Delanie's Fire

by Pinkieisepic

Why?

Twilight looked at me curiously. “I’m not sure...wait, is he the brown stallion with the hourglass cutie mark? Oh, right, you don't remember anything..."

"But I do remember! Well, I remember him, vaguely. I feel like he can help us."

"I certainly hope so. Do you even know where he is?" Twilight sighed, looking expectantly at me.

"I have an idea, yeah." I smile "Follow me."

------------------------

"So, you think he's here...in a blue box?" She asks, clearly thinking I've lost it. Who knows, maybe I have.

"Not just a blue box" I reached for the door "A locked blue box."

"Why would you lock something like this?" Twilight laughed.

"So no one just walks in, obviously. And I’m the one with memory loss?” I snort. I feel like the box is important, it seems like it is. How many ‘police boxes’ are in Equestria anyway?

"What are you doing here?" asked a stallion I assumed to be Doctor Whooves. He was quite handsome; something about him almost seemed to unlock something in me. Almost.

"We need your help." I quickly respond, hoping to not waste any time.

"What makes you think I can help you?"

"Because," I freeze, not really knowing why "I...well..."

"She has selective memory and she said she remembered you." Twilight answers for me.

"Yeah," the thing in my head telling me what to say stops "I'm...I’m..."

Twilight laughs quietly at my sad attempt to talk. I glare at the ground, making a fool of myself.

"I know you can help me, I feel like I can trust you." I mumble.

"Okay, what’s wrong with me?" I think "I'm not like this, focus, Delanie!" Something was seriously different, I was acting ridiculous. Then I noticed the Doctor was smiling.

"I think I can help you." He said, unlocking the police box.
------------------------------------

"Woah, this is...wow." She looked into the box. As soon as I laid eyes on the huge space, I knew Twilight would find it amazing. I know I did. “If I remember the..." I paused as the memory appeared "the TARDIS, and I remember him, why doesn't he remember me?"

"Welcome to the TARDIS!"

"Why did I remember that? I’m seriously not understanding how I remembered that?!" I think, pretending me knowing what it was called was a coincidence.

"TARDIS, I like it." smiled Twilight.

"It stands for time-"

"And relative dimension in space?" I blurt, trying to avoid the annoyed and shocked look coming from the Doctor. I blush and try to take the bad attention away from myself I say "My name is Delanie, by the way."

"Darn, I really enjoy telling people that. So, Delanie, how did you know that?"

I stay quiet; there was something happening in my mind. “The TARDIS, it's sort of like my mind." I say, not realizing I've just said it aloud. "It doesn't really seem like much on the outside, but the inside...maybe I should get some mind keys!” I laugh at the thought.

"The Doctor's keys, in my mind, if it could help me I would be happy. Hey, if that would help me remember anything, I'd be happy." I think as a blurry image comes to mind, something that was recognizable, but I still couldn't completely grasp it. I stumbled backward, a bit shocked. I hadn't exactly expected myself to remember, well, anything!

"I know what we need to find!" I screamed in delight. "Okay, well not exactly, but I have an idea of what it is."

---------------------------------

As I finished explaining both Twilight and the Doctor asked "What?" in perfect unison.

"No idea, no time. Did you guys even pay attention? I just know I need to go straight into that fire! Doctor, do you think your TARDIS will burn?"

"It's been through much worse." he smiled, not asking about the fire. "Just how do you propose we go into a fire and not get burnt?"

"If it comes to that, I’m an alicorn,” Whatever that is, I add silently. “I’m sure Twilight and I could come up with enough magic to sort of fireproof all three of us. Now let’s get going! "I smiled, bouncing up and down. I really didn't expect what was about to happen.

--------------------------------------------

I don't remember blacking out, really, I don't. How could anyone expect a girl with memory loss to? But as I tried to sit up, I felt a huge welt on my head. I put my hoof to it, and then realized my hoof was no longer where it should be. Naturally, I screamed.

"My hooves!” I cried, "What happened? What are these? W-what am I?"

"Don't freak out, those are your hands. They're like hooves. By the way," He got up and tossed Twilight and I something odd looking, before he looked away. "you might want to put some clothes on."

"Awkward..." I say, frantically trying to put on the 'clothes'. Twilight didn't seem to be having a much better time .As I finally seemed to get the clothes on the Doctor said "Nice work girls.”

"And how are you so much better with these...things?" commented Twilight on the Doctor's clothes. "They're nothing like the dresses I've worn in the past."

"Hey, at least you know if you've even worn clothes in the past!" I complained, resulting in an odd look from Twilight "What? It's a valid statement."

"Okay then. To answer Miss Sparkle's question, I come to Earth quite often. Today’s trip was unintended, though." he paused and I heard him mumble "Always is."

"So, should we leave?" asked Twilight.

"Hey, it's not like the Everfree forest in on fire or someth-oh, it is. Well, I’m sure whatever is going to destroy Equestria will be fine for now. I needed a break. Please?"

"You've been in Equestria for 29 hours, 47 minutes, and 35 seconds-not that I’m counting. Most ponies don't get bored of it that fast." Twilight said with a dry laugh.

"And now I’m on Earth, and I’m a...what am I, Doctor?"

"You're a human; we're all humans at the moment." The Doctor nodded to Twilight, whom I was still looking down on as if she were her normal height when she was only a few inches shorter than me. I looked down at her indigo hair with the purple and a really bright pink streak. I can't help but wonder what I look like.

"Do you have a mirror?"

"Hmm, yes, there is one down that hall. Here come with me." he said, taking my hand.

-------------------------------------------

"So, this is what I look like?" I gestured to myself. I honestly didn't look that different. My hair was the same light blonde with a few black streaks in it, and the same freakish tallness. My eyes were quite different, though. I remember looking at them in the hospital before a transported, and they were much lighter now.

"Yes, oh and one thing Delanie." he leaned down a bit to whisper in my ear "I remember you. I think you might remember me better now that we're on Earth, just tell me if you remember anything."
