Discorded Humanity

by The Drifting Bard

chapter 17

I'm Sir David, Knight of the wind, alright? Difficult takes a few seconds; impossible, a few minutes

i was lead into the throne room, seeing the looks on the faces of nobles and foreign dignitarys in slight worry that i might do something. she took her seat next to Celestia. i stood and waited, as the arguement between Celestia and a very distraught looking Griffin was getting heated. "ENOUGH! your highness, with all due respect, Terrinscore, the Human has arrived" Celestia huffed glumly. the Griffin took a glance at me for a moment, and then laughed.
i remained still, considering that if i did take a hostile course of action there would be major reprocussions.
"Princcess, surely you jest, this... fleshy thing? a hero? dont make me laugh"
i winked at the twin Alicorn sisters, and silently moved behind the Griffin emissary.

"Terrinscore, tis no joke," he jumped at the sound of my voice.
he swivelled on the spot, looking directly at me.
"I am not a hero... i am a warrior, blessed by the gods themselves," i tapped the pendant. "blessed by the elements"
he studied me with eyes like a hawk.
"i apologize, but until i hear the story from Your point of view"
"Celestia, please, memory share spell"
it was lucky for me that the fight against the chaos was still fresh in my mind.
i watched as the griffin reeled back seemingly in fear.
"now do you beleive?"
the griffin nodded.
"Good, now then, Celestia, you wanted me for something?"
the white Alicorn simply smiled, "yes, we have a new mission for you"

mission? for fuck sake...
"a simple escort mission"
"let me guess, i've got to escort Terrinscore back to the Griffin homeland without him getting killed"
the mare sheepishly nodded. i sighed. "fine... on one condition"
"and that would be?" the mare asked.
"armor, i have a feeling i'll be needing it in the future"
the gaurds ponies smiled at this. "well, greenhorn, take him to the barracks, im sure the blacksmith will love this challenge"

the barracks were surprisingly quiet, considering the new recruits were currently being drilled by a very harsh sargent.
as we walked past the sargent, he looked me up and down. "you there," fuck "your that thing from 5 years ago, saved Equestria" i simply nodded. "any good with that blade?"
"heh, i'll show you after i get my armor sorted out"
the unicorn soldier simply nodded and continued to shout orders.
the blacksmith was sat there working on golden armour. "Forge, i have a warrior here"
the pony looked me over, saw the sword. "ah, i wondered who had that, how is it?"
i looked down, "you made this? if i can decapitate Discord with it, then it is excellent"

the pony smiled, "well, my name is Iron Forge, you're here for armor, yes?"
i nodded, "no helmet though" i added. i was suddenly enveloped in light.
Forge noticed my worried expression, "i'm only taking measurements, i've seen into your mind on how you want this armor to look... its quite simplistic"
i sighed, "dude, I'm not from this world remember" i stated. he had gotten to work straight away.
i simply walked back through the barracks and laughed.
"so then sarge... about this little challenge?"
the sargent looked at me in surprise. "no armor? heh, you've got guts Hero"
"wanna see what they look like?" i chuckled, as did the sargent.
"well then, follow me... all of you"
i simply did as told, being lead to a hall.
"welcome to the main training room"
"who's first to try their hoof at besting me in combat then" i smiled.

suddenly there was an explosion. "time to go to work" i ran up back to where Forge was.
he suddenly threw the prototype armour to me "put it on, and hurry"
i donned the armour. the silver bracers on each arm, a pauldron resting on my left shoulder.
the cape covered the other arm. the greaves were comfortable.
"Forge, nice work" i dashed out to the throne room.

as i walked through the corridors, i had to fight my way through.
there wasnt a thing i wouldnt do to my enemies. i tore them apart, decorating the walls with blood and innards.
my enemies were Griffins. thier talons, sharp enough to leave a scratch on my armour.
my shirt was torn to peices, i was not happy. i finally reached the throne room.
"Terrinscore!"
he turned to me, with a maniacle look in his eyes, "the warrior returns hmm? SEIZE HIM!"
His elite honor gaurd had appeared out of nowhere. they attempted to outflank me.
"not today" i muttered.
i reached forth, my blade shimmiring in the sunlight.
"not today, Terrinscore," i smirked.
i spun my blade around, decapitating the two griffins closing in on me.
"or any other day, Run while you can"

i watched as most of his surviving soldiers flew off, carrying the wounded and the dead.
"Celestia, is everything alright?"
"yes, I'm fine, but"
a messenger pony burst through the doors, he was bleeding and out of breath.
"your majesties, oh my....wha... Ponyville is under seige"
i stopped to stare at the pony. "are you sure, any casulties?"
"not yet sire"
the sargent had trotted up, looking me in the eye for a moment.
"sarge, i need 2 of your best"
"just two?"
"yes"
he left, for moment there i took a glance. Celestia was calming Luna down.
"has this happened before?"
"no... but the gri"
"ponyville better be unharmed" i said darkly.

the two ponies introduced themselves. "my name is grimm strike"
a black pegasus pony from the night gaurd.
"and im"
"Sunny Skies, i know" he was a unicorn pony from the day gaurd.
"we go to Ponyville, now!"

we were transported by a very distraught looking Celestia.
"good luck, Dave" was all she said to me.
