But I'm not making it again!"
"Whatever, Dash. Once a dweeb, always a dweeb." Gilda rolled her eyes. "Go ahead, go back to your precious little friends and that Fluttercry wimp."
"Her name is FLUTTERSHY!" Rainbow growled, pawing her hoof into the ground. "And thanks to my stupid idiocy, I just about lost the greatest friend and girlfriend I could have ever asked for! I wish I'd never listened to you! I wanted to give you a chance, I thought we could be friends again and I was ready to forgive you for it... But you're not even sorry! You don't regret it! All you regret is me being who I am! Well, fine! You get out of this town and never come back! This is my home now and this where all my friends are! As for Fluttershy... I love her, Gilda! And someday, I'm going to win her back!"
Groaning with impatience, Gilda spread her wings. "Fine, Dash. Have it your way. Don't think I'll let you drag me back into your lameness again."
Without waiting for a response, she took off.
Rainbow sighed, turning around and heading back toward Ponyville. At least, until she came across a very excited-looking pink face looking back at her.
"OH MY GOSH!!! You're in love with Fluttershy?!!? That is SO CUTE, Dashie! Why didn't you tell me?! You two would be so adorable together! You even used to date?! Awwwwwwwwwww!!! Now we have to work at getting you to win her back! It'll take time, it'll take planning...but slowly and surely, we're going to make sure that you win back Fluttershy's heart!" Pinkie squealed happily, bouncing about. "And that'll be when I throw a party for the two of you!! Ooooh! It's going to be so cool!"
Frozen in surprise, all Rainbow could do was stare awkwardly at the excited earth pony. This was not going to turn out well...
But at least she had somepony on her side about winning back Fluttershy.
