Our story stars with our hero waking up in a strange room with dark blue lights and a mini bar next to her filled with AppleJack Daniels and other drinks. As she looks around she seen two ponies in front of her.
"Well, well, well. It seems that we have a very special guess with an undeceive destiny" said a brownish looking pony with an hourglass for it's cutiemark.
Our hero was a bit scared and confused on what was going on
"My name is Doctor Hooves... It's an honor to make an acquaintance. This room you are in exist between dreams and reality, mind and matter. This is a room that those who agrees with us by a "contract" may enter. It may be the fate that awaits your future." Dr. Hooves explained.
Our hero was trying to understand what the heck is going on. She was about to ask Dr. Hooves a question but he quickly started talking.
"Where are my manners? I'm sorry, why don't you introduce yourself?" He asked
Our hero nodded and said " M-My name is Twilight Sparkle."
"That is a wonderful name Ms. Sparkle. Now let's see into your future." Dr. Hooves said
Dr. Hooves went under his chair that he was sitting in and pulled out a mini hourglass with pure white white sand within it.
"Do you believe in magic, Ms. Sparkle?" He asked
The hourglass's sand inside became crystals. Nine purples crystals, that looks the same but feels some what different.
"Each reading is done with the same crystals but every result will be different." He said
Dr. Hooves chuckled as he signaled Twilight over to the hourglass.
"Life itself follows the same principles, doesn't it?" He asked
A crystal started shining and it showed a palace that is being attacked down with lightning and the top of it is falling off.
"Well would you look at this? ... The palace in the upright position represents the immediate future. It looks like there will be a terrible catastrophe is imminent." He said
Twilight was a bit worried about the crystal that showed part of her own future. But it made her wonder even more.
"The crystal that will show the future beyond that is..." he started to say.
A second crystal started to show an image. It was a crescent moon facing the left.
"... The moon and it shows it's self in the upright position. THis image within the crystal represents "hesitation" and "Mystery" ... well that is quite indeed." he continued
Twilight taught of the words "hesitation" and "mystery" due to the face she know it's two keep words and she should keep them in her mind.
"What does that mean Doctor Hooves? She asked
" Oh please, just call me Doctor" he said "Now it seems you'll encounter a misfortune at destination and a great mystery awaits. As the days go, you will enter into an agreement of some sort, after which you will return here." He told her
Twilight nodded her head as she quickly understands the following statement.
"However the coming year is a turning point in your destiny... If you don't solve this mystery your future will be forever lost." He said with a worried look on his face.
Twilight face changed in an instant once she was choking on fear and shook from those words.
"My future will be forever lost!? T-that doesn't sound good at all!" Twilight screamed
"Relax miss Sparkle. It's my duty to provide assistance to our guest. To make sure you choose the right path." Dr. Hooves said
He tapped the top of the hourglass and all nine of the crystals inside turned back into pure white sand. He puts the hourglass back under his seat and suddenly, his right ear flickered.
"Oh, I almost forgot to introduce you to my assistant." Dr. Hooves said
He points his hoof at another pony next to him on his right. It was a mare that had a gray coat and wore nothing but a bow tie as her only clothing. She had a cutiemark that was a purple music note. The mare slightly bows to Twilight as Dr. Hooves spoke.
"This here is Octavia. She stays in this room as well." He said
"It's a pleasure meeting you Ms. Sparkle. I am here to accompany you through out your journey. Octavia said.
"It's nice to meet you too Ms. Octavia." Twilight answered back.
Twilight looked around and noticed that more questions were unanswered. What journey will she face, what mystery will happen and what future will she incounter?
Looking at the time Dr. Hooves noticed the time "Would you look at the time? We shall attend the details some other time."
Twilight quickly looked up and screamed " Wait, there is still many questions unanswered that I need to ask."
"I'm sorry Ms. Sparkle but it's time for you to start your journey. We'll meet again. But until then, farewell." He said as he waves his hoof in front of her eyes.
Twilight was about to speak again but slowly she started closing off and went right to sleep.
