// Chapter 4: Nightmares

I was walking through a ruins of what I believe to be a kingdom. I was walking around piles of destroyed walls and ceiling, trying to think how I got here. It didn't make any sense, I couldn't have slept that long. I finally got out of the ruins and saw the destruction. Remains of buildings lied everywhere, many bodies that I couldn't tell what they were any more. Fire and smoke everywhere. It stung my eyes so they watered. Was this Ponyville, or at least that's what I think its called. 

In the centre of it all was a giant crater. I recognised this level of destruction: An atomic bomb, maybe even red matter powered.  Sorrow filled me, even though they were annoying ponies they didn't deserve this, it wasn't right. Then I saw him, it was Kram shooting a pony in the head: Pinkie Pie. That was when I snapped. I ran at him with my full power, blindly charging. But before I got to him he gestures a different way.

It was Earth, but it was different. It was in ruins as this one is. It was showing the remains of my house. Tears of anger and sadness filled my eyes as I fell to the ground, I had failed. 

Then I bursted awake. It was a dream, or a nightmare I suppose that  unfortunately may not be far from happening. "Are you alright, I think you were having a nightmare." I heard Pinkie Pie say, who I was actually happy to see. "No way, I'm fine. Why would you think that?" I asked shaking off that vision. "You were twitching and there are tears in your eyes." She said. I put my hoof to my eyes. they were wet with tears. 

That's how deep my family means to me, and my home. "It was about the fire wasn't it?" She said. She was actualy being serious. "Huh? Yeah." I lied. I didn't need her to know I was crying for a reason that involved her. But my dream did give me a heads up. If Kram does get me in this world, my world is doomed, too. This is like the battle field. "Its ok, you'll recover." Pinkie said as she pulled me into a hug. 

I didn't go against it, I did need to know for certain that their was other things then me. It also gave me comfort to know she was alive for some reason. I did make an oath to not pull them into this, but I'm starting to see how hard that really will be! Pinkie Pie broke out of the hug and went back to her silly self. "Would you like some waffles?" She asked me randomly. 

I guess it was breakfast time. "Sure." I answered. She jumped off down stairs. I guess walking was to main stream for her. I took out my watch to have a look at it. It was worst than I had thought, it was at 5% already. I don't have much time, I need to get to that Twilight pony. Then Pinkie jumped back up the stairs and put a plate of waffles in front of me. "Thanks." I said. 

"No problem." She said eating some of her own. I began eating them, too. "I should throw a party to properly welcome you!" She said. "Pinkie you don't need to do that." I said. In fact I didn't want her to. Besides the fact that I'd be surrounded by girlish ponies, It would also give Kram more of a lead to me. 

"It would be so much fun though! Everypony loves parties!" She said. Which naturally didn't include me due to I'm not actually a pony. "Yeah but, I'd like more time to adjust to the new lifestyle before a party." I said. "Okie dokie!" She said. After we were done our breakfast we made our way to the library where Twilight lives. 

"Well, here we are. I would like to stay but today I have to work at Sugarcube corner. So bye and have fun." She said as she ran off before I could speak. Random: the only word I think would best describe that. I knocked at the door assuming that's what they do. it took a little bit but eventually the door was answered. But it was answered by a dragon. I didn't know if I should be scared or not. It didn't seem hostile. 

"Hi, what do you need?" The dragon asked. Its voice was male so I'm assuming he would be a boy. He was very small and calm so I definitely don't see him as a threat. I always figured dragons devoured horses and ponies. But I guess in this world everything is friendly and happy. "I'm here to see Twilight." I replied. "ok, and who are you?" He asked. Oh yeah I guess my name would be needed.

"Oh yeah sorry. My name is Hidden Blade and I'm one of Pinkie Pie's friends. I was told that Twilight is very skilled in magic and I need her assistance." I said. "The name's Spike." He said putting out his hand. I guess they do hand/hoof shake. I shook his hand. "I'll go get her, come in she'll be here in just a sec." He said as he moved out of the way to allow me passage. I walked in and then he went off to get her. See, this is another example of kindness you don't get from humans.

After a mild wait a lavender coloured unicorn came down. She had an interesting mane job but I wasn't to talk. "Hello, I understand your name is Hidden Blade and you need my help." She said. Wow, smarter than Pinkie Pie. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, and before you say anything, is this life threatening?" She asked. Why would she ask if its life threatening, nothing is life threatening here I thought. "It could be." I replied.

"Alright, what is it." she asked seriously. I was thinking of a way I could say that I was a disguised creature from another dimension and I'm being hunted by another version of me to kill me and take over all worlds. I figure I couldn't say that, it is way to overwhelming. I think I'll leave the human part out. "Ok, you may not believe me, but I'm from another dimension." I replied. She didn't seemed as shocked as I thought. 

"That doesn't seem to far out there considering there is time travel, how did you get here?" She asked. Really, time travel? They must have acces to red matter, they have to! "a certain mishap, but that's not important. What is though, is that I need to get back, sooner rather than later..." I said looking at my watch quickley. It was at 4%. "I guess I should get started. Although this is very crazy and will take a lot of skill and magic and studying." She said. "Yes ok, and how long will that take?" I asked. "Who knows, it could take hours, or a day or two." She answered. 

"You can't be any quiker?" I asked. "Sorry, I'll be as fast as I can." She replied. With that she went over to the book shelves and began searching for a book. I went over and slumped down into a chair. "How is it like in your dimension?" I looked over and saw the dragon talking to me. "Really similar to this one. Nothing way out there worth noting." I replied. "How did you get here though?" He asked. "Well, there's this rare element known as red matter that has the power to do incredible things." I started.

"Like magic?" He asked. "Yes, a lot like magic. It can teleport you, transport you through time, clone yourself and go from dimension to dimension." I continued. "So you used it to come here?" He asked. "No, someon- pony did, and I got caught up in it." I answered. "How is this life threatening?" Twilight asked without looking up from her book she was now reading. "That doesn't matter because it...isn't. I thought it was but looking over it, it really isn't." I lied. I didn't need to tell them because with any luck, I'll be gone in a day or two. 

"How did you meet Pinkie Pie?" Spike asked. "Man, a pony doesn't get a break! But fine whatever. I met Pinkie when I first got here and she let me stay at her place." I said. "Ok, I'll stop with the questions." Spike replied. "I'll take a while, Spike why don't you show Hidden Blade Ponyville." Twilight said.  "Ok." And with that me and Spike left to have a look around the town. 

I just hope Twilight can get me out before it's too late, or this might truely be the battle field...
