UNSC Redemption

13:00 Hours
"Omega, status report on the ship's systems." A low and cold voice sounded from Captain Hayes as he looks out into the blackness of space. He wore a white navel officer uniform has short black hair, almost buzzed like a marine and had icy blue eyes that showed the hardness of a man that has seen what many would go insane after seeing.
A blue figure of a man wearing a navel uniform appeared on his terminal. This is the Redemption's AI Omega. "All systems normal Captain."
"How far off are we from the edge of UNSC controlled space."
"Judging by our speed I'd say we will hit the edge in 6 hours,14 minutes,and 10 seconds sir." said as the captain raised form his chair and moved to the front of the ships bridge windows. Omega shut off momentarily and reappeared at the terminal next to the window.
"do you have any reading of planetary gravity near by?"
"No sir." The Captain took in a sigh, he has fought though most of the Human-Covenant War. he still wonders to this day how he survived with his ship while so many others have fallen victim to the onslaught of the Covenant fleet.
"I can tell something's bothering you Captain do you care to share what you are so worried about." The Captain turned his attention to Omega.
"I feel that these exploration missions will come with a consequence."
"I understand that, but one question, Why do you and your kind seek so much territory?" This question took the Captain completely by surprise never has an AI asked about human motives. Just then he though he saw Omega flicker red.
"Humanity needs space to expand and to gain resources to maintain our needs so we expand our territory to get them. also we lost a number of colonies to the war and we need new once to replace them."
"I still don't see the point Human have enough as it is have you not learned for the covenant?"
"Omega go offline."
"Answer my Question!" The AI blurted out as the cockpit started to go hay wire. Omega was now flickering red repeatedly.
'Oh no' Captain Hayes thought in his mind, he knew what was happening.

UNSC Redemption
Near the ODST Drop Pods
Rookie was leaned up against his drop pod as he slept from boredom. he was wear his ODST armor as usual no one saw him without it with his helmet on. Most of the crew don't even know what he looks like, well all of them don't. The only people in the UNSC that knew who he looked like was the men he trained with and those in extreme high command. Sadly all the men he trained with have been killed in the war. He was the only survivor of his class.
No one even knows what his voice sounded like he was mute. He never talks and only does gestures when he gives a response. His squad named fire team Theta are use to him by now and have taken a liking to him, even thou he's mute and is a social outcast. There's only one thing they know about him no one else know which was his age. he was only 20, he signed up for the ODST at 18.
Rookie opened his eyes when he saw the light to the ship start to act up. Just then a voice sounded over the coms.
"We have an AI going into rampancy in the bridge, all-" The coms were cut off and went static. Rookie just raised a brow under his helmet confused on what was happening. he understood the rampancy since he has an AI of his own. Given to him after his first campaign and impressing the high command. His AI was new thou so he didn't have to worry about it for a while. oddly enough his AI was named after his squad Theta.
Within a few seconds the ship jerked causing Rookie to faceplant the metal floor with a loud thud. Rookie Groaned as he got up rubbing his head. he got back up and heard the coms came online again.
"All hand to your cyro-tubes, all hand to your cyro-tubes, the Redemption has entered slip space, I repeat the Redemption has entered slip space."
Rookie quickly got up and headed for his cyro-tube where his squad was already inside there tubes. He enters the tube and after a couple of seconds he is iced.
