//------------------------------// // Chapter 2: Let there be a new Light // Story: A Small 'Spark' of Yellow // by The Dusk Zone //------------------------------// Sparkler awoke with a start. It was hard to judge how much time had passed, but... well, certainly time did pass. For one she found herself in something similar to a Cave of sorts. But, there were bars on the other side of the room, and... equines standing guard? She tried to speak only to find a muzzle on her snout, as well as something on her tail. She felt... weak. As if something drained her natural ability to manage Electricity like a normal Pikachu. Pikachu... the race almost sound foreign. She didn't want to admit it to herself, but... something happened and things changed. And she wished she knew what exactly was going on. But at the same time she was somewhat an emotional battle ground. Her cheeks would spark every so often, thanks to a mixture of emotions, and one wrong move she could use that build up for something worse than a mare being on a period, being pissed off. She looked around, seeing only what looked to be a bed just big enough for her, as well as the fact it seemed there wasn't much else. She sighed, and looked ahead back at the bars and the guards. They didn't even make quiet conversation at all. They must be... very well trained. For a moment she was tempted to try and see if she could get their attention before an explosion nearly shook the place up. Well, not an explosion. But something loud and booming enough to rattle the very structure of the place she was being held captive. She could only imagine what it was... "SHE IS NOT A PRISONER!" Twilight was glad she knew how to use the Royal Canterlot voice. It seemed that neither Princess understood fully the situation. So, Twilight would have to explain for the 5th time... in the last two hours. "I'll say this again. The pony down in the dungeons right now, is not a prisoner. She may have attempted to attack us, but if not for me being any kinder than I was, She would have lost a leg. It was sprained, AND broken, with a nice gash on the side." Celestia sat there and sighed softly, shaking her head "We cannot simply let this mare roam free though. You said it yourself my f--" "Ooooohh no, DO NOT pull the Student card this time Celestia. You don't understand, she's not a PONY. There has been no pony in existence that controls electricity NATURALLY from their body. No horn. No wings. I already looked into it a small amount, and something tells me a bigger power is in play here." Twilight huffed as her wings flapped a bit in somewhat anger and annoyance. Why is it the same Princesses she knew her whole life as being open minded were so closed on keeping the mare locked up? Luna was silent for a long moment, before finally speaking up. "I...I cannot say I agree with you, Twilight. But, I cannot disagree. I... looked into the dream she was having when you brought her here. Most of it seemed to be a blur, most likely due to Adrenaline. But, something was very clear. The fabric of space was interrupted by a fraction of a second and a portal linking our world and this... "Mare's" world. I cannot say I believe this... but it would be how you see it, Twilight" This made the Lavender Alicorn nearly stop dead. Dimensional Travel? That was a whole new level of science not even she thought of exploring. But it opened talk to many more solutions. "...With permission this new mare comes to live with me, under tutelage and observation. Its obvious you two won't trust her for the time being, but, I will. I see the good in her, but tell me. i know both of you know this well. When you are in panic, scared, all alone? what would you do if you were in a place unknown, and didn't know if it was friendly or not? You would lash out. Fight back at what was closest because that is INSTINCT. Zecora saw to the mare the best she could and after I was sure Dash alerted the girls, we came here. If anything I'm giving her a chance. Since when did you two stop giving others chances?" This is where both Celestia and Luna became dead silent. The two didn't know how to respond to such... force-of-words, as well as how they both got put in their place. With recent events, after the whole need to use Rainbow Power, and Twilight ultimately new power and more Alicorn-like form after the battle with Tirek, the two were skeptical. But Celestia soon caved in. She had to. She couldn't say no to Twilight. "...If you believe this mare has good intentions and deserves better, it is upon you now, Twilight. Report any CRUCIAL findings to us. Not a letter-every-day thing, alright? No need to stress over it." Twi beamed. She knew she would win, it was just better to make sure bridges stood firm, and weren't burned down. Now she would need to build a new one. Sparkler awoke to the smell of warm food, and the scent of grapes coming off of some one. Opening her eyes, she found herself looking at a fairly tall Equine. Whom had a pretty lavender coat, actually. It looked better than she thought it might look. Most equines in the Nameless Forest never really... kept that well clean. Twi used her magic, and slowly worked at it, and took the muzzle off of Sparkler. She smiled softly, and moved the tray of food she had gotten for her, a simple bowl of hot honey-oatmeal, and Orange Juice for a drink. "Sorry for... well, what seems to be hostility towards you. The muzzle, and the Charge-Suppressor. Other's... don't exactly trust you. I'm Twilight Sparkle." Twi then looked over Sparkler, and nodded a bit. "Welcome to Equestria."
